  1. Take the accessories from the ANH, ESB and ROTJ, swap the headset for a blaster and you've got the TIE Reserve.

This TIE Reserve costume was designed for new recruits who were building a full TIE to get issued their TI tkid numbers and have a troopable costume whilst waiting for armour. This wait was anything up to 2 years at one point.

Many crewmen also clear as TIE reserves, and many TIE Reserves also clear as crewmen. If you want another costume on your 501st profile, then go for it! Just remember the differences between the costumes, and the trooping awards (e.g. don't claim two credits for one troop).

Holding Hask up to Luke Skywalker is a bit of a reach don't you think? XD

Separate CRL's creates a bunch of work when we come to amend something. Hux underwent a huge overhaul and was vastly improved. That was a while ago and the Generic General is still sat as it was, so now if someone wanted to clear a General they would be held to a different standard as someone wanting to clear specifically a Hux when its the same costume??

Let's not be scared of a bunch of work, let be scared of poorly understood CRL's.

The point here is that it is clearly not "the same costume".

We should always push for better accuracy and understanding.

Being too generic is just crazy and with the added language translation issues for a worldwide organisation, we need to keep things simple, not convenient for the CRL writers.

As for Hask being held up to Skywalker...... at least he didn't just fade away

  3. Are these actually in production yet?
A number of people raise a good point about the zipper being technically incorrect. Which is true. However, if it is well hidden, then this will almost certainly be acceptable.
My concern for ultra accuracy on these boots are the sole and the shine.
If you can't get or wear genuine Knobelbecher boots, then these are a very good second best. They surpass a lot of boots kicking around (excuse the pun).

  4. Need to see more detail, but the pockets appear to be in the right place and proportion (can't see a compad pocket though).
They're is some current discussion about pointed collars. These have pointed collars, so to me they "appear" to be designed to 501st specification.
Until I see one in person, in great detail, I can't say, "yes" or "no" to these.

  5. Hi Scott,

I have now reviewed your submission for ROTJ Imperial Bridge Crew.

Unfortunately, the gauntlets you have don't pass inspection, as they have three stitched lines on the back of the hands.

For ROTJ crewman the gauntlets need to be free of decorative stitching.

The remainder of your costume certainly reaches the L2 standard.

Going forward you will need to either replace the gloves, or submit for an ESB or ANH crewman (but changing compad and code cylinder configuration).

If you need any clarification, please let me know.

  6. Hi Ricky,

I have now reviewed your costume, and would like a little more information and a change.

Could you please post a photograph of the following?

    • A close-up of the material
    • A close-up of the gloves

Your costume does seem to be a little crumpled at the arms and the knees.  Is there any way you can reduce this somehow (ironing, tailoring, pulling tighter)?

In general you’ve got a very high standard costume.  I do especially like your Great-coat!

But there is one thing, unfortunately, that does not meet the high standard of the rest of your costume.

The flap on your hat is too tall and the angle of the cut at the front (near the ears) is too vertical.

Also, the brim points more forward than it should.  This picture should explain what I’m trying to say.

Hopefully this is something that can easily be fixed.

If you’ve got any questions, then please let me know.

Very, very good effort so far.

  7. Hi Jonathan,

I have had a cursory look at your photos, and they do all appear to be out of focus.

I would need to see clear high resolution photos.

Please also look at the Cleared Executors http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/forum/104-cleared-executors/ to get a feel for the type of photograph and just how crisp, spick and span your costume needs to be.

I think you will need to tailor the suit a little before you do submit, but I believe you have a good base to work from.  I suggest getting in contact with a IOC advisor who will be able to assist you in this.  If not then please let me know.

Once you are ready to submit, please follow the instructions here.

    Good luck

  8. I can see exactly what you are saying about your hat. It certainly does have a Bast look to it. So as there is a lack of screen evidence for Tagge's hat, and Bast is in the same timeline and type of service, I am inclined to agree with you. If Tagge wore a hat, it probably would have looked like Bast's.

So now we come to the jodhpurs. Again, there is lack of evidence to dictate the style of jodhpurs that Tagge's actually wore. This is why I opted to go down the ESB route. From what you've said above, you've decided to go down the Rogue One route. The same logic I used for the hat equally applies to the jodhpurs. So I see no problem with you going down the Rogue One option. That said, I still think that the flairs are still not quite right for Rogue One. The lower cut is more or less correct, but I think the upper outward curve is a little too much. I'll supply a diagram once I get in front of a PC that allows me to show you what mean.

    Does that all make sense?

  9. Hello Nicholas,

I've had a look at your costume again, and I'm really sorry to inform you that your costume has top stitching (i.e. stitching that is visible).

There is a L1 requirement that stipulates, "Tunic is constructed with no top-stitching (stitches visible on the exterior surface of fabric)".

So it is with sincere regret that I cannot progress with your promotion at this time.

Please feel free to contact me to discuss this further.
