Well, not all of us want this many tiny details but some do so that is why I created the different levels. Level 1 and 2 are things that we can see in the Blue Ray. The level 1 things can be seen quite easily. The level 2 things need some photo enhancement and a good eye for details. Level 3 represents knowledge that we have through the costume book and the real uniforms. I also want to make sure that we can have extra stitching, darts and seams for fitting. The thing is that some GMOs are very picky and by showing that there was extra stitching and seams that cannot be seam might help some people with the approval process. I also hope to create an ISB ANH and a Navy Trooper Rogue One in the same way. The Navy Troopers in Rogue One have a very similar tunic to the Navy Trooper in ANH.
Thanks for your hard work and everyone's input. I love creating these garments!

if someone were to baste the allowance down on the inside of the front pocket it might form a line like this, not necessarily a line of overcast stitching. Even with an invisible stitch machine set too deep will create an illusion of a constant line or crease. I just did this in haste on a white tunic and had to re construct the cylinder pocket. Now i wish I took a before picture!

I've been asked if I was a Nazi. I stuttered a bit but assured the older gentleman I was not that I was a costumed character from Star Wars. He replied that it must be a good movie for people to dress up for it. We were attending the showing of the movie in a public square/ park. He actually stuck around and watched it.
Usually I'm asked if I would take pictures for people with the stormtroopers, which I don't mind. But I really love it when kids ask and the fathers defend me and explain he's the officer, he's in command! Thanks kid's Dads!

I mean, canonically speaking, I guess your uniform was modelled after Tarkin's...
Its a compliment! His is the best tailored suit in the movie!

Any rank I wear I usually get called "General" (was really tempted to say "generally get called General"... you're welcome...)
I'm surprised and in awe when I get General!

Though you could try adding a fake one and making it look like a seam. Not even sure if that is possible though.
If you to a reverse pin-tuck it won't use too much material.

Love this thread! The machine pad stitching in the lining made my day! Love learning more about our CRL process. A question I have though, as the uniforms that were quickly and inexpensively modified for background shots were made to emulate those of the principals why do we want to reproduce these uniforms in exacting detail?

Oddly enough, I just started making a pattern for a female officer. I'm staying with in the seam allotment mentioned in the CRL. I think I know what Adianu is referring to and I think she is mostly correct, about the seam she mentions. So far I have the seams matching well, but some of the pattern pieces are very differently shaped from what most of us have used on the male orientated patterns. The pattern i'm working on is to better accommodate a woman of smaller to average size, but addressing bust, waist, shoulder and hip differences, I'd love to make one for a bigger curvy woman. I'm going to make that a priority next. I should have a muslin cut out and fitted this weekend. I'll post pics.

Can anyone confirm whether the IN helmet looks the same as the OT ones? I wouldn’t be surprised if they’d changed something.
Not sure, all I think we have is the Lego version and the silhouette views. I think there is an Imperial Army trooper pic of an extra, but I can't find it atm. If the Lego is any indication the goggles are going to be a newer design than 70's ski goggles.

Han's goggles look almost like Tk eyes...

We have Imperial helmet and my favorite blaster

We have Officers Tag and Bink!!! Nothing really new there. But the hats look better than the R1 hats.

The Han Solo Lego figure looks to be wearing the same bucket! I need to finish my officer armor!(Veers style) And the Tobias Lego Figure is most certainly wearing one of the green officer trenches.

Anyone have pics or info they can share? I want to make us all the new things!

Good stuff! Molok defiantly has a dart. And i agree the code cylinder pockets are there, for which I'm glad. But I'm still wondering about the collar closure. On the Molok picture does there appear to be a line along the collar meeting with the shoulder closure line?
Someone mentioned the rank bar, aren't all rank bars made with push buttons? Also would the rank bar be worn normal instead of the probably sloppy, late to shift low rank bar officer?

Just edited the lvl 2 requirements for the tunic as there is no visible dart, thanks for the hint Steven.
Regarding the jodhpurs i don´t want to change that as this only refers to the fabric, not the color. And the fabric should match in all three parts of the costume
But his pants and hat are black. When he first walks by, away from camera you see his pants are black jophers.
Color for line officer poncho?
