bobafett4ever reacted to xAlpha in 451 style uniform CRL
That's a pretty good idea. I was going to say "compromise" but it isn't really a compromise so much as it just allows everyone to keep their kit and still be accurate.
As a reenactor, this happens quite frequently as new things are uncovered; I have a box of "crap I can't use now" because of it. So it's good see ways in which everyone can come out ahead.

My opinion is to make the current Staff Officer CRL into a Rogue One Staff Officer CRL, because we see Officers with exactly that type of uniform in R1 and thanks to Glyn Dillon we also have a couple of possible ranks for them.
I think this is a good way to
A - make it correct about what is ANH and what is not ANH uniform
and
B - no one would have to sell items like rank bar, code cylinders whatever.

The IN CRL wording is correct. The only INs who ever wore the 451 were the two in the Star Wars Holiday Special, which we "could" do a CRL for, but....it's the Holiday Special. lol.

bobafett4ever got a reaction from xAlpha in 451 style uniform CRL
Not to be obnoxious or start drama, but since we now know ANH only wore the 451's (if I'm correctly recalling other posts), do you think it's time to update the Black Staff Officer so that no reference to ANH is on it?
For me, I won't wear my Staff Officer black uniform as ANH from now on just because I now know it's not movie accurate (kind of the point of the 501st standards). I did just yesterday get approved as a RotJ Warrant Officer, so it's not like a loss. All is good except I'll sell my code cylinders and rank badges I had (Ensign and Commander).
I just hate seeing all the new Staff Officer's coming on board thinking they are mimicking an ANH Officer, and we know they technically aren't.
I was thinking that we should now have the 451 CRL, which looks great, staff Officer black CRL (referencing EU), and clean up Warrant Officer to cover RotJ and ANH if those in straight leg pants fit into this category.
Also, the Navy Trooper in dress CRL makes a comment with regards to ANH wearing a black version of the ISB Agent, but it appears that is incorrect as well if they were also wearing the 451.
Just my shower thoughts the help the CRLs be as accurate as possible.

This is the reason I got into ROTJ Warrant Officers. It’s actually as unique to ROTJ as the 451 is to ANH. I love it!
And it was us that first uttered the immortal line “You Rebel scum!”
Who needs a rank bar? We have belt boxes

So now that the 451 CRL is live, what's shaking on the Warrant Officer CRL?
Just checking in as I'm thinking of doing a RotJ (Warrant Officer?) since my black Cosplaysky uniform isn't 451-style and I just don't feel right wearing it as such with the ANH accessories.

If the uniform will not work for Rogue One, I have already purchased a second set of belt boxes for a ROTJ warrant officer. I feel the same way about ANH accessories on mine now.

Would it be a good idea to give the warrant officers there own prefix number instead of the sharing the staff /line officer ID it might help generate interest the Rotj warrant officer has just been a optional on the staff officer crl and doesn't really get noticed

To reiterate what Kris said above so it is crystal clear, if you already have a staff officer, are working on a staff officer, or planning to create the staff officer which matches the current CRL, you are fine & have nothing to worry about. I do hope the 451 will become the standard at some point. Since the staff uniform has been the way it is for so long, and has been (let's face it) our most common IOC uniform, correcting it has proven difficult, especially since so many other things always popped up to take priority for the IOC's focus. I am excited to see this get such a huge push in the right direction. Now we just need all the Cosplayskys and similar makers to jump on board.

All of them, but right now in the interest of fairness we are allowing the other CRL to remain as it is

The CRL only says "correct clip". We disussed this issue here somewhere but the clips sometimes give a silverish-brasslike-look where it is difficult to tell if it is silver or brass. I think the Picture from the CRL really is a nice reference for this question as it looks a bit silverish as well as a bit like brass.
The Staff Officer uniform with the now so called "imperial pattern" is seen on the Navy Troopers in ESB (there were no Staff Officers in this movie) later on the Staff/Warrant Officers and IN's in RotJ and finally on those in Rogue One (even though they had some minor changes to the pattern in R1).

I am a huge fan of the staff officer uniform, and the 451 in particular. I completely agree with the creation of a new CRL to illustrate its dramatic differences from the other (few) staff officer uniform examples in the films.
However, with the only ready-to-wear examples costing upwards of $1300, the number of ANH staff officers will be in the range of the number of Darth Vaders (probably less). It would be nice if a good quality 451 pattern can be passed on to Cosplaysky for a low-cost uniform alternative, particularly for those using the staff officer uniform as an entry point to the 501st.

Some of our applicants in Germany kept telling us their tailors insisted this seam to be necessary for the overall stability of the entire uniform. Nice story indeed - but wrong as well. Through the two princess-seams left and right there is plenty of stability und durability. And as we know it worked for centuries on traditional military-tunics. So there is no professional argument for inplying this seam where it should not be.
But let's keep this topic's focus: the game designers are thoe ones who messed this up

bobafett4ever reacted to DarthFunk83 in Admiral Versio - Battlefront 2
I honestly wonder how much of the design inconsistencies of Admiral Versio was by design, and how much was just lack of attention to detail. Like the notch on the hat... did someone just misremember how it was orientated and it never got caught, or was it on purpose for some reason?

bobafett4ever reacted to Ithilnar in Admiral Versio - Battlefront 2
This "sector-specific" solution is so stupid... We have one army on whole galaxy and now every sector has different rank system? It's illogical and makes mess in military structure. They should made one rank-plaques system besides movies and this problem will end.

The rank structure in Star Wars has never really made a whole lot of sense...

ACD got the General Veers costume (transformed into AT-AT Commander) because he commanded the AT-AT forces. That was before my time, and I'll not comment on whether or not I agree with it. Nor do I particularly wish to rehash that debate.
That does not mean that every single officer costume with battle armor necessarily goes to ACD. Their mandate, specifically is " ... facilitates the Research, Archiving, Development & Creation for all Imperial Ground Assault Vehicle Operators/Commanders of the Star Wars saga." Not "Anyone with officer uniform and chest armor"
In the case of these officers such as Rebels Thrawn, Pryce, etc, that already have existing costumes represented, they are seen donning battle armor once or twice on screen, and not specifically and only to command ground assault vehicles. It makes more sense to me, and the current LMO Team, to simply add in said Battle Armor as an optional accessory to their respective CRL. Once someone actually make it to reference, that is.
