CommanderSelfie reacted to sepulcra in McCall's Patterns
I noticed on the McCall's website for costumes.. they have one for Rey (M7421) and one for Kylo Ren (M7422). And a coat that might be useful in the Hux greatcoat (M7374) Might be of some help for people starting out with basics.
Anyways thought I'd mention these.

CommanderSelfie reacted to fil5117 in Third hand information from John Mollo regarding Officers
I was discussing the officer uniform on another forum - when Peter Briggs a screenplay writer who's currently developing Panzer 88 with Gary Kurtz made this comment:
"I remember that John Mollo told me that his intent with the "Black Officers" was to make them Vader's personal troops…they were Vader's very own "SS". I was surprised at that, as I always assumed they were simply a standard Imperial rank. Likewise, John told me that the white/cream uniformed guy in the Death Star conference was modeled after Goering, and he was meant to be a sort of Air Field Marshall of the Imperial Fleet. John took his job very seriously. I think it showed!"
I couldn't think where to put it, but I thought it was worth sharing, for those who hadn't heard it.

CommanderSelfie reacted to arklore70 in "Who are you?"moment
I think it depends on who it is and the manner in which the question was asked. I get this a lot in historical reeenacting. I thank them regardless of the question. If they have elevated me from the postion or role I am portraying I thank them for my future leadership potential and superior command presence. If they have accidentlay demoted me, I thank them for still seeing me a physcially fit, leads from the front and trenches. If they ask if I am something out by the third ring of Saturn, the same rule applies.
If its a special needs child or adult, I am just happy to interact with them and do what it takes to bring a smile on their face.

CommanderSelfie reacted to BensID39999 in Salute?
and it was a brisk and sloppy "Yes-SIR!" which I always thought was kind of sarcastic
You also notice nobody the head bow is only given to Vader, cause you know, he'll choke the life out of you.

I have a hunch it will be pretty good.
Lots of RUMINT.
Honeslty, if a major charater does die, to include Han, how is that any different than reality? All wars carry a human cost in blood and treasure.
If it serves the telling of a uniquely human tale, brings feeling, and makes us reflect, I don't see it as a bad thing.
Some of the greatest stories have major characters dying. I am just glad G.R.R. Martin didn't write the story or script. We'd lose half the characters in 2 hours, be confused where the story is going, and have to wait 30 years for this new trilogy to be completed. Course a G.R.R. Martin ending to Jar Jar Binks would please the Sith in me.

Just saying... Many claim that George Lucas ruined his own franchise with the prequels.
I believe it won't be any worse. I have hopes that the new films will be good.
