Here's the old workhorse...I think safe to say if the top sticks out this much it probably shouldn't be approvable today.
They did the job at the time

I'm a firm believer in the possibility of upholding a high level of basic standards, higher than it is currently, IF there is a solid support network to do so. This includes suppliers and makers.
I might change my opinion on this if it was possible to provide a newcomer with a list of 15-20 dosimeter replica makers around the world to choose from. At the moment it's a very niche market so it's an expensive upgrade because there's no competition there. It's a sellers market. Even with a more competitive market in place though it's not very hard at all to get some really good looking chalk holders so I'd probably still be on the fence!
If people are being seen with unpainted and unmodified chalk holders then Words need to be had with garrisons allowing this.
We don't have 15 belt makers or hat makers but we don't allow cosplaysky stuff

I agree, but how many people do we really see using them these days?
Seems like an easy fix for a less busy time.
Problem is that some people start putting their costume together using the crl before contacting a local garrison or even joining this forum let's start them with accurate parts

You want to be able to sit down without the boot digging into the back of your legs

that is almost a separate issue with us getting more 451 uniforms out there. with the new "openness" of sharing patterns, it might be more available than it has ever been before. At least in the next 6 months it should be.
That's why it's better start things like that for the higher levels just like push button rank bars then they start to become the norm with more members getting them and making them

I just want to chime in on the constructive side here:
Let's make two seperate CRL's: one for the ANH-Fahrenheit 451-Staff-Officer, who is allowed to wear only a single bar rank-badge, another CRL for the common staff officer with the uniform cut in the "imperial pattern" where the applicant himself may choose wheather he wants to be a ROTJ without a rankbar or a Rogue One-Officer with a certain rankbar ... or some officer from comic books with a double rank bar.
This way makes up the chance to offer both - accuracy to the ANH-movie on one side, freedom to choose a different officer with alternate uniform and other references and modifications on the other side. That should be possible to do and would help to end any further discussion.
There's not enough makers of the correct tunic at the moment we would end up with a dozen anh officers left in the legion I would love to see more accurate costumes

I'm the gml who suggested the Change to a single rank bar for staff officers the reason I get asked a lot By new members what is a accurate rank for a staff officer I always use the OT for reference but some gmls allow double ranks admirals Moffs which is confusing so it was simplified to a single bar It was never to make things harder for new officers

If you get it well fitted and use accurate code cylinders belt and rank bar you can achieve the higher levels don't get the cosplaysky hat or belt

I pick up my boots Saturday from the cobbler. Due to a medical condition I have that causes my legs to swell he had to cut a wedge in both sides to add extra leather so I can get the boots on I'm hoping there won't be a problem getting approved
You need to speak to your gml

They would work for bridge crew but look too short for officer boots
