I read the whole topic and I'm pleased to see that I have something really new to add.
Despit the Grand Admiral uniform I have been called Tarkin a couple of times.
 
But this one, happenned a month or so ago at a con.
I was walking an alley with one of our stormtroopers talking about all and every thing and then comes out of nowhere a little girl in disney princess costume. 
And then all the sudden she says :
" Are you a prince ? Dad ! I want the picture with the prince ! "
White uniform, golden epaulets, and she had her picture with the " prince ".
 
Then I was forced to throw a stromtrooper through the airlock to supress all witness.

Nice!

Well ok... 5 Troops in 3 Days...
I was lucky to have a busy weekend, with five troops split over three days with the UK Garrison.

I decided I was proud enough of this foolishness/accomplishment to post this here.
Inspired by biscuits 5 troops in 5 days, and fueled by the question 'can I survive this?'. I undertook to troop 3 troops in the space of 30 short hours.
Now normally this wouldn't really be a noteworthy/difficult task - but the middle troop was full participation in a 'Relay For Life' event (I was there for 16 of the 21 hours it ran)
Organisations supported:
1. The Starlight Foundation,
2. Cancer Council,
3. Bardon Community Kindergarten.
The line "that was fun, let's never do that again!" Never fit so well.
(I'd probably do it again )

I've only managed 4 days in a row (twice), you're a machine!

I've probably just not found it yet, but do we have somewhere where we record our troops? The Sith Lord Detachment has the Jedi Purge, and the Sovereign Protectors have a Tour of Duty. I"m probably just not looking properly, but if someone could point me in the right direction, that would be lovely.

Turns out I'm a bit special and forgot to apply for detachment access. Explains why I couldn't find it. Duh.

As an Officer you can yell at people , it's super effective when you need to clear a path for your half blind Stormtrooper soldiers , or when you need to keep a specific location clear , say ... Around some props at Celebrations because people can't read " Don't touch " signs

Don't do that Bob, an officer isn't a handler, an officer is the dark spirit off our army! You are not so far from my power... )

I treat my officer as a costumed handler.

HE CAN MAKE THE BOOTS!!!
We're talking just like the CRL Jack boot. top strap, orthotic insole room, wood pegged, heel & toe iron having Knobelbechers - big clompy romper stompers!!!
Now, they're a little pricier than his standard m39's but theyre about the same as decent riding boots, so I can live with that price for boots I'll wear forever!
While I'm excited, I'm not going to get overexcited - I've learned from my experience with turdbert, err I mean trabert.
I know this post is only really for me. But if any other Imperial squatches want accurate boots - they may exist (provided dropping 600 USD appeals to you).
I'll keep you posted for no reason other than it will stop me telling random people in the street!

I am a police officer so there is no end to the ribbing I take. However, when they tease me, I look them dead in the eyes and say, "Yes, I dress up as a Star Wars character and make sick kids feel better for a little while."
 
There is no retort for that. They just wander off and leave me smiling.

Awesome so so tempted to fly up for supanova.

I WORKS in a chain OFFICE supply shop in Australia, and my bosses and team members are all for it (after the initial "you do what on the weekend?").
My boss has even let me out of Stocktake so I can get to GC supanova next month!

Custom-made is pretty much our only option (15/16 myself).
Officer boots are pure custom that big.
At least that's my experience so far, if you find something less than 550us (polocrosse boots) please let me know because that's the lowest I've found (in Australia). Truly accurate (equestrian)is looking like 850us (USA, or Australia), Sigh...
IB used to list 15, but that's disappeared from their site.
Being in the USA, you've got better access to the custom bootmaking heritage either side of your southern border with Mexico. Could be worth a Google.

Ah yes, I see the lining now.
I'll console myself with the fact that even if they'd sewn the darn thing right it would still be too small for the mannequin.
