I think this is good, I may do both depending on my schedule.

Gonna look into it. Man I miss Orlando more and more.
Or as Lando would say, "this deal keeps getting worse all the time."
Indeed!! We wouldn't be having all these issues down there.

With the weather being rainy on Friday morning as well as Sunday morning, perhaps these inside stairs should be our new photo location for the IOC.
-
I'm fine with it, but I know there are other officers that will not be able to make it unfortunately.

I just want to add that the Photographer we have lined up is Only able to make the Sunday @ 10am time as well. This may be a big contributing factor as well.
Well, that would seem to decide it then.

Interesting. Even if I don't bring a blaster for my staff officer, I am bringing a blaster for Commander Cody. I may just put some colored tape on the muzzle just to be safe, but if not required I can just take it off easily.

ReedPop, the host of the con has done another general Comic Con for years called C2E2 (which is also at McCormick Place). The weapons policy is exactly the same and blasters, lightsabers, etc have always been allowed at C2E2.
Typically security will want to look at the weapon, and upon determining it is not real, will put a zip tie or band on it indicating it has been inspected, this is at least my past experience.
They can be hard plastic, resin, or even have metal bits, so long as they aren't built from a deactivated actual firearm (or pellet gun, airsoft gun, etc).Did they require orange tips on the muzzle?

So I guess we should find out not long after. The above quote is on page 3 of the Galactic March post on the main 501st forums.

Hopefully this helps, I believe the Sunday group photo is before the start of Celebration and outside the venue. I recommend verifying, but it seems you shouldn't need a pass to be part of the picture.
I would tend to agree with you, no reason you would need a pass to be outside.

Either works for me but Sunday might be slightly better.

I am flying, but I am shipping my Commander Cody armor, so I'd just put the blaster in with that if I decide to bring one.
-
Anyone bothering to bring a blaster with you to Celebration? I am debating if I want to or not.
-
Definitely in for the photo, but I'll have to miss the mixer. Already committed o the CTD dinner.

Looks like once the slots are filled they will post a list. https://www.501st.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=215&t=102832

Signed up as Staff Officer. I had planned on being in officer mode on Saturday anyhow.
-
Just found out the other day I can make it and will be staying at the Hyatt with some Garrison mates. Will fly in either Wednesday or maybe Thursday and leaving on Monday. I'll probably be in my staff officer Friday Afternoon for the IOC photo and Saturday all day. Friday Morning and Sunday I'll be in Commander Cody.

I bet after the Han Solo movie comes out that we'll get a few more ranks!
-
I just got an SE-14r for my upcoming Deathtrooper build, but I'll probably use it for a Line Officer sometimes when I get that uniform done. In the meantime though my wife might steal it to use with her Line Officer!
-
As Nocternus said it depends on your Garrison,. But the general rule that I have heard is for non-canon troops (which is mostly what we do) you can wear a blaster if you wish. For canon troops, which are few and far between, Line officers should not wear blasters.

Photobucket changed the way they operate and now will charge you to host photos. I've dumped them completely and moved everything to Flikr, I still need to update the links to posts though.
