  1. I got Wed-Mon at Castle Inn as well, at least as a placeholder.  Nice to hear it's only a ten minute walk... Sounds about the same as where I was for the last Anaheim Celebration.  Helpful for those late night stumbling walks back to the room after the various after hours parties!  (though just taking an elevator upstairs would be better!) :D

I'm a member of the OC squad. We had a celebration planning meeting two weeks ago. If you attend, come meet us at the 501st booth.

Has there been any mention of dates yet?

  3. I was really bummed to have missed this year's Celebration. I am thrilled for it to be back in Anaheim, and no off year wait in between!

I remember the awesome IOC Mixer from the last Anaheim Celebration, and am looking forward to it again.  By all means let's start getting plans made!

  4. Just one small suggestion.  The neck guard should be coming "out" of the ears, rather than being sandwiched between the ear and the helmet bowl.  This will give you a bit more flare at the front, and should help relieve the current "pinched" look of the neck guard.

Hard to describe, but any decent photos of the helmet can illustrate what I mean.  The front edge of the neck guard actually goes into the ear almost to the front - facing edge of the ear, and the neck guard extends out the bottom of the ear.

  5. Ditto here, but for a FO captain, supposedly done last March.  Communication was ok up til about mid last year, when she went radio silent, except for posting occasional convention posts on Instagram. Hope things are OK since I met her once back at Celebration Orlando, and she was a very nice person.  But some sort of comms would be good, even if it's "hey, sorry it's late, I'm just way behind." Even though it's almost a year past due, I don't mind, as long as there is some communication.

  6. Congrats on a cool troop! Just an observation if you happen to care about such things, but I have found that wearing the lanyard inside the jacket, and just letting the badge hang out from the side opening (if required to be visible at all) is much less obtrusive in photos.  It's also a lot easier to slip the badge into the jacket behind the front flap for a quick photo. Lanyards are a bit more invisible with a black uniform, but I have found them to stand out quite a bit on the olive. When in a sharp uniform like yours, you should look as neat as possible! 8)

  7. There was a preview of three new female First Order officers on a youtube video as well.  All apparently "Epic" rareity, which is mildly surprising as they didn't appear to be anything too special other than a face swap.   Still, nice to see we'll finally be able to not have everyone of a certain class looking like clones of each other.  Uhh.. Except of course, the actual clones...

I just really hope they bring back my beloved Imperial Navy Troopers!

  8. Are there any good shots of princess seams on the back?  I haven't been able to get any good shots of them, and would be quite interested to see.

Also, the red lining of the gauntlets as shown above is also visible in the detention block shootout occassionally.  If I knew how to upload photos I'd post some, but in any case they can be found in the high-def screencaps posted online, mostly when INs get shot and spin around.

It is also worth noting that the gauntlet cuffs (of at least the type with the metal buckle)  appear to be made of two parts, the main over arm part, with a separate piece joining the two edges of the main part of the cuff, resulting in a seam running down the length of the cuff to the wrist.  Again, pretty plainly visible on those high-def screencaps.

I have heard tell that Giovanni literally only replies via FB messenger. I haven't worked with him personally but that seems to be the general consensus. His work is pretty great though!

Sucks for me then as I do not use Facebook.  Nice to know though so I don't waste any more attempts on it.

Some do yes.  Luckily we have found a source that will make them custom for any size.  I plan on ordering both variants by the end of the month

Can we find out what that is?  I'm running into problems there.  Heard not-great things about the Imperialboots version, and Crowprops has not replied to me in 3 attempts to contact...  Boots are the only thing I still need to source.

Can anyone confirm whether the IN helmet looks the same as the OT ones?  I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d changed something.

Overall the parts, bit by bit, look pretty close, but the geometry appears to have changed somewhat. From that picture, I'm sure they will look close enough to what they were in the OT to be easily recognizable, but more akin to the newer interpretations ala Rogue One.

  12. I'm sure I'm in the minority, but I actually enjoy it.  After not having seen it since it originally aired on TV, not really remembering anything about it, and hearing all the horror stories, I got a bootleg dvd off ebay and watched it.

And I'll be damned if I didn't get a thrill out of seeing "new" old Star Wars with everyone looking as I remembered them!    It has now in fact become my new Christmas tradition to kick back with a nice glass of wine, pop in the Holiday Special, and time travel back to my childhood.
