Great photos! That's so cool you got some photos with the sign/Falcon behind you, they ushered us into the film so quickly I couldn't get any like that and they were taking it apart by the time I got back.

Yeah... they were taking it down, but the security folks were letting anyone in that had their badge.

Congrats on a cool troop! Just an observation if you happen to care about such things, but I have found that wearing the lanyard inside the jacket, and just letting the badge hang out from the side opening (if required to be visible at all) is much less obtrusive in photos.  It's also a lot easier to slip the badge into the jacket behind the front flap for a quick photo. Lanyards are a bit more invisible with a black uniform, but I have found them to stand out quite a bit on the olive. When in a sharp uniform like yours, you should look as neat as possible! 8)

Good call! I'll remember that for next time! We had just come out of the movie so I'm not adjusted very well. We had just come out of theater so we were all excited about the movie. I got an  answer about something I had always wondered about for officers. I won't say what, but I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about after you see it.

I bought my boots from Hessen. I usually wear a US 8.5, so I bought a size 9. I dont have large calves or anything, and they fit perfect. I couldnt be happier with my purchase, especially since they are good up to L3

Awesome!!! So seldom that anyone I know has my same boot size. So that is extremely helpful! Thanks D-FUNK!!

Quite the opposite: They run SMALL.  The website is 100% wrong.  I'd consider buying a size up, in most cases.  If they're a little loose, you can always add an insole (which would make things a lot more comfortable anyway).

Note the biggest issue with all of these sorts of boots tends to be the calf size.  If you have calves that even on the large side of normal, they'll likely need to be stretched by a cobbler (this is normal).  If your calves are actually large, it's not likely the stock sizes will fit, so you'll need to look at their custom option instead.

Thanks for the info. I actually wear an 8.5, but I usually buy size 9 shoes/boots. Calves are not big either so that part should be fine.

Any other experiences out there in IOC-land?

    Hello,

I had a question, I do not know if it was already been composed but I would like to know in which level the costume anovos can he claim? L2  (Executor) with Marcus but L3 (Imperator) is-it possible ???

Thank you in advance for you help

Shouldn't be any reason why not. Everything I need to work on for Imperator has to do with the fit and dressing issues. Here's exactly what Phil had to say on the issue:

If you're considering Imperator level, I'm a little concerned that your left flares appears to be slightly folding over. I hoped pulled the trousers down a little would help as there would be less under the jacket. But this doesn't appear to be the case. Having them up higher is making them tauter. Maybe starching them, or add interfacing may help, but I'm surprised that would be needed as the material looks to have a nice weight to it.

I have to use a different belt as well because the Anovos is grooved which is apparently an ROTJ thing (thanks for info Phil) but my rank bars are setup as ESB Piett.  Easy enough to fix since I own a Tiggwolf belt which is not grooved.

I have a small, hand-held steamer that worked nicely on mine.

It's quite sturdy, so taking it to the dry-cleaners shouldn't be a problem.

I have one of those as well, so I'll give that a whirl first.  My rank bars and gloves come in today, so I should be ready to submit for approval. Thanks BJ!

  7. I had to put this on hold for another costume in the works, but I'm getting ready to knock this out. Question for those who have received theirs. Did you press the uniform yourself or have it dry cleaned? If you did it yourself, what setting did you use. After waiting a year and a half I'm not taking any chances with screwing it up.

  8. Why can't you get into the IOC with this uniform?

I pre-ordered the standard costume in Feb 2015 with hopes that it would meet 501st standards.  I really like the costume and think the fabric and most details are great and much nicer than many other makers.  I am disappointed that it won't get me in the IOC but it will be good to wear to conventions and other unofficial functions.  Here's a pic of me in it, I had ironed the tunic but as you can see the pants still need ironing to get the large crease out.

Looks really great! Why can't you get into the IOC with it?  Other than the missing line of stitching in the hat brim and the modesty panel, what would keep this from approval? Both of those missing elements can be added. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything else.

That's an Anovos employee responding to a garrison mate. The latter posted the hat photo with a comment on the material disparity.

I can second that. I've had conversations with Anovos personnel face to face and that is what I was told as well. They got access to the Tarkin uniform.
