  1. So it looks like the basic Imperial Trooper wears the same gear as a AT-ST driver, with the addition of a blaster and some leather belt pouches. That makes things easier for me if a green jumpsuit isn't required. But I agree, that medic impression is a great idea. August, you deserve a medal for all of the info you've found.

  2. So far I've been going off of what I've read in the Star Wars Imperial Handbook by Daniel Wallace. It's the one with notes written in it by notable Rebels which I choose not to name. I like how it goes into detail on Imperial Army unit formations and deployment. I only wish the publishers offered one without the graffiti in it. It's a pretty good read.

  3. Ben, I agree that a jumpsuit isn't the most practical thing to wear in the field, but I figure since there's no credible references from the Star Wars movie I went with the example set by the lower ranking personnel in other branches that wear them on film. I like your ideas of a ground pounding Trooper, which sounds more viable and familiar ( I spent the better part of 20 years in the Regular Army and National Guard in the Combat Arms branches) and while it may be more effective and logical, I think I'll probably stick with a jumpsuit until I can come up with a version 2.0. I'll post some photos if and when I get this completed. I don't figure that this impression will ever be recognized by the 501st, but it will be a blast to wear at non-canon events.

  4. Will do, they want me to send them a swatch of Officers uniform material so that they can match it to what they have in stock. So if anyone has a left over piece that they can send my way, I can get this build started.

  5.    Well I picked up a copy of the Star Wars Imperial Handbook a while back and was reading through it to learn a bit more about the Imperial Army, which is under represented in the movies. Page 64 of the handbook briefly discusses the 4 basic variations of the Army uniform and unfortunately (for me, at least) only show illustrations of the 2 Vehicle command Crewers (AT-AT and AT-ST). Page forward to page 86 which depicts an Imperial Garrison and it appears to show a large group of troopers with helmets and armor carrying blasters.

I really like the concept of an Imperial Infantry Trooper, the lowest, most basic member of the Military. My question is; are there any other examples of Imperial Army Troopers in the wide world of the Star Wars universe other than what I've found in the handbook? And if so, how many examples would be needed to be considered for the possibility of approval by the 501st?

  6. Got it, and I still think the 501st should give its blessings to a group like the Galactic Academy. Getting the younger folks involved is a good way to ensure more Troopers in the future. Looking forward to seeing you in the completed kit.
