To be honest i would not let it get to you as i once said to a idiot in character i would debate with you but the Imperial academy did not train me to interact with those of a closed mind and walked away
I'll give it my best shot. I'll get over it, I'm sure. Just a matter of when. Thanks.

This may seem strange to some of you what I'm about to say.
I wanted a soft costume and decided the IOC creme tunic. My hat,
rank badges and tunic were made by members here. My boots
are top notch. Everything looks great!
Everything was completed a year ago and I can't get past the 'Nazi'
image my fellow troopers have experienced. Of course, the
troopers are very professional in explaining Star Wars characters.
I'm a large man, 6'3" and 250#'s. Once I'm over this roadblock, I'll
be submitting my pic.
I've read the section on how the public misinterprets our character.
I need a little boost.
Any suggestions????

That was great Kevin.

Greetings everyone.
Haven't been on the board's for about a year. Glad to be back.
I wear a 12 and have a narrow heal. Had no luck in finding a pair
of broken-in/used. Had to go the other route.
My riding boots are zipperless; fantastic leather; fits better than
any leather boots I own to date. However, they cost me 200 bucks
and they came out of the Middle East. Return time was quicker
than I thought. (approx. 5 weeks)
If you find any used ones, good luck to you partner! One of my
trooper friends has 15 1/2 shoe size and he's constantly looking
for boots. It's not impossible in finding a pair, although they're
snatched up pretty quickly by the seller(s).

First time reading this post.
Yikes! It is pricey, but it would be well worth it if it's 501st approved.
I purchased the Republic Commando kit and paid about $1100.00
for it. Then the shoes; all the work; painting; additional materials;
tools; electronics for the helmet, etc., totaled from beginning to
end at round $1450.00. And that was three years ago.
Every prototype made by man is always expensive in the very
beginning. My first year at college in 1972 the digital calculator
did the very basics of math at $300.00, bulky as heck, huge
and weighed a ton. By the 80's . . . it went for $7.00!

I ordered my boots from RiderMall about a week ago
and they arrived today. I, too, will have to trim from the
top to make them look screen accurate. Yes, they
are snug but I'll break them in walking around the
house. Will order the "boot jack" and "boot hooks"
in a couple of days.
What is fascinating about the boot is the nice finish.
I was taken aback by that. The picture online doesn't
do it justice. I'm very happy with my purchase Oh,
and one more thing . . . it's zipperless!

I remember doing the Ice Cream Maker Guy from TESB at
CVI with about twenty something people all dressed in orange
coveralls carrying our computer cores (ice cream maker) and
having our pics taken. What was so beautiful were the rainbow
of ICMG's and gals, from all over the country! It was a blast.

I always wondered how the collars stood up.
Fantastic idea.

Here's a real treat.
Wearing my Jedi with a purple light saber and a
father pointed to me and said, "Look son! Luke Skywalker!"
My Samuel Jackson complexion and bald head must not
have been a dead give-away.

501st and Rebel Legion troop together here in Michigan and we all have a great time.
Motor City Comic Con and Grand Rapids Comic Con are in competition
with one another. One is in the spring, the other in the fall.
The best part? Both have heavy influence of Star Wars
characters. For us, that's a good thing.
Some of our troopers bring as many as five or more costumes throughout
convention weekend. We have become a big draw and what an experience.
Fans are photo op nuts.
Best, crazy weekends in the Mitten, in my opinion.
