At least wool would be accurate to the military background of the coat's origin based on some coats used about 80 years ago. And those coats were often lined with cotton or wool at the collar.
-
That really looks great. Congratulations on that progress.
As far as Ellen an I could see it in the pictures, the inner part ot the collar seems to be lined with a different fabric than the rest. It appears to be a little matte. So maybe they used something with wool or valvet for this.
Concerning the fabric for the outer coat: I ordered a coat from ebay some time ago. It was stinking to the death and did not match the pattern of the movie-coat by far. I am afraid it was a similar one as shown in the links above. So keep your hands of that stuff =D
The main material appears to be closer to the fabic of the raincape, even though it might be a little stiffer or thicker.

Last saturday in Speyer/Germany, Kevin and I were happy to meet and troop together
Thank you for the pleasant troop, Kevin. I am sure we will do some more in the future!

In my Garrison we are three future Line Officers who ordered fabric at the run of the German Garrison. The more we are, the cheaper the fabric costs will be. As far as I know Marc (he got just awarded for 25 troops) here at the forum is the man to talk with.
Yes, I am here. Even though Antje Walzel an I have not yet offered the fabric here. But if the IOC allows this kind of order (collective pre-paid-order) we could start this here too.

After a great weekend in the german Legoland, I am reporting in again with some nice new Pictures.
I was accomapnied by two absolutley loyal TK's who protected me by the risk of their own life:
I was happy enough to meet this Lady once again:
A nice meet&greet with an Admiral from a competing fleet took place:
One of our elite-TIE-pilots sent Lord Vader and me up to the skies and back again:
I trtied to keep relaxed thoughout hte whole weekend:
Even when I met with people who let off some steam:
So what shall I say in the end? Once again I experienced that life is like a roller-coaster

Lord Vader and I just had some hard work to attend...
I met with the most friendly bridge-officer in the whole galaxy:
... and also met his commanding Admiral:
My loyal escort was always at my side, when Vader was busy elsewhere:
I catched up with a jedi and his former master ...
Then I got boxed and felt like a toy:
At last Vader and I signed the loan-contract for financing the build of a new death star. Even though the Mu'un raised the interest-rates because of loosing two death star's before, we are confident, it won't happen again.
But I am sometimes allowed to enjoy the more pleasantly side of my rank
Don't tell Thalassa ... or Daa'la
There were two guys who maybe warped into the correct time ... but into the wrong universe for sure!
After plenty of work, we were on our way home. I had to pay tribute to the intensity of being an imperial Grand Moff
Thanks to our dear and loyal imperial photographer Daniel Dornhöfer for the last two of these shots. The first one was taken by a yet unknown professional

Welcome to the empire.

Thank you for posting here, Erik. Great to get all of us Tarkin's collected soon.
Is Vince Newkirk approved as Tarkin? I only saw an Officer-approval there in his 501st-profile ...
-
Congratulations for your approval as Grand Moff Tarkin, Sebastian. Now the Galaxy is under a much tighter control than before. Let's work together for the pride and the glory of the Empire.

Well that is quite a surprise seeing you 45 years older that soon. Very good basis and on top of Ben's statement you should try to get the hair back with gel much stronger and try to stiffen the flaps of the pant with some stuff you glue in through ironing. Once again I have to state it looks good so far. Maybe the collar could be two centimeters taller ... and try to pale down the face. Tarkin lives on the Death Star and never sees the sun

Interesting. He seem to have no rank-bar on his chest but rank-stripes on his sleeves. The tunic and belt-design looks familiar on the first sight. Let's wait for more detailed pictures ...

Everybody who got his Tarkin approved is invited to join our new facebook-group "The 501st Tarkins": https://www.facebook.com/groups/860181760734789/?fref=ts
This is strictly for Tarkins of course. Just look for "Marc TK Tarkin" on Facebook and drop me a line ...

Thank you Daniel and thank you Bob for dropping some lines here. And I am very happy we come together here all over the world. One Tarkin was close to knock down the rebellion. Imagine what a group of us might be able to do ... ☺
I guess I missed to introduce myself personally the way all of you did so kindly.
My name is Marc Hense, I am 37 years old and I live in Frankfurt am Main/Germany. I have joined the 501st as a stormtrooper in January 2015. A fellow trooper told me that due to my face I should think about adding a Tarkin-Costume to my wardrobe. I followed his suggestion and got Tarkin approved in April this year.
@Bob: you can upload photos with www.photobucket.com or similar services. You need to register for free and get some Megabytes to upload pictures there. Each picture you will upload has a link, which you can copy and paste into your text here. Than the picture will appear in the text. It took me some tests until I figured it out but it works great after all.

@Bob: Indeed the hair war my greatest challenge (besides sewing my own uniform). I was forced to let it grow a little longer than I am used to. And I used a lot of gel for it. But it has worked out for me.
@Sebastian: I am nearly 37 years old and needed to get some grey and white color into my hair. The best way to look a little older: get yourselves some children - that's working best in my experience  No, to be serious, I just made some experiments on my face with FX-Makeup but it looked ridicolous. Then my wife told me, just to darken the area underneath the cheekbones a little and then paling down the face with a bit of powder - and what should I say: she was right about that. And the Makeup made that way even survived 35° C last weekend in Legoland Germany.

I see the possibility of wearing the code-cylinders on Tarkin's armor. Veers can not wear them underneath his version of the battle-armor.
Admiral Versio - Battlefront 2
in New CRLs
Posted · Edited by Paggeldiwwer
The uniform of Admiral Versio appears completely different to what we know to be an ISB-tunic. Even though some Details match, some other differ quite a lot.
On the front, the right side of double breasts upper edge ends a few more centimeters lower than on an ISB-tunic. And of course there are code-cylinder-pockets.
The Admirals rankbar has of course nothing to do with the well known ISB-Major-Rankbar. The hats front bill has five stitches (they have just met the CRL - lucky game-Designers ). And the notch? Yeah, just give a it turn to 6 o'clock - maybe Versio is in deep grief about the Emperors death.
Concerning the collar it looks like there is no modesty Panel. The Clips of the code-cylinders have nothing to do with the classic ones we usually wear. Unless they tried to replicate the way Tarkin used his Clips by only hooking the cylinders up on the small upper hook.
On his back we can see the princess-seams (it's curve is way more tightend than we know it) and an additional center-seam in the middle. I do not know yet, if I like that...
Once again we get reminded, that game Designers and Animators do not have a good sense for real-life-tailoring
But let's see what we can construct from these Basics Hopefully a new CRL, maybe?
