I definitely agree with the tactical impracticality of the white bronco chase lol. However I understood Finn turning to Maz. The dudes only met like five people since leaving the first order, one of whom is dead now, making Maz the only smuggler hes ever become acquainted with. besides the clone trooper in the red helmet that was going to take him to the outer rim. Though I do wonder why Poe doesnt pipe up with some of his contacts. From the comics theyve already released theyve confirmed that Poe has been around.

Well for me, the white bronco chase in space was a massive tactical error.  Jump a couple of ships up front and it's all over.  Luke's hobo Jedi part was not where I would have thought of it going. And killing him off was excessive for me. He could have played out more in the story.  Then Leia living all the way through was a cool thing. But with carries sadly passed away. Where does here character go from here? All that's left is chewie and the droids.  Then on to Finn and Rose's excursion to the casino.  Well why did that have to happen? They didn't get the guy maz sent them after. And why turn to maz in the first place? Finn barely knows her. New Jedi placement at end of the movie is all I got from that.

Ugh.  Cinimasins is going to have a field day with this one. Check out his tfa video. It's funny as heck.

On many major events with hundreds of members in costume, we are used to have the officers to guide the groups which wear helmets. These officers are responsible for guiding the troopers through the day, organize the stops and the photo-services for the visitors. If theses officers need to wear glasses, they should keep them on all the time. They have to take care for others (troopers AND fans) which weights in far more than a costume accuracy in this moment. This was spoken from the point of an event-coordinator.

From the point of the nit-picking "Akkurazzi" (funny term here in Germany for accuracy-loving nerds) I am voting against glasses - especially for face characters. But this is a ridicolous point of view, as we are not in space but only pretending to be there  Of course the glasses shall be spared for approval-photos.

But to be realistic: we can't deny any member to wear theirs glasses because these are a medical need for some, especially for those who can't take contact lenses. If some take the glasses off for pictures it is perfectly fine and makes the photo look better. But as we can see: even in the Star Wars universe we have characters wearing glasses. This is no shame- it's human

I wouldn't worry about it.  If you can remove them for photos, great.  But you gotta be able to see.
Heck, I wear sunglasses when we troop outside.  I gotta be able to see.

    !!!SPOILERS!!!
I'm also with the "Like some parts didnt like other parts" fraction. Even with the chase they could have made a movie without so many logic errors. I mean over seven movies we travelled all around the galaxy, from one planet, one system to another, NEVER having any thoughts like "hm, what does my fuel gage say?" even when the Rebellion was really under pressure they never had any problems regarding the fuel. Don't understand me wrong, it makes total sense that the Resistance is short on this, but bringing it up now reeks like plot convenience. Only to remind people "yes, also the spaceships in Star Wars need fuel".
Regarding the chase once more, Hux let the TIE-Fighters and Kylo return because the Star Destroyers were not able to give cover during their attack. How many TIE-Fighters did they have on all these First Order ships, including Snokes Supremacy? Half a million? A million? I don't know, but if I would have been in command I would have send all of them after the resistance ships, because cover or not, they would not have had any chance to survive. We saw what Kylo did to that hangar, one single fighter!
And sadly some of the main characters would have had nothing to do during the chase, so of course we need to send them on a complete nonsense mission to find a hacker who could disable the tracking system, for eight minutes. And this only because some certain Vice Admiral is not able to tell the Crew "Look, we are heading for a secret rebell base from the days of old. Stay calm and prepare your departure, make sure not to leave any personal items behind. When we reach the base we will simply let the First Order pass by and then call for help. So there is no need for any solo action." *looking into Poes direction*

Now some positive things, I really liked Luke, of course it would have been great seeing him saying to Rey "Let's go, let's fight the First Order." but I think the way he did act made the "fight" at the end so much more impressing. This confrontation was one of the best of all Star Wars 1:1 fights in my eyes. It's sad he died, because now no one of the old trilogy is left for Ep. IX. I also liked the appearance of Yoda, was a cool moment. The opening sequence was awesome, but the obvius jokes should have ended with Poe making fun of Hux. The most honest statement was, by Captain Canady or Hux - not sure anymore, "What is the sense of all this, if we can't stop three ships.", so true.

There are still many things I did not talk about but I think this post is long enough for now, it seems I had to talk this off my soul. Happy reading and feel free to agree or to argue

I voted “like some parts didn’t like some parts”. I mean I still liked the movie but it’s certainly not one of the best in my opinion.

I got pretty annoyed that they made Hux comic relief pretty much in every scene he was in. It would ha e been okay once or twice but when you do it too much it takes away from the threatening factor that one of the main villain characters should have. He’s the main officer character in these films and it’s just bad that they made him comic relief to that extent, especially as someone who’s a fan of the officer characters.

I feel like maybe I'm in the minority here as I loved The Last Jedi. I had some minor reservations, but after seeing it a second time, they went away and it's now my second-favorite behind Empire.

And if we're keeping statistics, I'm an original gen fan, too.

    [/END OF MODERATOR NOTE]

This the official guide to illustrate all canon officer ranks recognized by the IOC. It is compiled with reference from the original movies, and official EU sources. It is created from a costuming point of view, and not meant to explain every rank's importance or how they differ from movie to movie (that's what fan fiction is for). It is just a simple chart that shows what rank officially goes on what costume. Code cylinders are intentionally excluded, and can be referenced in the CRLs.

Note Rogue one/Solo ranks are only compatible with Rogue one uniform style

I lost count of how many times the lag in Starfighter Assault killed me (blasted debris).  And now I see blokes running around with "personal shields" and suped-up blasters...  Its really a detriment.  I feel really bad for people who bought this with the thought that they could have a bit of family fun together.

I'm curious about the petition mentioned above.  Might even consider signing it myself.  Maybe it'll convince them to bring back LucasArts.

I know most of y’all are hard core ORIGINAL SW. I am a new gen fan (don’t eat me...) but I found this post on facebook that is TOTALLY worth a read!
I am in love with the new trilogy and think TLJ was amazing. And you can say nothing to change my mind. A lot of the fans I have talked to are mad about the way Luke was written but just read this and see if that changes your view at all.

This is one thing that I think that everyone can agree was done right:
In the English language version, the voice of Yoda was provided by the original and best actor for the part, Frank Oz.

And now I feel like checking what other languages are available on my Star Wars dvds ...

No problem mate, that's why we are here for, to chat about it
And Jedi's being a bit weird when they get old is truly the proper term, I was thinking the same

May I ask you guys something?
Maybe it's just a problem when you are not living in an english speaking country.
I want to know, how did the english voice of Yoda sound ? I'm asking because the german voice was so awful and improper that it pulled me right out of the movie.
It didn't sound in no way like the voice in all the other Star Wars movies with Yoda.
In my opinion you should can watch all SW movies in a row and the voice of every character should at least sound similar to the voice of the same character in the movie before.
Same thing happend to the german voice of Darth Vader. A good example is the special edition from 1997. In "empire" the scene were Vader bows down to speak to Palpatine in his private chamber. His voice was so different and "not" Vader like. You could instantly tell that this was a different dubbing actor.
Vaders voice was way too high with almost no "dark" bass in it like the voice of the dubbing actor who did the original trilogy in german.
And that is something that really disturbs me a lot, it almost hurts
Back to my question again, did the english voice of Yoda sound similar to the one in the original trilogy?

I dunno, I liked it but I don't think it was as good as any of the other original films, or even TFA. Initially I thought Hobo Luke might work - we saw Yoda living like a hermit in a fairly unpleasant way, and Obi Wan was a bit of a desert rat as well, so there's a grand tradition amongst elder Jedi of being a bit... weird. I genuinely thought Luke was doing a Yoda - trying to test Rey's patience before revealing his true nature, but then I realised the whole thing was serious. We did get to see Rey being cool and patient and serious about getting Luke's help but we didn't get the right payoff. Seeing Yoda was cool though, but I think his character was a bit weird. Very much stuck on the 'crazy old man' act he was putting on in Episode V rather than the sage wise Jedi he actually turned out to be.

I think my - and many fans' - problem with the concept of the Jedi not being the be all and end all of the Force is that we've seen it before and done far better. In The Clone Wars we saw the Jedi order being portrayed as inefficient and decadent, and in Rebels we had Ahsoka who properly eschewed the Jedi Order to do things in a different way. Luke's way of doing it just wasn't very interesting, and it would have been better, I think, to have Rey realise the Jedi had to end on her own. That avoids a belovéd character being turned into something he really isn't, and gets the same message across.

I don't really mind killing Snoke off - he was far too much a Surrogate Palpatine, and it's good to move past that with a younger man at the helm and a different master-apprentice dynamic between Kylo and Hux. The casino scene as trencher mentioned seemed... a bit superfluous, but the ending battle scene was good fun. Don't get all the Rose hate, frankly, and Phasma could have had a better send off.

This turned into a slightly longer post than intended... sorry chaps...

That might be a bit much for two-and-a-half hours (or whatever it's going to be).  How about - right after Imperial service, already met Chewie (the circumstances of which cause his discharge, if I remember right), meets Lando, and smuggling shenanigans, with hints at past.

I'm most excited for Donald Glover as Lando.
We know there's a big Imperial presence in this movie, we know Chewie is in the movie, and we know we're getting our first actual look at Kessel.
So my prediction of what we're going to see: young orphan Han on the streets, grows up and joins the Empire, defects and saves Chewie, wins the Falcon from Lando, does the Kessel run.

Yes, it adds more depth of character to him. And it shows where he got his skill at flying from.
