buckrogersbarker reacted to Exaldear in Admiral Versio - Battlefront 2
You just bumped Leia up my reading list.
I think we could have a "generic" CRL with options for Versio as L2

uniforms.... for an entire military? I like that.
Most face characters should be a level 3 thing.

If we take the new canon seriously - and why shouldn´t we do this cause thats´s the reason they created the Lucasfilm Story Group - there´s a high chance that there are more ISB-Admirals than Garrick.
Thats´s my conclusion after i finished the new Leia novel where a greater number of Grand Admirals and Directors (Krennic) were mentioned.
A possible approach could be to 'generic' CRL for a ISB Admiral with a Lvl 2/3 auxiliary for Garrick Versio in person.

Not as many sew lines on the hat either.

We got our first real look at Admiral Versio from the new Battlefront 2 game today. He'll be giving missions to Inferno squad around the time of Return of the Jedi. His uniform is a fusion of the ANH and the Rogue One ISB tunics. More photos to follow.

I´d suggest a new CRL. Although it´s 'only' an other variant of the ISB uniform, it´ll be difficult to get the information ot of a CRL that tries to illustrate three different versions of a costume. I know that this is en vogue in other detachments, but IMHO it makes them nearly unreadable.
As a quick shot i´d also suggest to put the unnecessary (and ugly) center-seam in a possible Lvl 3 requirement so it´s up to the creator wether or not to add it to the uniform.

The uniform of Admiral Versio appears completely different to what we know to be an ISB-tunic. Even though some Details match, some other differ quite a lot.
On the front, the right side of double breasts upper edge ends a few more centimeters lower than on an ISB-tunic. And of course there are code-cylinder-pockets.
The Admirals rankbar has of course nothing to do with the well known ISB-Major-Rankbar. The hats front bill has five stitches (they have just met the CRL - lucky game-Designers ). And the notch? Yeah, just give a it turn to 6 o'clock - maybe Versio is in deep grief about the Emperors death.
Concerning the collar it looks like there is no modesty Panel. The Clips of the code-cylinders have nothing to do with the classic ones we usually wear. Unless they tried to replicate the way Tarkin used his Clips by only hooking the cylinders up on the small upper hook.
On his back we can see the princess-seams (it's curve is way more tightend than we know it) and an additional center-seam in the middle. I do not know yet, if I like that...
Once again we get reminded, that game Designers and Animators do not have a good sense for real-life-tailoring
But let's see what we can construct from these Basics Hopefully a new CRL, maybe?

buckrogersbarker reacted to ssloan in UK source for Olive Fabric
Hi Robert
I've just noticed the discussion in the "HOWTOs, Tips and Tricks" forum about supply of gabardine fabric. I have no idea how I missed that one!
I must say I'm really excited by the prospect of two possible sources of supply for the Olive fabric
I'd be really interested in helping out in any way I can, even if it's just registering an interest at this time.
Regards
Steven

That is good detail on the cuffs. How much of it is rubberized and how much of it might be a modern mercury bead trenchcoat fabric is something we will need to find out.
we have had great success in the legion asking the costume makers directly about costumes. These questions could be asked to them.

that is the beauty of it. They just pretty much grabbed an existing trench coat that was in good supply. The only thing that makes it Star Wars is the belt and belt boxes.
Now it is going to get a lot more scrutiny than that. But there is no reason why this can't be off the shelf, in every size and available for everyone. But most importantly, it WILL work to keep you dry in that Irish weather.

May be it is like those female fashion WHERE BUTTONS ARE NEVER THERE.....or there is a really small hook kind that can not see from this clips or a magget on the coat which I did see before.
The fabric look kind the waterproof fabric I saw at the store early on For the black one.
But one thing good about the coat it can be abit bigger size then the user.
the closest pattern I found online that is this. just have to edit here and there. and boom the coat.

not the same sadly. Not the right fabric and completely missing the pleated cape portion on the top of the back.

that is just about all of them. The guy smiling in the second to last photo passed by two black uniformed (and trenchcoated) officers who are with a Twilek. That is why he is smiling.
To my understanding this is a Belgian Army motorcycle trenchcoat. I am trying to acquire one for reference. In the meantime I am working with a costume replica company to help produce one. They do not have the Star Wars license, but the only thing that makes this Star Wars is the belt and belt boxes. Doing the trench coat as seen should be fair game and they are working on a prototype. I would be glad to share the results with people here.
I have two other costume jackets that they have made. Both were not just of impressive accuracy, but quality that would make it last for years. They specialize in outer garment wear. I could get one myself made, but I want to have a place that everyone can go and get one.
I am starting on the green one. I gave them a swatch of the fabric used to make my uniform so they can color match. I'll let you know what I find out.

It makes more sences to have it as a same design. It makes it easy for the movie people to sew it in a mass. Because for them half of the time you can not see them or they are getting blow up. XD

Yes, I am here. Even though Antje Walzel an I have not yet offered the fabric here. But if the IOC allows this kind of order (collective pre-paid-order) we could start this here too.

buckrogersbarker reacted to Steven in Gabardine sourcing question...
In my Garrison we are three future Line Officers who ordered fabric at the run of the German Garrison. The more we are, the cheaper the fabric costs will be. As far as I know Marc (he got just awarded for 25 troops) here at the forum is the man to talk with.

Absolutely best Rebels Thrawn I have seen so far! Congratulations it's amazing!

buckrogersbarker got a reaction from Exaldear in Rebels uniform insignia rank etc
more important is the concept of double stacked ranks being seen on screen with single stacked ranks. A lot of people had assumed that the double stacked ranks came out of a reorganization that occurred after the Battle of Yavin, but they appeared on screen with the very first episode of Rebels set 5 years BBOY. They represent different things. Even Pablo Hildalgo stated in the Rogue One visual guide that many of the ranks that are single rowed are representative to sector conventions not found in other parts of the Galactic Empire. The double stacked ranks are more Galactic Empire wide.
This would make sense if the Emperor wanted the Death Star built far from the eyes of the Senate. It would not be a project run by the regular starfleet, but one under the absolute control of a loyal Grand Moff in far off sectors.
