For this one, since it's a very rare bird to begin with, I think nixing the chalk holders is fair.
Cosplaysky doesn't offer it. Only Magnoli and I think ClothEars do - for complete ready to wear suits that is.
If someone has the credits to put down for this version of the uniform, they likely have the extra $30 to $45 for code cylinders.
If someone is sewing it from scratch, I suppose one could argue that they're on a tighter budget.
But I don't see this as a first time uniform option.
    That's my .02 on it.

A lot of the discussion here applies to the Warrant Officer CRL as well....it already mentions the special design of ANH uniforms but it pretty non-specific.  I'll mention in the CRL update suggestions thread as well but may be useful to update that one as this one is being worked on.

Here are some of the pattern (will try to add more soon) and picture of the build for Line/Staff/Krennic Poncho

    Take note that

    1) Krennic's Cape is much longer then the Line/Staff officer's cape

    2) Krennic front have a pocket. But the Line/Staff officer do not have.

The patterning is pretty easy it is just the sewing the detail of the line can be hard. So do change the needle on the sew machine if you are planing to do it yourself. Using the normal needle can sometime cost the sting to jump a few sticting. Do be careful when sewing waterproof fabric as once you poke a hole, the hole stays.

    Needle: Microtex

The cape is more of a rectangle shape. So cut two of this. And if you have a mannequin, it will be better. so you can pin the cape to the top part nicely.

It will be better to pin and see where you want the below part to be.

This is my test mock up on krennic's pocket. I think it is called a Welt Pocket.
Here are some of the links on how to do it

The Opening of the top cape
ok this is how I did it.

ok. You can see the different in the cape length of it.

If you really want to be more waterproof (not for heavy rain), you can try to spray waterproof spray onto the costume (or for your daily wear too!). But every how and then you have to spray it. Because the waterproof spray do not stay onto the outfit very long. It is really usefull for hats! I did use some of the waterproof spray when I go oversea on my hat or my jacket when there is light rain like England.....

    It looks something like this.

PArmstr reacted to Paggeldiwwer in General Pattern for an officers' tunic
    Hello fellow officers.

more than two years ago, when I became a member here, I noticed (as many before and after me) that it is hard to find a pattern here for the tunic.

I have sewed a few of those tunics since then (as an amateur - it's just a hobby ) and I just made a small photo-documentation of my recent progress.

I photographed the single pieces from which the tunic will be constructed and drawed in the measurements of them. I hope this will help some of you to create an own pattern for your tunic. And even if you haven never seriously sewed before (like me more than two years ago) - just do it, give it a try. You'll like it - believe me It is such a great feeling seeing the progress of your own project. And you do not need to work it out by hook or by crook - take yourselves the time you need. This includes re-opening of some seams sometimes. But you'll to this for the better.

The pattern is designed for my father, so it is customized. That means the single parts are made to meet his measurement - not yours. You will need to alter them to make the tunic fit your own body.

My fathers measurements are: 176 cm tall, weight 76kg, chest is 108cm waist is 110cm, back from neck to hip: 42cm, arm length: 62 cm, neck-circumference: 42cm.

Please alway keep in mind, that we need about 10-15mm of seam-allowance at each and every edge of the fabric. Before you sew all of that together, it appears a lot larger of course

    The collar:

    The chest-pieces:

    Right Side:

    Left Side:

    Double-breast:

    The arm-pieces:

    The back-pieces:

Construction (where do these parts all have to be placed?):

    Right front:

    Left front and double-breast:

    Back:

(please mind that the center-seam is just here for the Admiral Versio-Uniform. For a regular officer there is no center-seam at all!!!)

    Arms:

    How to start:

Draw on the pattern-parts and cut them out of the fabric:

Draw them on the facing again an cut those parts too:

Iron the facing onto the inner side of the fabric:

    cut of the excess-facing:

    This will be continued....

We need to be careful not to exclude the single rankbar from the imperial pattern tunic as in R1 there are black tunic officers with single rank bars. At least one can be clearly seen in the death star sequence (there are multiple ones present) and the one who relays the order to fire and the Officer guarding the Vault door on Scarif.

    451 only single rankbar

Imperial pattern, single and double rankbar

Stated from a GML's view on a daily basis I can only admit that it is a lot easier to us having single CRL's with clear definitions of a single costume. That helps to axoid overloading the GWL-Forums with questions that occur due to the missing of a 100% clear wording. That has nothing to do with the IOC's CRL's especially - it is just a Thing that happens far to often when I read through the GWL-Forums.

But the tunic is the main part of the whole costume. And since the pattern differs in many ways, another description of a tunic's pattern would overload the existing CRL.

As one that has been studying to pursue an Imperator level ANH Staff officer (I'm mildly OCD.....which sorta sucks for costuming), it makes a lot more sense to have the CRLs separated or at the VERY least have the two pieces listed as "options"/variants.  Thanks to the help of a few, I hope to have a start on requesting submissions for Executor and Imperator levels in very short order once the ball gets rolling.  I'm thinking I definitely want to start with the ANH staff officer...because of the challenges that it presents.

I agree that the ANH Staff Officer deserves it's own entry.
What would the existing CRL then look like?  I can't remember seeing any Staff Officers in ESB, and the only RotJ screen grabs I have saved don't show a rank bar at all.
Would R1 and RotJ then be lumped together?

I'm going to disagree on the 1st part as then you will get bogged down with details that do not matter it's what they were in ANH that counts, but that's another debate, there are plenty of threads if one searches for them regards this uniform plus there is Phil the 1st Legion member to have one, one thing you and I can agree on Marc is this needs to happen

One needs to unserstand it's history if he wishes to reproduce them. And most of the details have been saved throughout the ANH-reanimating-process. So I think we should be aware of all the details we can capture. Won't hurt anyway

Following the screencaps and next to the original Uniform they have altered the collar. The one in ANH is higher than the one in Fahrenheit 451.

I know this costume and its history well having been guided by Phil our previous Deployment Officer and no one knows this costume like he does, for my 2 cents this version needs it's own CRL

As far as I checked through the screencaps from ANH there is no other tunic than the Fahrenheit 451.

Shall we do a separate CRL for it or will this end up beeing too much?

What is the FISD doing in a similar case? They have two (!) separate CRL's for the Stromtroopers in ANH (Stunt & Hero) even though they only differ in the helmet-desgin and the number of rivets that connect the Holster to the belt. The ESB-TK als has only minor differences to the one in ANH (frown ist black, Holster moved to the right side and uses Loops instead of rivets) but got his own CRL as well.

If one should state the Fahrenheit 451 is similar enough to leave it with one CRL for the staff officer I say: that is not correct.

The Fahrenheit 451-tunic is completely different from the imperial tunic. That's what makes it worth to get an own CRL for it.

    What are those differences?

    1. The collar Closes on the right shoulder instead of a center closure.
    2. the double-breast has two visible seams at each side-edge.

    3. the double-breast design continues on the back of the tunic which has the look of open pleats running from the shoulders down.

    4. the cuffs are slit.

    5. there is a visible seam just beneath the edge of the codecylinder-pocket-edge

    6. the center of the skirt part in the back is slit on both sides.

The differences concerning the rest of the costume are the silver Clips of the code-cylinders, the flat belt buckle and the single rank-bar.

Here are some pictures from the movie "Fahrenheit 451":

What was obviously altered by John Mollo was the left side of the double breast. They closed the opened pleat and sewed it closer onto the left side of the front. The codecylinder-pockets have already been there from the beginning.

Thats what I saw in the "starwarsscreencaps" and on the Internet so far. Let's collect some more visual prove her.

My two cents, I think that the 451-style uniform should be its own separate CRL. Its fundamentally different from the current CRL that the details should be described and outlined and we can remove these vague lines in the current CRL about a "uniquely designed uniform for ANH". And, although not common, there are makers of this costume out there, so people interested can get their hands on them.

Whether or not all Staff officers in ANH had 451 uniforms, Im not sure.

I thought I would post an update....After all of the commotion with the CRL I have revised and recreated my uniform.  I have also dyed my hair black so that it is easier to just add a little bit of blue to it.  I think the new uniform is a large improvement to the first.  I am having it altered to have straight seams in the back and then I think it will bring it into compliance with the new proposed CRL.  Let me know what you all think!

    Excellent observation!
Agreed that he is probably wearing jodhpurs, as you can clearly see the riding boots a few frames after the one that you showed above. As to whether he is wearing gray, I think we can prove it. A few frames before your example, he is standing right next to Tarkin in the same light, and there is a clear contrast in color, with this officer's uniform shifted toward gray. Is it completely free of green? Maybe not. But there is a strong argument for gray.

    Just my spare change.

That extra can also be seen in a scene with Tarkin too. He seems to be wearing a gray Fahrenheit 451 tunic, a black hat, black pants probably jodhpurs, riding boots and a belt with horizontal belt boxes. He has red and amber tiles on his rank but the correct number is difficult to tell. We will nerver know if he is really wearing a gray tunic or not.
