[Governor Pryce in armour]

I'll admit it would be cool to have armor or helmets in the "optional accessories" category of the CRL for different officers. It would add some pizazz, where if they're on a ship or a base they'd still be wearing the normal uniform but if the situation called for it (boarding party, landing planetside for battle) they could suit up!

My thought exactly. Helmet and torso armor, color-matched to the uniform. Cool accessories!

Also, rank tiles are mounted on a bar instead of directly on the chest plate like the Veers armor...

Definitely interested in this thread! I've done some looking around myself, and came across this sketch by costume designer John Mollo:

 

 

I also read the Wookiepedia entry on "Imperial Officer Battle Armor", which reads: "The armor was color-matched to the underlying uniform..."

And verifying that, for example, Grand Admiral Thrawn did wear white armor over white uniform:

The CB rank bar is huge and rubbery.

The background area is gray instead of silver.
