buckrogersbarker got a reaction from AdmiralJag in Non Saga Boots Discussion
This is an important discussion I would like everyone to be a part of. There are two parts to it.
One, we want to reflect all of the officer boots used with these uniforms particularly with the non saga officer uniforms.
Two, we want to be as accurate as possible with what we allow in the CRLs.
But collecting all of this information will provide greater options that we want available to those who utilize it.

buckrogersbarker reacted to chicken45 in Dedra Meero CRL?
My unofficial thoughts:
Gentle reminder: we are not the RPF. We have to draw the line somewhere. ALL costumes can really get in the weeds with details. I myself, am also an ANH Vader and there's plenty of beyond level 3 details out there.
Based on non saga precedent, we seem to be moving away from face officers that can be replicated with standard parts. I think Meero's tunic is different because she's the star: the first live action female officer. Everyone else gets stuff off the rack. The uniforms overall seem to be tailored to the folks wearing them. I don't think those subtle production differences necessitate a new CRL. ANH and anthology tunics have taller collars and longer shirts. Jerjerrod has the only olive double yoke.
We only have a handful of face officers as CRLs, but none of them recently. @buckrogersbarker can speak to those reasons. We don't have a Petigar or Yularen CRL because they can be made from the ISB Non Saga. We don't even have old school ANH Yularen CRL despite him being 50% of the ISB uniforms from ANH. I wanted to do an Andor Yularen, but that's just making a new CRL just for the sake of making a new CRL. It's superfluous.
Zooming out a little bit and looking back, I also think we need to stay away from formalizing colors. Just look at the olive uniform color variations. Cosplaysky's green is its own thing and we still allow that. Sure, it's fun to overanalyze (it's who we are as IOC, and it's part of why we are here), but I think our job is to come with basic standards and not get lost in things like "Supervisor Gordy's tunic is slightly whiter" and put that into a CRL.

We are cleared by the LMOs to have anyone create this costume. There are enough references to it. Show your work and we will work with you to get a CRL created and we will submit the costume to them.

buckrogersbarker reacted to chicken45 in The Rank Bar Detail Page
The page we are updating is here:
https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:Imperialrankbar
The approved rank bars are here.
You will notice this is every possible permutation. This is a quick reference guide for the GMLs to say "oh yeah, this is approvable." This is to clear up any misconceptions about which ranks are allowed.
@buckrogersbarker has his comprehensive rank chart here:

buckrogersbarker reacted to chicken45 in The Rank Bar Detail Page
Howdy folks!
We are updating the rank bar detail page to have more information on it.
We started a few weeks ago by adding the approved rank chart.
It would be great if we can add some more information. Really get in to the weeds with the details.
Talk about things like
The ROTJ rank fiasco
Mando goofy tile spacing
Veers's rank badge spacing (and the rest of the double rank bars that aren't fleet admiral)
Which badges had thread holes in them.
Lt. Gorn's rank badge from that one scene that looks like smaller buttons.
Can you think of more?

buckrogersbarker reacted to Tutanchseth in CRL proposal Jayhold Beehaz Gala Uniform (Andor)
Hi, just adding some thoughts after reading the draft und watching the screens:
I'm unsure if the collar is similar to the one we know. I checked the pics and I don't see the characteristic gap or any hint that there's a hook and eye closure. In one picture it looks almost like a mandarin collar. I tried to makle a quick sketch of what I mean:
Something else that caught my eye is the gala belt and the black trim below the shoulder: Could it be that the gala belt goes through there? It looks at least almost so.
I hope you're able to get the correct fabric, as far as I know is Feldgrau (not that one, but the one used mostly for Line/Military Officers in Germany) only a custom produced run by the weaving mill and I don't know if they produce other shades of this color.

I think we have enough reference photos here. I will draft an email to the LMO office to get their permission to proceed. It will take a week for them to vote on it.

buckrogersbarker got a reaction from CalaZhan in Questions for the current Republic Officer The Clone Wars anime CRL
I don't know if it can be made the way you are showing.
It is a CG model first and foremost and there is no exact one to one interpretation to the real world with CG models because to make one of these there are additional seams so it won't look like a bag.
The seam you are pointing at is off the shoulder. The Thrawn animated bells are tough enough, I am not sure how this could be done. And it is not conclusively shown to be a feature in many of the later animations through the series.
Still if you want to make it and you can show your references and it comes out ok, we would consider adding this to the CRL as an option that can be done.

buckrogersbarker reacted to Jean in Imperial Navy trooper R1
@chicken45 @buckrogersbarker
So, at this point we would have
1-The crewman (with the jumpsuit and everything) as the picture that I posted above
2-The navy with jumpsuit as I originally posted
3-the helmet added as an accessory of the ISS officer in R1
4-The navy in dress uniform as Kenobi
I agree with this
What do you think about?. Thank you for your help!!!

Some changes here to the flightsuit. It has the invisible zipper that is part of all OT flight suits but removed the ribbed nylon webbing that covers the zipper for the Rogue One pilots.
Black Imperial Flight Suit One piece flight suit is made out of nylon with a front invisible zipper. Zipper is hidden. Mandarin collar with a chevron shape. A silver embroidered or silver PVC Rogue One Imperial cog emblem, on a black background, is present on both shoulders. Both Shoulder cogs must have one spoke aligned with shoulder seam (one cog spoke in the 12 o'clock position) Emblems are approximately 3” diameter On the left forearm there is a compad pocket, with no flap and a window in it. Size might vary slightly to match specific compad. On the left bicep, below the cog emblem, there is a code cylinder pocket with no flap, and vertical stitching dividing it into pen sleeves. A piece of 1" nylon strapping is sewn below the pen sleeve openings and is the same length as the top of the pocket. A piece of 1.5” nylon webbing is used to cover the front zipper The bottom front corner of the pocket is cut off at a bevel on the side pointing in view direction, with the broader upside forming the border of the pen sleeves. The right sleeve has a cargo pocket on the bicep below the cog emblem. The pocket has a small chevron flap. Two (2) large chest pockets and (2) large front pockets below the belt, without any zipper or flaps. Both top chest pockets and below the belt pockets touch the edge of the belt area Two (2) leg pockets with chevron flaps, similar in proportion as the right arm sleeve pocket. Size may vary - (Typically the width of the front pockets equals the width of the leg pockets).
OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Shoulders are slightly padded. The front zipper Velcro closure is left over right. Imperial cog patches on the shoulders are PVC rather than embroidered. Suit uses dark grey thread Code Cylinder pocket has six sleeves. three short, one long and flat, and the last two are pleated. OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Shoulder cog emblem is 3.1 inches. -
