There's a thread in that forum about requirements, but....
They ask for the front, back, and both side pics, and then the highlights for L3.

The WEG background basically colors everything I know about Star Wars even if it's no longer canon (especially considering I ran a few Star Wars MUSHes back in the day). I still have all of my books!

Just saw the garrison post on Facebook. Congrats!

Very nice!
I wish they had a line officer one. Would look great in my office.

I can see it being useful if we're using the lore to talk to the public (like I will be). But I also understand how colossal a task that would be, since it changes so often.
After all, Thrawn was entirely legend until Star Wars Rebels re-introduced him; but even then, his origin story was legend until the novel came out; and that changed some of the original story as well.

Marvel also has all sorts of issues with rights for different characters, whereas Lucasfilm owns the rights to everything Star Wars (save for distribution rights for ANH but that's coming).
Also, almost everything Marvel takes place in NYC, whereas Star Wars is an entire Galaxy, so it's really easy to believe Luke Skywalker never visited Random TV World 17, unlike thinking that Spiderman and Daredevil never crossed paths.

Most interesting... I'm usually a little behind the ball on the comics. Tend to get the Trade Paper-Backs as they come available.
Yeah, same. They're more durable and I'm not a collector, so I don't care about the future value beyond the value of re-reading them.

Interesting that they're all wearing OT uniforms.

This is great! I'm always looking for more things to talk about when I'm in uniform. And it'll give me some "in character" ideas.

I love Jon Favreau but I’m still petrified about what could go wrong. They could go so many different routes. They could go the primetime route like abc or nbc but then whether it’s good or bad plotwise I still feel like that would cheapen the brand... At least a little bit. Marvel had nothing to lose reputationwise when the released Agents of Shield, which happens to be a terrific show with an amazing plot.
Another route they could go is premium subscription networks like HBO. That’s touchy ground though because as it is Star Wars it has always been meant to be family friendly; Something that HBO is not commonly associated with. However if they made a TV14 Star Wars series on HBO it’s hard to imagine it not being a total success.
Netflix could also give a similarly high quality production.

Well they're doing it for their own Netflix-like service coming in the near future, but keep in mind they own ABC.

I think keeping Filoni in animation is fine, he's done a great job there.
-
basically echoing all my thoughts here. Favreau is great, Marvel was great with him heading it/starting it, and he's a nerd's nerd who knows Star Wars, I'm sure.

Live action Star Wars TV at last?
Let's all wildly speculate....

You know, I was rewatching the last episode with my kids. And WELL, there is a loop hole in our theories. I noticed for the tentacles to be inside the bridge that the glass had to be broken. And Ezra even lifted it using his force powers. It was all over a couple of shots. And I know that in reality, if you are exposed to space you die. So even in hyperspace. You would be exposed to the vacuum of space. I think they accidentally killed Ezra and thrawn. So, now in my head if they show back up. I'm going to want an explanation of how they lived the vacuum of space and at hyperspeed to boot!
Stinking physics! Always getting in my way! Just like gravity being my greatest foe. Its always dragging me down in life
Filoni already confirmed they survived. All things are possible with The Force!

I feel like I waited FOREVER to be able to post in this thread, but that's the deal when you have kids. Have to wait until there's no scouts, gymnastics, soccer, chess club, music lessons, underwater basketweaving....
Anyway, a really great finale. I can't wait for the next Filoni show.
Do they Salute in the Star Wars universe?
