xAlpha got a reaction from bjsavage7 in Navy Trooper CRL Update
I believe I'm now ready to start this thread!

I've been doing a lot of research (with tons of help!) on, specifically, the ROTJ Naval Trooper, especially the belt, greeblie, and gloves.

    Current CRL:
    http://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:IN_imperial_navy_trooper

    Belt and Greeblie research here:
    Gloves here:
I'm waiting for a sunny day again (hard to find this time of year in New Hampshire) to get my Imperator photos done, but I think the info is out there now well enough that we can work on updating the verbiage for the CRL. I'd love to see updates for both ANH and ROTJ, so if anyone has any input, please please please feel free!

The biggest change for ROTJ is the belt greeblie. I'm not sure how to describe it, so I would just say something like (but less clunky):

    Belt Greeblie for ROTJ
Greeblie is small, rectangular device with a raised circle, as pictured (and I'll take better photos, obviously). There is a metallic inner circle embedded in the raised circle. A translucent set of rectangular "keys" is attached to one end. OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): Greeblie keys are 5 rectangles Greeblie base color is grey OPTIONAL Level three certification (if applicable): Greeblie matches screen-used prop
I'm pretty certain that the horizontal belt boxes should be deleted. I don't recall seeing them on screen at all.

There's also a variant for the belt which has two studs, rather than one! It's rare, only on one (maybe two!) troopers, but it should be included, too. The key to that one is that the buckle is the same height as the belt, as seen here:

On the gloves, they have three lines (not pinched), so we can copy the verbiage from the other CRLs with those style of gauntlet gloves.

Or perhaps we could just have an NCO's or Non-commisioned Officers Club. Just like the real military

This would increase the number of potential members by also including Crewmen, Navy Troopers and the lesser but by no means least Mechanical Crew.

Say a prayer for those in the northern part of the state.
Hurricane Michael has hit them with a huge blast of the dark side.
Also, if you would, say a prayer for my Daughter Katie.
She passed away 2 weeks ago at the far to young age of 30.
The greatest love of my life has been called home.

They were seen on the screen in ANH. You just have to watch the scene where Alderaan gets destroyed. I lightened up the last image. You can clearly see that they do not wear jackboots.

Since there's no specific CRL for women (aside from a face character or two), anything you do has to be hidden. I seem to remember a post somewhere about using darts hidden behind the yoke.

I'm just afraid that the low boots, straight trousered, no hat option is going to lead to a bunch of sloppy(?) looking officers.
Especially for Staff officers, who are gonna look from behind like they're just wearing a black suit.
I now move that the  Science Officer CRL be changed to "Off Duty Officer" and that it have two configurations: Line and Staff.
And the rank bar worn with this new CRL will have to be one that is seen on screen in conjunction with that uniform.
That gives two people a chance to be CRL models. One on each tab. Bonus!

I finally got off my posterior armor plating and have started the shin armor parts.

The paper template was perfect, but when transferred to foam I needed to add some to account for the added thickness.  So I did.  But not quite enough.
But I'm very happy with this prototype.  I obviously need to paint the heel and sole sides black, but that'll be last.

Cool! Shame I'm only a Warrant Officer tho....I don't think a plain black shirt would be quite as cool!

I feel like 2" is not really a good measurement:

And, given that we try to make things proportional to the wearer, having inches at all makes it difficult. When I got approved for Bridge Crew, my GML had questions about my hat because of the measurements listed there, despite it being rather proportional to my head. I'm not sure what the answer there is, but maybe something more like:

"A dart from the center of the collar to just below the hieght of the code cylinder pocket" (as you'll notice in those pics above, it is below that pocket).

(I'm ignoring that Piett wouldn't actually get approved from that second picture since there appears to be no neck closure or modesty panel.)

    Good morning all.
This came up in the GMLs forum this past week, and again today here.
The condesned version is a GML questioned how long the dart was on a new applicant's submission.  It's a level 2 thing anyway, but we said it was fine.
    Applicant approved all is good.
The newly minted IOC member has asked about the wording of the level 2 dart requirement, to perhaps save confusion for future applicants.
Thus, I propose changing the wording from, "there is a dart of about 2 inches..." to now read "There is a dart that can measure between 2 inches to no lower than the top of the wearer's code cylinder pockets".
    Thanks for reading!

My dad has been asking to come to more stuff when I bring the family out, and he's also a professional photographer. Might be kind of cool having two of these in NEG, even!

Pretty much, just with the ESB style helmet, goggles and armor instead of the Solo style, and the R1/Solo officer trench coat over it and no gas mask

    Hey all.
I am really interested in creating a Holonet News Officer. As I am usually the photographer for the NEG I thought it would be cool to have an “Imperial Press Corps” type officer and I discussed it with some friends and one of them mentioned that
there is a “face character” Alton Castle in Rebels but as I am defintiely not a brown haired Caucasian I was wondering how I would start to create one as there is no CRL for it. I have started researching this and I can show you what I have so far.
