I found this on a site called Parts of Star Wars. Evidently is shows a Rebel Trooper carrying a DL-21 in a holster. It doesn't look too complicated. I might have to play around and see if I can make a pattern. The cool thing about this hobby is learning to do new things. Time to check leather working off the list.

[Sewing in stirrups]

Not really an exact method, but, I just took my wife's fabric tape measure and took a measurement while I was wearing the pant's.  I would err on the small size, you want the elastic to be tight so it pulls the pant legs down, but not so tight it rips the stitching out.  I think my measurement was 8".
