Pryce was a stellar villain, I loved her throughout the series and through reading Thrawn. It's a shame she'd "served her purpose" I guess but she was a brilliant character. <3 She remains on the "to do" costume list.

Also worth remembering: Alliance is due to be set, I think, between series 3 and series 4. So we're not going to be given any information regards what happened after the jump.

Which ALSO means... the doors are wide open for MORE Thrawn content.  Aw yissss

A lot of mixed feelings from me. I've been a big fan of the series, admittedly haven't followed it from the beginning. Came in a little late. XD But.. yeah it felt a little bit "...oh, okay" for me.
Excited to see what the future holds though, now that this is tied up reasonably neatly.

I really, really want to see Sabine's adventures post-finale.

    Spoiler-ish? maybe?

If we don't see their adventures on the hunt for Ezra in another animated series, Sabine or you-know-who would be a great second POV character for a Thrawn book, as Pryce was to the first one.

Hello and good day to you!

My name is Dawn Bright and I am a LMO with the 501st Legion and happy to help.

TLDR: Just submit the finished costume to your GML and he should know the rest.

    Long Answer
-A CRL that is marked with this should still be submitted normally to your local GML.
-The GML will post it on a secondary board and solicit feedback from the Detachment Staff or LMO.
    -The feedback will be recieved
-You will receive the feedback or be approved.

The reason a CRL is not "green lit" right away is that the Detachment or LMOS feel that there is an error but its good enough for release. All people approved before a CRL is greenlit will still be approved and grandfathered in.
    such as the...
    https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ID_First_Order_Colonel_and_Major

Just skimming this CRL I note that there's not much there in way of parts but the colors of the jacket are perhaps a taste off or maybe we wanted a clearer shot and something is blurry...
    or
We are physically missing parts of this crl due to us only being able to see portions in the movie (this is a rarer occurrence that the earlier example) Its very rare we will ever release a CRL and say "Good enough" though this happens.

This CRL needs help and until help from the Detachment comes it will remain in this status. Some crls will remain this way indefinitely. In the end its not that much work for a GML (which is nice) and offers a bit of guidance from the Detachment Staff.

Green Lit: These are ones that can be approved by your GML alone such as...
    https://databank.501st.com/databank/Kylo_Ren

That CRL is live and ready and free to be approved by any GML. Its been nitpicked to death and everyone is in agreement.

    Hope that helps!
    Have a nice day,

No green line officers wore green ponchos in Rogue One because they never made any.  Black security branch officers wore black ponchos.... and Krennic had his.

this may be different with the upcoming Solo movie, but we will have to see.  I want a green one anyway because I will wear it to cons, not official Troops.

It makes sense that they would be there, but to do so would open the door to a lot of things that “make sense” in some people’s minds but not to others.  So for now......

I don't want to get off topic, but as a GML I'll always vote for a detailed description as I'm the one who has to proof the finished costume and I'm the one who has to argue on a factual basis whether or not the discussed pocket is approvable or not. If I only have a vague description that's unnecessay difficult. Also a lot of applicants read through CRL to check if their costumes fit the requirements. I know that the applicants shouldn't do that and come here for advise, but according to my experience in three years being an GML that happens in less then 5% of all applications and we have hundreds a year. So not only the GMLs, but also all applicants benefit from detailed descriptions.

I absolutly agree with @xAlpha that adding good pictures of details to the CRL will be a real help on that front, but as long as this feature is in the development process I'd like to add the details in the text. I'm neither a native speaker nor a tailor, but with a little help from google I was able to solve all obscurities within two minutes until now.

Taking up the original thread again: I'd like to see @GDMorti proposed wording included in the CRL draft.

"code cylinder pocket has a faintly visible seam just below the opening (cylinder pockets are one-sided piped pockets)"

A sort of "details" gallery or links to specific areas of the costumes that have a very specific required look would be amazing, and super helpful!

And returning to the terminology etc for CRL's @Exaldear you say that the inclusion of techniques would cause you to switch off, however my proposal is that the laymans term is -always- included first as a visual descriptor of what you need to be aiming to replicate. Then, if a technical term exists, it would be included in brackets as an expansion on that information. It wouldn't be more than a couple of extra words. A layman or someone who has no interest in searching the term or learning what the technical term means doesn't have to do any extra work, yet the information is there for those who want that little bit more?

In my opinion, as someone who doesn't understand the technical terms, I would rather learn them so I could forward them to a professional who will be making the costume. Tailor or Seamstress or not, if you're gonna make the costume yourself or have a professional do it you gotta know the correct terms. Adding pictures to the details on the CRLs would help alot with understanding the technical terms.

Tutanchseth reacted to GDMorti in Is this a good buy? (CosplaySky) + Question
I picked up an olive CosplaySky uniform because they were doing various sales and it came out really cheap. I made sure to tick the box that said it would be custom made to my measurements, which was an extra $25ish or so. I then wrote a full War&Peace of my measurements in the box provided.

The fit is actually very good! The fabrics aren't great and don't feel like the most luxe in the world, but you get what you pay for! The only two gripes I have for the CosplaySky uniforms out of the box is that the collars don't often close very well (there's also a lot of discussion about adding a modesty panel on the collar to boost your accuracy and hide any unsightly gaps at the throat showing skin!) and the flare in the pants is ridiculous. Elephant ears!
I recommend getting the front and back of the flares in the pants interfaced with a woven interfacing, and then get those flares tapered in to better match the flare seen on screen. It's really not that wide, and shouldn't stick out further than the flare at the bottom of the tunic. It should follow the line of the bottom of the tunic, and then curve back inward, not bellow out.

I hope this help! Look forward to seeing what you go for.

Oh great another inconsistency. Thank you very much Lucas Film.

If you look at the screen caps from Rogue One you can see that Lieutenant Milton Putna wears two belt boxes but does not have a code cylinder in his left pocket. (Edit:) We cannot see if he wears one in his right pocket or not. You cannot see the empty right pocket on my reference but Stefan has posted one on the first page of this thread where you see it.  So perhaps he has a no code cylinders at all.  I  got to correct myself. He has no code cylinders at all.(End of Edit.)

On page 147 of the Star Wars Rogue One - The Ultimate Visual Guide he wears one code cylinder in each pocket but no belt boxes.
(Edit:) So it is the exact opposite of the film. (End of Edit.)

Wow thats' a lot of work for something I thought is only a small adjustement to an existing CRL. Sometimes I thinkl the costume department just want to see the world burn. I'm frightened to look an any referernce picture to see an other detail that we missed until now. ^^

We don’t have long to wait to hear what these are called.  There is an entire scene where Han Solo picks his service branch and what he does. I think we will be getting proper names shortly.

I haven't yet played Battlefront, but dug up some old convos about those pinholes in other officer badges from the movies.  It is amazing that they picked out that tiny little detail and made sure to put it in the game, yet changed so many other things about the uniform and bars!

I have to check my screens when I'm back to work. As long as the majority of the Staff personell wears the 'classic' boots I see no reason to include the 'FO' boots. At least we know now that they recycle everythimg they have at Pinewood.

And don't worry Stefan, I didn't want to hijack this thread to start a discussion about wther or not to change the name of the Line Officer CRL.
And I'd also vote for a single additional CRL beside the ANH variant, whatver the name will be.

Thanks, Steven. I do the best I can to serve the Galatic Empire.

What about the name I found for the green officers in Rogue One? On page 117 of the Star Wars Rogue One - The Ultimate visual Guide Captain Shaef Corrsin, which is wearing what we call a line officer uniform, is called a "Imperial Navy officer". I would really prefer to call them "Imperial Navy officer" instead of line officer and it does also sound a lot better as the name Starfleet officer that @buckrogersbarker suggested, which sound to much like Star Trek to me.

The black officers in Rogue one are definitively security officers. I am quoting the Lieutenant Milton Putna entry from page 147 of the Star Wars Rogue One - The Ultimate visual Guide   "A librarian-turned-security officer, Putna is well versed with the layout of the datatape library tree. Acess into the main vault door is keyed to his palm print."

Mh, if it's correct that the black uniform they used in Rogue One will also be seen in Solo I don't think it's a good idea to name in after one movie. But I don't like "Pre ANH" , BBY Staff Officer" or other variants either.
We could go for "security service"s for the uniforms before and "staff officer" after ANH, but I'm afraid that will confuse people more than it helps.
