Hi! Im interested in the build, I found a ring locally but I dont know if its thick enough. For the tunic it looks like your typical officer tunic with rectangular shoulder boards or epaulettes. The pants is just straight white pants??

From what I could tell the trousers could either be straight legged or flared. There are two other versions of him in the concept art that seem to be either straight legged or flared too. Also yes the epaulettes are rectangular.

  2. I've decided to start on the second version of Krennics uniform with the poncho. I know the cape is held on with hidden fasteners, but would the poncho need the fasteners as well? There's no way of knowing seeing as the poncho covers everything. I'd assume not considering it's being held down by the belt and how it's designed like regular officer ponchos. I've searched high and low for photos and can't find anything. Any help/advice/reference photos/vendors are very much appreciated.

  3. Update on this. I've found the rank bar, gold cord and "pelt." The only thing I'm missing is the metal ring. If anyone can point me in the direction of finding a thick and sturdy enough ring that would be most appreciated. Also, the hair is where I'm stuck the most. To me it looks like it could be dark to light brown.

  4. Captain Ozzik Sturn was born into a family of influential, powerful and wealthy big game hunters. Due to his family's influence and wealth he was able to rise through the ranks quickly. Though basically an aristocrat he stayed at the rank of Captain during his service to the Empire. Over time he became more and more sadistic. Hunting animals soon lost its charm. He then moved on to hunting different sentient alien species on the worlds he would occupy. He would often wear the pelts or skins of his prized kills on his uniform in public. He also adorned his many residences with the bodies or heads of his many kills.20230712_114247.jpg.4f38f8ea9cdbb80f059a3bcbadf2bb2f.jpg

It is shaved hair or undercut hairstyle. (It is may be just anime/cartoon drawing/coloring logic for that part to be gray looking but it not it can be just hair growing out abit LOL) with some design with it. It is just possible it is clip 1 for that gray part and and clip 2 to 3.

The mystery has been solved lol. Also, I'd have to find out have to make that work with a wig somehow. My hair doesn't grow out long enough for me to be able to do that one big flap that covers the left side of his face.

He's clearly an alien (ears, yo), so I wonder if it's actually intended to be a natural skin marking of some sort?

I honestly didn't think of that. I thought it was just an anime thing lol. Which has me thinking now. Is his head actually shaved or is it just grey in his hair? If we're following the alien logic that is.

  7. So here's attempt number one at trying to match the goatee(?) from the animation with my actual facial hair. It could have come out better but it's not a bad start. I'll try a few more times. If that doesn't succeed I'll move on to something like black/dark grey face paint.

  8. I need everyone's opinion on the make-up and facial hair. Personally I think the eye make-up is purple to dark purple but in the first picture it looks black. Secondly there's no way I could get my facial hair to look like that. Should I attempt shaving or use black make-up for the goatee thing?

Weird how the code cylinder pockets seem to move up and down depending on whether he's wearing the poncho LOL

No poncho - normal position, about midway along the arm hole.

Poncho - practically at armpit level LOL

I honestly didn't notice that until you pointed it out lol. I'm sure the artists had their reasons for doing so. I don't think it would affect the CRL though. I mean you'd have to have two separate tunics if that was the case.

    Looks great, @Angelus!

One note, looking at the references and screencaps above:

It looks like there is NO code cylinder pocket on the left, and the one on the right is actually at the bottom of the start of the arm hole level, WAY lower than usual.

And I'm not sure if there is supposed to be an exterior chest pocket right below the rank bar position?

    Thoughts?

From what I'm seeing in the art book and screencaps, in regards to the detail concerning an exterior pocket on the left side, it's just a rectangular piece of fabric sewn on there. For what reason I don't know but it looks cool and just works. It adds some depth and a little unique flair to the uniform I think.

So far for this admiral does have a cape in the manga which is in a manga mazgine but it is not very clear on the design. but I am guessing it will be the same as Ochō. Let me dug for the art book when I finish unpacking my bag LOL (just came back home)

You wouldn't happen to have the manga magazine too do you?

Thank you so much @Angelus that will be a big help. Also glad you made it home safely.

  13. I saw that thread. I'm beyond impressed with the costumers CRL of it. It's freaking awesome. I saw a little bit of him on one page of the book, but not enough to start working on it. The hair is my main concern. Do you have any more info on him @Angelus?

  14. Though I have not seen Star Wars: Visions I'm very intrigued by Ocho and this ISB Admiral's design. I was wondering if anyone had any screencaps of him. This is what I found on Google images and wookiepedia. Also, I have no idea if this guy has a name so if anyone has that info please let me know.

  15. Here are some quotes I have so far. I'll start with the quotes I've found and will update the list as needed.

"His hair is dark, his skin is pale. Those eyes, though. A familiar arrogance shines there. Each a black whole swallowing the light."

    - Aftermath: Life Debt, Chapter Six, pg. 90

"Admiral Rax stands there. Silent as a specter. His black-gloved hands are clasped in front of him."

Aftermath: Life Debt, Chapter 22, pg. 259

"Then he comes. Gallius Rax. He wears the white of a Grand Admiral, somehow clean despite the filth of this world. A red cape swoops behind him stirring dust.

    Aftermath: Empire's End, Chapter 21, pg. 251

    SPOILER AHEAD!!!

"Rax's hands move to his midriff, where a spreading red stains his raiment. Soon his naval white matches the red cape spilled beneath him."

    Aftermath: Empire's End, Chapter 37, pg. 442

Notes: I looked up what shade of red that blood is. When I looked that up the shade of blood is crimson red. The quote said his uniform began to match his cape. Therefore the cape would be crimson red.

The quote that describes his new uniform mentions his cape stirring up dust when he walks. That would mean that it is nearly floor length like that of Director Krennic.

He is referred to as Admiral Rax throughout all three books. He keeps the title even after adopting the all white uniform. So, at the moment, it is left up to interpretation as to whether or not he changed his rank bar. However, seeing as he is known for his theatrics throughout all three books, he more than likely would have given himself the appropriate rank bar.

Edit: The color of his cape would be more akin to the shade of red on the left. Seeing as it is fresh blood spreading on his uniform. A darker crimson if you will.
