There have been reports of a large Rogue dressed in red and white flying in a pod-like vehicle powered by what appears to 8 Tauntaun-like creatures. Orders are to detain and hold for questioning as he may be a Rebel sympathizer trying to deliver secret messages of goodwill to those who would plot against us. Beware as he may have Force abilities that could convince you to release and send him on his merry way.

    Happy Holidays to all!

DUDE!  You went from a 2XL to a medium and you lost "some" weight?  That's bloody amazing!

I would say you should just buy a new one - you alter that 2xl enough to fit you and it probably wouldn't pass CRL anymore.

On removing the embossed logo, I have had a decent amount of success with the following:

Get a steam iron and a towel, and do this in bathroom or kitchen

Turn on iron to steam at cotton (or other high equivalent) setting.
Place towel over embossed bit on boot
Press steam iron on area for around 1-2 minutes
Remove towel and let "air" a couple moments
Go to bathroom or kitchen sink and turn on hot tap water (let it get really hot)
Run embossed area under water 1-2 minutes
Dry with towel, applying uniform pressure
Repeat process around 5 times  (may take more times)

I saw this article this morning, http://m.ign.com/articles/2016/05/17/star-wars-rogue-one-leak-reveals-new-characters-names-vehicles
The title may be a place-holder, but it's about what I expected.

Honestly, my experience with standards in both clubs is about the same.  I do not believe there is currently a standard in place for "generic smuggler" in Rebel Legion like there is for "generic jedi", though even the generic jedi have to fit within a specific era and have specific standards.

This is always something you can do for a convention.
I'm pretty sure with the RL you have to some source of the character, jedi are the only ones you can get away with being a generic something. But with the Clone Wars cartoon there's tons of twi'leks, I'm sure you could find reference photos of one to make and could make the argument that it's a twi'lek freedom fighter.

    Hello everyone!

I've been working on making an Imperial Cadet uniform, and have been posting updates over at my garrison. I believe it's official now, according to the LMO, that the Imperial Cadets from Star Wars Rebels are going to be part of the IOC detachment. There had been questions as to whether or not they'd be IOC or FISD.

I don't believe anyone is working on this uniform as of yet, but Fiernock Base Designs, one of the designers of a more accurate AT-DP helmet, has made an Imperial Cadet helmet. I'm one of the first on the list and will hopefully have the bucket soon.

My GML has approved a pair of Jackboots which I've obtained as being fitting for the build.

I've also got the metallic rank plaque seen on the left breast of the jacket:

I've been recommended to a local seamstress by a fellow member who is local to my area. I'm currently letting her do some alterations to my Staff Officer uniform, but I've shown her the Cadet images and she says she can put it together.

I've bounced around a number of different ideas for the fabric to use, and after talking with my GML, I think we've settled on using cotton twill for the pants and jacket.

    Thoughts and suggestions?

I pulled together my Warrant Officer (black officer with straight legs + jackboots, no code cylinders, no rank bar) for $290 total.

    Hat -- $50
    Boots -- $70
Tunic + Pants (I had to sew up the outside seam to remove the flares) -- $120
    Belt + Buckle -- $50

We put together my husband's ISB Officer (straight leg version) for $245 total.

    Hat -- $50
    Boots -- $35
    Tunic -- $75
    Rank Bar -- $10
    Belt + Buckle -- $50
    Pants -- $25

And I did not get phenomenal deals/sales on any of these ... all standard prices.

I think what they mean is "What is the full complement of measurements a tailor would typically need?"  And then possibly have that broken down to what measurement is needed for what piece, which I don't think is necessary.

Here is the typical full complement of measurements I have seen tailors ask for when doing anything, however ...

Chest  Waist  Neck Shoulder Width  Hip  Shoulder to Waist Arm Circumference  Waist to knee Outseam  Inseam Thigh circumference Calf circumference Arm Length Cuff (Wrist) Circumference  Head (for hats)

This is our very first look at an officer of any sort.  For all we know this may be a special uniform just for him, while other officers look different.   We can't be judging what it will look like just off 2 photos.

Who do I talk to to complain about the First Order looking so BA. I'm already working on Kylo, wanting Phasma's armor, and now Hux comes along with a sharp (and at first glance temptingly simple) new uniform? Come on, Michael Kaplan, I don't have the time or money to make all of the cool new costumes!

My personal policy has always been ....

Ask Detachment.  If a resounding no, stop and choose another item.  If a resounding yes, feel safe in purchasing.  If even one "maybe", send all pictures and references of the item to local GML and ask "Is this approvable" before purchasing.

Yeah, I like female costumes....on females. lol
I don't think I'd look very flattering in either.

My very first costume in the Legion was Warrant Officer (straight leg version).  I had fully intended in going for a Tusken or a Gunner, and then saw TIE Reserve or Crewman would be easier to get into, so shifted focus to that.  Then I got a flightsuit ... and discovered that standard men's sizes in flightsuits are just not flattering on me.  I didn't know anyone at the time that could assist in creating a custom fit flightsuit, and I already had the jackboots, so reviewed what I could get into with jackboots that didn't require a flightsuit.

    Thus, me picking Warrant Officer

After that, it took only a few adjustments (and a lucky find with DW Designs) and I have my Navy Trooper.

Other builds that I am currently working on are Galactic Marine, B-Wing Pilot, and Tusken Raider (male).  After that, I am done ... unless I come across anything in Ep7 or Rogue One that really calls to me.

I'd say yes. You've provided good, and as clear as we'll get, reference images.

Great work, I'm always trying to improve the accuracy of my costumes, getting them as close as I can to the films. It's nice to see this in others.

Final call goes to the senior detachment staff, but looks good to me.

    Hi there!

I recently reviewed the SW: Episode VI(ROTJ), and found something interesting. It turns  Warrant officers may wear gloves of the same type as the officers of the ESB (gloves reaching to the wrist).

However, the CRL is not specified (indicated only long gloves).
    http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ID_imperial_officer_black_nco

Can I use a version of the glove to the wrist?

    Waiting for your comments.

I was never into the Star Trek TV shows, but I've always liked the movies (original cast movies). Maybe that's why I don't have any issues with what JJ did with new movies. They were entertaining and paid homage to the original enough while having their own plots and feel. I like JJs style in the sense of he uses CG to do what needs to be done, but uses practical effects and REAL sets, to include real locations that doubled as the Enterprise (pretty cool that the Enterprise has it's own Brewery onboard ).

Given some of the leaks that he has put out, we already know he's going that way with the new movies.  I'm looking foward to seeing the approach of using real sets that he has done, but in the SW universe.

I try to avoid internet speculation and spoilers, but as for Han dying or anyone else...........come on guys....these characters cannot live forever. You know full well, they signed on to do this movie to pass the torch. If the franchise is every going to stand on it's own with the sequels, something like that is bound to happen. I feel as big a connection with our familiar heroes as anyone else. I was born in '78 so I only saw Jedi in the theater as a kid, but I grew up with SW so it's not like I just got into this series a few years ago. I don't want to see any of them go, but did you want Ben to go either??? It was needed to further the plot and the movie was better for it.

I am also optimistic for this, but at the same time I get huge butterflies in my stomach when I think about how I will feel after I leave the theater. I don't want to be disappointed either, but we'll see.

    Just my two credits.
