    Sigh...

    Still waiting to hear back, sent a fresh contact us with my measurements after my reply with measurements, Nada!

    But saw today that the website has improved significantly, so I've sent another fresh order.

    They've gotten a little more cagey about what they call their boots (TK's are now "421's" and clones are "twins" - tee hee)

    I may be wrong, but 2 code cylinders with 1 red and 1 blue tile, is the rank for an ensign?

    (I'm usually on the mobile version, so at first I was all like, whaaaaaaat? There's a rank under my picture?)

    I've been building my ANH Warrant Officer (organising approval photos ATM).

    Once I find riding boots, I'm adding ROTJ Warrant Officer and ANH Staff Officer (praji and tredium style, maybe childsen) to the roster

    I'm also going to do bridge crew, TIE reserve and scanning crew. (Then I start looking for helmets!)

    I'm frugal, so (including rank, glove and weapon variations) building 9+ costumes from 1 jacket, 2 pairs of pants, 2 flightsuits (with compad), 2 pairs of boots, 2 code cylinders, some gloves and an assortment of rank bars, is extremely cool!

    So in conclusion, my first 501st/IOC costume will be ANH Warrant Officer.

    I am now the proud owner of a Warrant Officer uniform!

    1st impressions:

    Jacket fits good, neck hooks are awkward (but that's just my big meathooks)

    Straight pants are a little snug at the waist (cardio?) Small pocket each side (does show below jacket, so just for photo ID or trading cards for kids)

    Jodphur pants fit good, but the flares are as expected, wide'n'flappy, but that's an easy fix.

    I'm going to frame the measurement sheet that came in the bag!

    Update:

    Watch the jacket's snaps, having to get one sewn back on at the waist by the dry cleaner, while I'm getting it pressed for my approval photos

    I've only seen a sort of short cape/poncho style deal on some EU imperials (came up in a semi-unrelated image search, no idea what comic it came from) looked to be made from the same materials as the uniform?

    I live in QLD (summer = Nevada heat/Louisiana humidity!) So I'm happy with just the uniform thanks!

    Best part of your own threads, who cares!

    Thankfully even though the math thing they run your parents heights through says I'm taller than I should be. The test and retest from '92 (and another when I was 20 ruling pituitary abnormalities out as a cause of my type 2 diabetes) showed no gigantism. I'm just what happens when Anglo Saxon/celts move to Australia and one meets a Anglo Norman/Viking guy in new zealand.

    I've got a 42" waist but my BMI is edging 30! Obese, really? I couldn't lose 20 kg unless an arm fell off!

    I'm 6'8" but I can barely jump high enough to touch the rim. People do tend to bounce off when they run into me though!

    [Voice in background] ...sorry, what's that, boots? Which boots?... Ohhhhh, right [clears throat for comedic effect] yes so as I was saying, old style boots with modern tread soles?

    Just realised this question would apply for people looking at original Knobelbechers that have been resoled by the vendor with chunky lug soles instead of flat dress shoe style soles!

    The problem with me physically being a fully laden dump truck, is that the guy behind the wheel has ADHD! so...

    No one ever thinks of cars! Ever get in and stick your knee right into the steering wheel? Or smack yourself upside the head on the door jamb?

    I get the basketball one all the time too, you should know I'm stealing the miniature golf line - its too good! (Although when informed how tall I am, I have been known to pat myself down while looking confused and/or shocked, as though I hadn't realised until they told me!)

    On one glorious shining occasion, someone set themselves up perfectly for me to hit them with "don't go away angry... just go away!" [mic drop].

    Well, over on JRC, someone helpfully put these up as a thread. And someone else pointed out that they got a completely different pair of boots than the images from the same seller (links were removed, but I recognised the background in the photos).

    Now I can understand that in a standard size they could have multiple pairs selling from one listing. And they're only selling one pair of 50's, so the likelihood that they're not the ones pictured is slim. But not slim enough, they've got a 100% rating, but I'm now very leery of them.

    Anyone have an opinion about this?

    I can't stop singing the theme to red dwarf in my head now!

    Even worse, I'm singing it out loud now!!!

    Can't wait to watch a Star Wars movie in my uniform, I just hope they put some tall guys in there that aren't wearing the equivalent of a sweatlodge as a costume, so I've got something to aspire to.

    If you want to change the title, just edit the original post and the title line should be above the main text box. Or just leave it, I think it's funny!

    They're for a warrant officer, and then for any NCO I can build around them (even the filthy rebel scum ones).

    Besides I'm very tall so there'd be no chance of staff or line with them.

    I'm going to go ask him if they're leather or not now that I've registered with eBay, the same guy has German police boots in the same size in what lools more like leather, but they'll cost way more after conversion (but if they're right, they'll be wearable for a very long time (better than kirza!) And quality tells)

    Opinions (in all honesty, that price is only 2 pairs of basic name brand sports shoes in my size. Every time someone says, "I wish I was as tall as you", I point out the fact that they could walk into a Kmart wearing a potato sack with a $100 pinned to it - and walk out dressed head to toe... With change in their new wallet!)

    I confused them with my pocket so I told them not to worry about it, because [Ned Stark] Halloween is coming!, and it simplified my order.🺠(ðŸ©)

    Oh no, I just had a mental image of what would happen if the tailor uses all my measurents exactly for the finished product! (😨ðŸ‹ðŸ™ˆðŸš“🔒😞)

    Okay,

    I just placed my order with CS.

    I Put every measurement from the start of this thread plus an extra one my mother thought of (neck to shoulder). I'm getting an extra pair of straight leg trousers made (yes, I know any black pants yadda yadda but I decided Meh!). I'm also getting a small top opening pocket on the right side of both, for an aluminium billfold/card holder. I asked for the flares to be moved so that their centre was at the crotch, as well. If they're too big, they're easily taken in.

    MyKill do good?

    And now the waiting game begins (and my good natured ribbing of others about anovos wait times comes back to haunt me).
