  1. Unfortunately the lighting in that scene is horrible and completely skews the color.  We all know Tarkin had a green uniform, but in that shot it looks brown, maybe even black.  The IN on the right has a black uniform, but the lighting in the scene makes it almost look green.  I'm thinking that "grey" uniform is actually an ISB, just the lighting in the scenes make it look grey.

Is this pretty standard, or just around Celebration? The wifey is trying to get a job at Disney after she defends and I graduate next year.

This is the standard, year round.  The Tampa Bay Squad (which I am in) did about 200 events last year.  That does not include the many events we had to turn down/cancel because we didn't have troopers that could attend them.

I just used a 1" by 0.125" bar stock from Home Depot. That, a hack saw, sandpaper and a lot of elbow grease should make it pretty. I also had a machine shop mill a couple recesses in the back for magnets so it sat a little flat.

That's a pretty neat idea, I never thought of having a recess drilled out.  I just use a super thin magnet so it doesn't stick out from the surface of the fabric much.

Here's a quick pic of the ladies version. Unfortunately, I've gained some weight over the 2 years and the chest is too tight.  I don't remember specifying the size of the belt - I assumed they went off the size of the pants or tunic. I have a women's large tunic and pants and I think they gave me a men's large belt. If I lose any weight it will be too big. I wonder how it will fit tall women. I'm somewhat short (5'4") and the tunic length and arms don't seem very long.

Unfortunately that has been a long standing issue with Anovos.  They dont offer sizes in Long or Short versions.  So tall people, like many of our Vaders, wouldn't be able to wear one of these officer uniforms because the sleeves would end in the middle of the forearm.

As Kris said though, it does fit fairly well on you.  Maybe just move the buttons over a tad and it should be perfect.

  5. No wonder their stuff is so expensive. It sounds like they are shipping stuff back and forth across the globe.  Henry Ford would not be impressed by their manufacturing process.

I am no business guru but doesn't it seem problematic to be doing all this safety testing AFTER you've already manufactured everything?  What if it fails?  Now you have to scrap all those pieces that you've made.

  6. It begs to be asked, if they have separate places making parts of the uniform, how can we be assured that the colors and fabric will exactly match each other.  If they have one place making the cap and another the tunic, you're only asking for problems with matching.  Unless of course Anovos sourced the fabric, and then shipped it out to all the locations making the parts.  But then that seems tremendously inefficient to me.

  7. The quick answer would be probably not.  The green color is a very hard one to match, and the color used by cosplaysky is its own unique color.  If we were talking the black uniform, then I would say yes, because the color difference would not be noticeable.  However, the green is much easier to detect the difference in colors.

  8. The good thing is it is black.  It is not as difficult to match the black fabric.  Not to say that it is easy, but not as difficult to do if it was the olive uniform.  He might be able to find some matching fabric at a local fabric store.

Some close ups with the flash on and off might help.  Or pictures taken out side may help.  The problem with black is that it can be hard to see the fine details.

  9. The ONLY reason I haven't cancelled my order yet is because these are the only uniforms currently that have the "accurate" green color for the olive uniform.  While other vendors have the olive uniforms, the color is never quite right, especially when you are standing next to someone who has another olive uniform.  If I had ANY other costume from them, I would have cancelled.  I just WANT that damn color.

I wish now that I hadn't kept putting off buying the MuR uniforms, thinking they would be around for a while.

  10. I snapped another few pics of the one on display at the Launch Bay in Orlando.  I remember someone had mentioned the fact that they thought the belt line seam didn't go all the way around the back.  When I just went to the Launch Bay on saturday, I noticed the belt had slipped down, showing a seam that appears to go all the way around the uniform.  Take this with a grain of salt, as these are probably some early prototypes, and may not be representative of the final product.

I also took some pics of the belt, which appeared to have some velcro on it.  It also seems to be the "wrong way."  Instead of tucking back behind itself, the belt is going front and over itself.

  11. That's logical thinking there Kris.  That's never a good thing, not in the corporate world at least.  lol

But you are right, and that leads me to think at least one of those statements is BS.  Either production isn't complete, or they aren't waiting on safety testing, but something else.
