Hello Officers, Crew, and Troopers! My name is Biscuit, ID-39999, of the Central California Garrison and the IOC Morale Officer. I want to share a journey with you, to raise my spirits and hopefully show the power of what we do. Two weeks after retiring, my Mom, Dawn Salisbury, was informed that she had irreversible colon cancer. After a year of suffering, she died on May 1st, 2011, five years ago. We also recently lost a comrade, John Salles, a police officer, Iraq war veteran, and sci-fi fanatic. I decided that I would try to honor them both with 5 troops in 5 straight days, centered around the 5th anniversary of my Mom's passing and John's funeral. I am about to attend troop 4 this morning, so I will update this afternoon. As a thank you to you all, every single troop i'm in an Officer uniform of some type. Did anyone notice Harrison Ford wearing running shoes with his Han Solo costume during some of his takes on the Starkiller Base set in The Force Awakens? You can see the shots on the bonus features disc in the documentary "Secrets of The Force Awakens: A Cinematic Journey." I was reminded of the story of Peter Cushing wearing slippers during some of his takes when the camera does not have his boots in the shot.

I got a picture with him and Julius Leflore, never got his autograph. Absolutely amazing guy, Rest In Peace.

The boot hooks can just help pull your feet deeper into the boots. Its alot more noticeable with softer leather boots where you'll see a bit of bunching on the back or sodes. They'll just give you a cleaner look. Great looking bag!

There is a pocket on the opposite side of the bag for boot hooks. I don't use them. Do you? Do you recommend them?

Lost Stars is, without a doubt, the best book of the new canon. I can't wait to meet these characters again on another adventure.

I really would like to strongly recommend this book once again. "Lost Stars" by Claudia Gray is a fantastic novel and my favorite thus far since the Lucasfilm Story Group was formed. I can't recommend it enough and I would even recommend it to casual Star Wars fans. It's just a great page-turner. The narrative chronicles the lives of Ciena Ree and Thane Kyrell, two nearly lifelong friends and eventual lovers from the Outer Rim world of Jelucan who love flying and join the imperial officer academy on Coruscant. Their relationship is strained when Thane does the unthinkable, from Ciena's point of view, and defects from the Imperial Navy after the destruction of Alderaan and joins the Rebel Alliance. The story unfolds during the Galactic Civil War time period of the original trilogy. Author Claudia Gray deftly charts their experiences through many key events we know so well such as the battle of Yavin, Hoth, Endor, and culminating with the post-ROTJ battle of Jakku. So many characters we love like Vader, Tarkin, Piett, Ackbar, and many others are, of course, all here as well. Do you want to know how that Star Destroyer crashed on Jakku as seen in Episode 7 The Force Awakens? It's in this book.

This book is so good! It's hard to put down. I hope everyone in the IOC reads it. Incidentally, the IOC is well-represented in this story.

Have you met any of the actors from the movies who played the parts we costume at events you attend? Id love to see your pictures if you have, always good to show that there is continued love for the Empire and the costume.
 
I met with Imperial Officer actors from the Saga at the weekend at the For the Love of the Force event in Manchester, UK....proud to show off my IOC costume to Alan Flyng and Paul Markham who loved it.

My squad, The San Joaquin Squad of the Southern California Garrison, were joined by members of the L.A. Squad and the South Valley Squad of the Central California Garrison. I agree with Dark Savage. You can get an awesome rank bar from Tigg-Wolf and belt (if you decide you can go with a leather belt). They might even be able to make one with imitation leather for you. It wouldn't hurt to ask. I have a Sewing Jenny hat and I hired her to make my tunic and jodhpurs as well. I highly recommend her if you are willing to go with black (staff officer) instead. I noticed that the code disk is upside down on the photo of the Anovos line officer hat. Did anyone else notice that? Hopefully they will fix that. Their hats look good though.

"The Imperial Handbook: A Commander's Guide" by Daniel Wallace is getting a non-deluxe release on August 11. I'm looking forward to reading this. Even though it's part of Legends, hopefully most of it is consistent with canon. It sounds like it is from what I see you guys posting here and worth getting, especially if it's only $14 on Amazon.

Yes! My favorite part is the creation of the line officer uniform. That part should warm the hearts of everyone in the IOC.
