May I suggest for this and other Imperial trench coats that the type of sleeve cut be added? The trench coats all have the raglan style sleeves. This added to the description of having the sleeves having a seem going all the way to the collar, would help clarify and help those seeking the correct type of sewing pattern.

Ill concede that - however - my comment was not just based on personal aesthetics (though my USAF issued trench coat/rain coat falls mid-shin) - but rather from looking at the shots we see of the LT - particularly the ones found on page 1 of this thread. The photo where he is sitting down in the behind the scenes shot would have the coat coming up much higher if it was mid calf - and the photo where it is nearly full body and he is walking towards the camera - it appears that you can see the bulge in the fabric where his knee is hitting it - lending more credence that the coats indeed fall to mid-shin rather than mid-calf.
I also submit for consideration this photo of the coats from R1 since we have already decided that the coats are the same.
I think that isn't the top of the boot. But these are the pics I use for coat length.

This, tbh!
"Mud Trooper" the hint is in the name. And yeah Woody's character is very likely in disguise (we can only assume) but who knows, we might find out these are officers, and there might be more iterations of this than Woody's character!
That coat is slick! Looks heavier than R1, a thicker kinda rubbery material?I'm fairly certain its the same, just dirty.

Going by the breast plate I'd say he is in disguise as a mudtrooper officer of some kind. That would mean this costume is more likely to go to Spec Ops than IOC.
Isn't a captain an officer? Officers have to serve in the field.

Which version do you like better?

I'm already making the new rain cape that the troops wear as well as the Mimbam Stormtrooper.

So many Rogue one reused components in these costumes from Shoretrooper parts to Trenchcoats
That's what I was hoping. But much is different too, this trench is the same cut but has pointed collar, not rounded as well as additional pockets!

General Veers.
His presence, his humanity, his ability to get the job done.
My first uniform I made was grey, same grey as the action figure and 12" doll. After learning the color was incorrect, I think i was bummed and put the project off for many years. But I never lost the passion to become an imperial officer.
I was bummed when I later submitted my olive drab officer uniform for approval, I was told my rank badge was too widely spaced, changing it to a commander instead of a general, like Veers. I still have my armor, which has also been sitting that I recently picked back up and started working on.

the old visual guide said that.
West End Game's RPG called them "battle station operations".
The costume designer for Rogue One and the Solo movie calls them "security services". They seem to be more skilled than your average stormtrooper as they do all sorts of things. If we see them in any armor like that of Veers, it is going to be a definite nope.
I am excited for the movie.Where did you read that about costume designer?

No green line officers wore green ponchos in Rogue One because they never made any. Black security branch officers wore black ponchos.... and Krennic had his.
this may be different with the upcoming Solo movie, but we will have to see. I want a green one anyway because I will wear it to cons, not official Troops.
It makes sense that they would be there, but to do so would open the door to a lot of things that “make sense” in some people’s minds but not to others. So for now......
I'll make you a green one!!!!! Dying to!

Not sure of those from Solo are the same poncho, these look like they have hoods and it would be difficult to wear armor this way on the R1 poncho

Ah yeah that'd be totally fine.
Tagging in @Angelus who made several of the green ponchos, I don't suppose you could give any pointers on water sheeting fabrics here?
I guess the trick, as with everything line officer, is matching those shades of green/olive/feldgrau. :SWe haven't seen green ponchos yet...

These are pictures from the Solo book, and may have appeared in the movie, but without them on film or the corroborating info like the name in the book they arent good for this crl is what I'm understanding? I love how this green one has a rounded collar, which is a variation we have only seen in black so far.
