  1. I know several members swear by Hessen Antiques, but I would like to know something. Has anyone had any problems with custom ordering boots from Hessen? I submitted my final measurements on September 4, they said it would only take 2 months, it’s been 3. If I didn’t spend around $300, I wouldn’t be this anxious.

You better get used To it. I have a running bet with a Mandolorian friend of mine. He times when he’ll be called a Boba Fett and I time when I’ll be called a chef. Shortest time pays the beer after the troop. lol

Oh, I’ve got nothing against being called a chef, I view it as sort of a compliment, primarily because I can’t do much cook; spaghetti, eggs and bacon, hamburgers, rice, that’s about it.

Yes and no. For example, the knobelbechers (jack boots) I bought for my Bridge Crew uniform were listed on the German eBay  (ebay.de) but not the US version. Some sellers are listed on all, but some aren't.

It can come down to your own personal  comfort level with international transactions. Those boots I got are great, but they took seventy-three thousand days to arrive.  And if they hadn't fit, I'd be out a bunch of cash for shipping them back.

My son wants to put a staff officer uniform together,  and he ordered from Soviet Boots last night.  Plenty of folks got approved with those, so they're worth looking at too. For about 130 shipped.

Thanks this might be the place to go.

That is where I got mine. Look for used boots. Usually they are in great condition and already broken in.

PVC works for basic clearance but my advice is: Leather is your friend. Leather breaths, it looks better and lasts longer. You can definitely spot the difference between the two.

So, I guess the only question is: should I worry that I live in the US of A when order from EBay UK?

  5. I'm starting work on my uniform, and I want to start with the boots since a good majority of the uniforms I want to develop require the same type of boot. That being said, does anyone have any advice on where to find inexpensive "equestrian" boots? Any help would be accepted. Thanks.
