  1. Crazy answer sorry we cant show you pictures of the product you have purchased

Not really.  I think if you were to go onto the FB page for McDonalds and ask for a real picture of their hamburgers, you're either going to get the same response, or just a picture from their advertisements.  No one is going to walk back into the kitchen and take a picture of a hamburger for you.

  2. Museum Replicas doesn't have a license to sell any SW costumes anymore, at least as far as I know, so they can't be MuR.   They aren't Anovos, you can pretty much tell that just by looking at them.  They would also have an Anovos tag on the inside if they were, which they do not.  Now what would NOT surprise me to find out is if they are being made at the same factory as the Anovos ones, but as a cheaper quality version that is being marketed under a "general disney brand."

  3. There is another thread where I posted some pictures of the officer uniform at the Launchbay.  I didn't notice that the waist seam didn't go all the way around though, nice catch Kat.  A shame, because I was hoping to go for level 3 with my Anovos uniform.  :(

  4. My initial thought when I saw him was that maybe he is a re-imagining of a Grand Admiral.  After all, the ones we know of are all part of the Legends series now.  So this could be what the Grand Admirals of the canon universe look like.  Or it could be a Director of the ISB.

  5. Don,

I was there last Sunday and asked an employee the same question. She said, "We will take your measurments, and it will be custom made. Then you will receive the uniform in six weeks." I just assumed she didn't know what she was talking about.

    Matt

Maybe that is 6 Alderaanian weeks.  :-P

  6. I'm a big fan of the MuR caps, even if they are not quite as tall as they should be.  I have one and troop with it.  They have more of a "military cap" look to them, and they have that edging along the front and back flaps, which almost no one has if they are buying a fan made one.  In my opinion, the only reason you shouldn't use the MuR cap is if it is falling apart on you.

  7. As I recall as far as prototype pics went, the Premium Line or whatever it's called had a panel, but the Standard line did not. I remember this because once they posted the standard line pics, I was surprised to see that it was lacking a panel when the other version had one.

Strangely enough though, both the standard and the premium do not show a modesty panel, at least not at this time.

  8. Nice one Eric, im still hoping they have corrected the modesty panel issue but if not im sure adding one wont be to hard

    Thanks Kris.

Yeah I dont think it would be too difficult to add a modesty panel.  However, it is disappointing that there is not one.  I can't remember if the prototype they had originally had shown a modesty panel or not.  Just for giggles I looked at the website now and the pics they have up now shows no panel.  *shrug*.

  9. The story I got from the person at Disney was that someone, a lawyer no less, brought a real firearm into the parks (or at least attempted to.)  I'm not sure how this translates into "hey lets stop selling all these toys," but my theory is he may have tried to tell one of the gate guards that it was a toy, maybe even went so far to say it was one he had bought in the park.  *shrug*

  10. Here are some pics of the Anovos uniform I took at the Launchbay here in Florida.  There was also some questions about whether these non-anovos caps would match the anovos uniforms.  I took the cap and held it up to the anovos uniform.  Color wise it is close, probably close enough to work.  You can tell the fabric is different though.

Here is the legs, showing the ties.

Here is the neck closure, showing a lack of modesty panel.  Pics are without flash and with.

This is the $25 non-anovos cap that has been for sale at Disney.  Just showing a few pictures of it, plus holding it up to the actual Anovos uniform.

Here is a close up of the closures for the tunic, which are clearly buttons.  That's a good thing.

Just as I was about to leave, I spotted a glop of glue on the code disc on the real anovos cap.

  11. I just made a trip to the launchbay at WDW. I will post some pics soon. I took some pics of the anovos uniform. There does not appear to be a modesty panel. I also took pics of the caps they are selling, which do not appear to be anovos caps, next to the anovos uniform. The color seems to match up quite well, though there is a clear difference in fabric.

  12. I would post pictures but for some reason the image tool doesn't work for me and I cannot paste into the reply.

What I have is what looks like a garment bag on steroids. I was searching for boot bags to transport my boots and a friend suggested I visit an equestrian shop near me. They had a good selection and I had picked out a nice boot bag when I spotted the case I wound up buying. Basically it is a nylon garment bag with pockets for my boots (one either side) and two additional pockets one small one that I use for my belt, boxes and gloves. The other is supposed to hold a riding helmet but that is where I put my hat. To protect it from being crushed I fill the hat with small towels and the under armor shirt that I wear under my tunic. The whole lot goes into a plastic basket then into the pocket. Almost forgot my MSP5 in it's holster goes into the garment section with my uniform.

    Really wanted to post pictures.

That sounds like a really awesome garment bag.  Definitely need pics for this.  How much did it run you?

  13. I also have a 50 gal Home Depot rolling box that I purchased for the TK kit I'll be working on this year.  Ideally I'd like to use it to carry both the officer and TK and have them both with me for any troop so that I can be flexible depending on what character works best.  For those of you who troop as both, is that realistic?

As someone who troops as both a TK and an officer, I would probably say that wont be too feasible.  You could certainly carry the small officer pieces (belt, rank, cylinders) in the 50gal bin, but there wont be any room for boots and the uniform.  And as John said, you would probably get major wrinkles in the uniform if you tried.

  14. I carry mine in a sports bag, boots and soft parts. CPS costume does not easily crease thankfully! Might depend on costume maker I guess.

The thing I want to know is how everyone transports their cap please - in a box or folded....???? My peak has been creased occasionally and the OCD in me kills me to know theres a crease there!

    Cheers.

I keep mine in my bin.  I place my rolled-up belt in the cap and then lay it in the bin upside down (laying down on the top side of the cap).  As the belt unrolls itself, it will push against the sides of the cap and help kinda keep it in a circular shape.  You could accomplish the same thing using a small box and put it in your sports bag.  Of all the pieces of an officer, the cap is probably the one that needs to be protected the most.  As you have experienced, if you get any major creases or crumpling on the cap, it is hard to correct it.  And frankly, you want to have the cap look as crisp and straight as possible.
