Not that there is any issue with this, or any IOC costume, context can be helpful when trooping. If you feel uneasy because of your costume choice in various surroundings, stay close to a Vader, or lead around some armored costumers. Perhaps not be the sole volunteer at little Johnny's B-Day party.

I had the great pleasure to troop with Antje and her uniform for two days and it was absolutely no problem. I don't think you would dress up like this to go shopping, you will always have other troopers around you.
I still think they they've gone a step to far when they created the uniform, because it looks very much like a "Bund deutscher Mädel" uniform, but it's Star Wars, not the third Reich, so I like it very much.

I agree with with Sean and Steven because I also had the chance to troop with Antje in her amazing uniform and as said above, you will almost never see an emigration officer walking alone thru the crowd during a convention.

Accompanied by some handsome Line officers rounds everything down.
It was a marvelous experience trooping adjacent to an emigration officer at Noris Force Con5 and I would do it again without any concern.

Well, i guess it needs guts and self confidence then trooping as emigration officer

There is nothing to stop you trooping with that rank bar and referring to yourself as that character

A while back I tried to get a "generic moff" CRL approved, the idea was shot down as just being the same as a Line Officer.
I also tried to get a Jagged Fel CRL approved, there's just as much official art of him as there is Daala. I was pretty much told that if I would have tried to do Fel 10 years ago I'd have a chance, but not now.

The argument comes back up about once a year of why we, the IOC, don't do CRLs of specific characters.
Our list of CRLs is already quite long and insane could you image if Veers, Panka, Piett, Needa, etc. all got their own separate CRLs

Personally I would love it if we could in fact have a gallery in the CRL of "approved face character options" or something similar. "To be Veers you must have..." etc.
That's pretty much what the level 2 and 3 stuff is for.

I know none of this is the happy answer you wanted, but a story showing that I totally understand what you're going for and dealing with. Best hope you have is that your GML is cool and will understand that CRLs aren't made based on individual characters but trooping in a cannon configuration is encouraged.

As of now the focus will be on the much better documented Lieutenant.  But from stills the Major pictured above is in an Olive colored trenchcoat, and his rank bar, if consistent with other R1/Solo bars would be 3 Reds and 2 Blues for an Army Major (which from what you can see seems to be the case)

Uncomfortable as is way to much like a flasher...trench coat no pants....

Didn’t think of that, I guess the tunic could be optional or removed, was something of a guess from my part. But as was said, you can see Beckett has an Officer tunic on and I am trying to keep it generic. If someone could lighten up a shot of the Major that tries to get Han up, we may see his collar to determine what he is wearing. I’ll look through more screen caps

While I'm no sewing master, I'm fairly sure it's possible with some degree of effort.
Right now, all we can say is it won't be L2/L3 ready right out of the box.
If someone can bring a Cosplaysky uniform up to those standards, I'd wager that a nicer quality uniform like the Anovos, would not be impossible to do the same with.

It's a seam that does nothing, so it's not like it needs to be really strong. It's not load bearing, as it were.

Open the seam between the panel and lining, fold in a little, stitch it up. Maybe 1/4" seam. Then sew the lining closed again.

If the panel is too far off from the bottom of the coat (and I doubt it'll even be noticeable), hem it. It's not enough to make it too short.

You can see the same (or very similar) belt worn by actor, Alan Flyng, when he was getting fitted in this crewman costume for ROTJ.

I believe I'm now ready to start this thread!

I've been doing a lot of research (with tons of help!) on, specifically, the ROTJ Naval Trooper, especially the belt, greeblie, and gloves.

    Current CRL:
    http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:IN_imperial_navy_trooper

    Belt and Greeblie research here:
    Gloves here:
I'm waiting for a sunny day again (hard to find this time of year in New Hampshire) to get my Imperator photos done, but I think the info is out there now well enough that we can work on updating the verbiage for the CRL. I'd love to see updates for both ANH and ROTJ, so if anyone has any input, please please please feel free!

The biggest change for ROTJ is the belt greeblie. I'm not sure how to describe it, so I would just say something like (but less clunky):

    Belt Greeblie for ROTJ
Greeblie is small, rectangular device with a raised circle, as pictured (and I'll take better photos, obviously). There is a metallic inner circle embedded in the raised circle. A translucent set of rectangular "keys" is attached to one end. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Greeblie keys are 5 rectangles Greeblie base color is grey OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Greeblie matches screen-used prop
I'm pretty certain that the horizontal belt boxes should be deleted. I don't recall seeing them on screen at all.

There's also a variant for the belt which has two studs, rather than one! It's rare, only on one (maybe two!) troopers, but it should be included, too. The key to that one is that the buckle is the same height as the belt, as seen here:

On the gloves, they have three lines (not pinched), so we can copy the verbiage from the other CRLs with those style of gauntlet gloves.

Most garrisons have some kind of troop tracker.
We have a pretty fancy one for Florida since we have so many events http://fl501st.com/trooper-tracker/
Looks like I'm currently at 417 troops since 10/31/10.

Very interesting proposal, and refreshing to see some passion for our hard working crewmen!
We already have Command Divisions which are IOC members grouped geographically, and the Firebirds, consisting of our participating female members.
I don't think we've had much push, if any, for a particular internal IOC group based on a costume alone. Could be a swell idea.
I'd like to hear more thoughts about this.
