When I built my ANH staff officer, I used one blue tile as the rank of "cadet", but no longer see this rank on the chart. Will that cause a problem?

    According to the CRL:

    Quote

There are only four choices of rank bar for ANH staff officers

    • One row of four blue tiles.
    • One row of four blue tiles and two amber tiles.
    • One row of two red tiles.
    • One row of three red tiles.

So yes, unless you're already approved.

This is a good question because the CRL says:

Collar may have a brown fur (or faux fur) collar lining.

There is a "may have" in there... so to me this sounds optional.

Right. I mean I'd like one anyway, because it looks cool, but not requiring it makes it that much easier for me to get the coat made.

  3. I'm not sure I could pick. All of the new ones I've read/listened to have been really good.

My (apparently very) unpopular opinion is the original Thrawn trilogy is not actually that good, it was just better than most of the other stuff that came out for the EU. Thrawn himself was just too good. I really like the new series, mostly the first one, as I feel they kept his brilliant mind and tactical sense without going too overboard.

I'm going oldschool with Piett, Veers and Jerjerrod.

Oh and that officer in ANH, the first Staff we got to see discussing the Senate problem with Vader on the Tantive IV, what's his name??

It's funny, I almost always say Tarkin is my favorite when I'm bringing it up, but I saw the topic and my mind immediately went "Piett!" So I guess really it's Piett.

Hard to pick just one, though.

  5. Just a head's up (since it should probably be added to the CRL at some point), Matt Nelson (owns Blockade Runner Supply) makes the proper strap greeblies for the goggles, (in case you don't want to find the very specific Uvex goggles), and should have the metal bands that go over the lenses very soon.

  6. Just to keep this up to date:

The vinyl patches on my flightsuit have started coming off, so I've ordered new ones. Hopefully I'll have them by this weekend. The weather is also improving (although not today so much), so I'll be able to take good, clear photos and move this forward.

  7. If you could find a tailor who could work without a solid pattern, that's also an option, maybe between 1 and 2. But while I understand that armor seems like it should be more expensive, there's an economy of scale there. Also, plastic is cheap, proper fabrics are not, and it's a lot more work-intensive to sew a uniform than to pull plastic (especially when much of the labor on the plastic armor is done by the purchaser, not the seller).
