  1. only 1 more day of school left and then summer vacation!  the conquest of finishing trachta shall begin on Thursday at 12:00 pm est.  i hope to get him done by the end of june or beginning of july.

also summer has lovely weather to work in.

  2. well, i think i took a long enough break from cvii. now it is time to get back to work...

the warm season is finally here!  this weekend (after test)  i shall begin to remake the cybernetic arms.

i am planning on making a mold of my arms and constructing the arms out of liquid latex and possible some foam, to make it flexible.

along with fixing up the lenses on the eyes and making latex appliances to better hold up the eyes.

oh and i shall be remaking the mouth piece a little so that it looks a whole lot neater.

  3. Waking this thread up.... shouldn't be this dormant until after episode 8 comes out! (little side joke, i know i fail)

anyway, star wars celebration 7 has recently released the new trailer, and i think it is safe to say: What do you all think so far?

what i think is this new trailer has given me more goosebumps than the episode 3 trailer, and December 28 can not possible come quick enough.

  4. ok... i promised pics of trachta, but i'm sorry everyone :(  i ran out of time and he will not be completed for CVII.

BUT..... i will be attending in a custom imperial officer using trachta's modified imperial officer tunic (and yes i know it is not 501st approvable).

here is what ill look like at CVII:

(sorry about poor quality of this picture)

i didnt want to go to Anaheim without a costume so i put together one and i think it turned out rather nicely ;)  (i know the gloves are not the right ones for an officer, and the hat is a little messed up)

but after Anaheim i shall resume to work on trachta and i was thinking about making a mold of the respirator ( a newer and better improved one)  and vacuu-form it.

sorry for the disappointment if anyone was hoping trachta would be done in time, nevertheless i'm really optimistic right now and looking forward to meeting a lot of you at CVII! :D

the third eye is also being painted along with the 2 primary eyes, everything is currently drying, pics in full uniform tomorrow.

  6. Well here's a funny story and life lesson:

If you make a really cool object like a robotic arm for instance, and happen to have 3 dogs who can leap great heights... don't leave the object on a table unattended over night..... yeah..soo i might not be able to bring sleeveless robotic arm trachta to cvii......

but 100% definitely bringing formal attire trachta to cvii

i have more pictures of him in his black officer uniform (from the comic):

Saturday i shall be posting pictures of the finished black officer uniform version of trachta.

  7. here is an overview of trachtas officer jacket:

as shown in the comics trachtas jacket is similar to the standard one but slightly different.

    IMG_20150404_195933_839_zpsusqilfmg.jpg

the most noticeable difference is that his collar is much taller and comes up to below the ear lobe

    IMG_20150404_200002_865_zpswhairehp.jpg

the other difference is that he has no code cylinder pockets on the side and that the front "flap" is much wider

    IMG_20150404_200008_622_zps238gftfi.jpg

i think in a crl for formal dress uniform trachta, the standard black jacket can be used for a level 1 certification, but a level 3 would require this one.

    thoughts? opinions?

(p.s. there is a small line that goes down as seen on the front of the picture of the collar, would that line be a problem? it was put there because the flap collar was too wide.)

(p.s.s. here is a picture of the sleeveless tunic)

  8. Today's update:

    Jodhpurs are done!

    Tunic is done!

-the tunic is modified to match trachtas in the comic, which is no code cylinder pockets, and a larger front, and a higher collar.  and i had to shorten the neck area a little so threes a small 2 inch long line on top, would that be ok?

    Sleeveless tunic is done!

and so is sleeveless tunic pants!

so pretty much all the soft parts are done (yay!!!)

tomorrow and this week i shall work on the hard parts ( arms/hands/respirator)

  9. ok update for the day is as follows:

did some more research, trachtas' black officer tunic is not like the standard tunic, the flap in the front is wider, collar goes up below his ears, and he has no code cylinder pockets.

trachtas' black officer suit is 90% done

the sleeveless uniform is 95% done

tomorrow i will finally get around to trying my new method on the arms and i'm remaking the eyes to be more stronger and durable (the ones i originally made are more fragile than a china shop)

also tomorrow i shall be painting the tubes and hopefully get pictures of those posted, as well as pictures of the black officer uniform and sleeveless uniform.

All i can say now is hooray for spring break!

oh and do feel free to comment (anything), it feels like i'm talking to my self here.

  10. So glad my seamstress forgot to put in pockets for code cylinders in the jacket, I reviewed the comics and I found he doesn't have code cylinders or pockets for them.

So his jacket is a modified black officer tunic with no pockets and a high collar

i also noticed the front part is a bit wider than the normal black tunic
