I agree with you completely, it's just that (as it is) I don't feel like the First Order costumes get enough love from their respective detachments, but that's most likely remedied with time and CRLs.

Eh.  FO TK's and Captain Phasma get plenty of love.  If you mean the FO officers - blame that on Disney and LFL.  EVERY. SINGLE. SCENE. save the outdoors wideangle one with officers is so freaking dark we've been taking forever to pick out details.  Add to it the VD only had a front or a side view of most of them, and it's been a real struggle to make them - sadly they'll probably hold until Episode 8.

It's almost like either the FO forgot to pay the light bill, or Krylo.. I mean, Kylo thought it was cool for it to be dark. :P

Yeah, the idea for a separate enlisted type crew detachment was brought up, I kinda like the concept but getting a new detachment off the ground can be pretty difficult.

That's because the people with the costume have to agree that they need a new detachment (or a majority of them, at least), and then get approval from Legion Officers.  Then they have to build the detachment.

I tend to agree that having a detachment for one costume is a little much - I've always felt MEPD ought to be a subset of FISD and not it's own - but if they wanted to change the Gunnery detachment name, and if all the ground grew and bridge crew agreed to move to it, more power to them - but again, they'd have to agree to do it.

I definitely applaud the addition of new detachments. I personally think we need a completely new detachment for First Order troopers/officers, as they'd find more benefit from their own community than they would from sharing their resources with Original Trilogy nerds! I think the Ground Crew's addition to the Gunnery Corps is a no-brainer given the helmet, as it's so visually similar to the Gunner helmet.

I strongly disagree on FO Detachment - for one, many guys in FISD wouldn't know their way around an officer costume, or vica versa from IOC.  Secondly, keeping FO stuff in IOC and FISD and Spec Ops keeps similar costumes helping each other - I don't know the FIRST damn thing about strapping armor, but FISD does.

I'm a gml I need another detachment like a hole in the head there's too many at the moment ask any  gml if we need anymore .The amount of time we spend on all the different forums is unreal so as far has the ground crew let the gunners have it keep it simple

This exactly.  If we want to clean up detachments, cool - I understand but still don't agree with why so many Sith are in FE and not SL, and as I said, MEPD as a whole doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.  (For that matter, a separate Biker detachment doesn't make a lot of sense to me either.)  But to add more detachments just to have more detachments is a horrendous pain in the keester.

  3. I've heard the theory about war not really starting until the first Death Star went up.  I don't know why that would affect rankings, but I can see if they were just getting everything together, it might if they started to realize no one could tell who was a higher rank because everyone had different systems - so I would agree that at some point all the groups were brought under the same system.

So Krennic, Galen and one other officer have extended collars. Three clasps instead of the normal two you get with cosplaysky uniforms.

Is there anyone who can talk to Cosplaysky and discuss their Krennic uniform, bringing it more in line with their other uniforms?

I actually counted 4 (yes, I'm that guy, I'm sorry, I'll actually just watch the film tonight :P )

One right at the base of the collar, then 3 on up.  I'd say the collar is more like 6-7 CM tall, vs the 4-4.5 that we get standard.  In the meantime, I'd say if you're ordering one, (and you don't have a short neck), put a note in there to make the collar that tall. (I'd take a tape measure or a piece of cardstock that tall and check it in a mirror to make sure you look right with it)

Just to be sure for my sake. The bill on the Store hat is too long correct? It looks to be the same length as my first hat and I got chewed out for it

I think it just depends on your head? (Or maybe GML) - I had no issues with L1 approval with the Disney hat - but I'm 6'6" and have a BIG head :P

I would also like to know about this...crazy that there is already a CRL for Shoretroopers but still nothing for FO Officers. :? Gotta start preparing for Episode VIII! :-D

Because of the fact we have very little CLEAR reference material on FO officers - front/back/side/etc.  Most of the scenes were dark af, so it's been difficult.

FYI I contacted Cosplaysky about ordering the deluxe Officers uniform and getting the tunic in white instead of black. Their reply was that they are no longer doing color changes on these. Not sure what's up with that, they have the material so you would think it wouldn't be an issue.

Did you use the $20 option to do it, or just ask them to do it for free?  Because there's an actual Color Change option you pay for.

Here's a nice large version for everybody. I'm not really seeing much detail past what we already got in Battlefront that the silver portion is the back of the "chamber" section popped off. A couple of pics have me wondering if the section that slots into the chamber goes into a loop on the belt rather than clipping on, but I'm still not sure exactly how that section should look. Fingers crossed for a good shot in the visual guide!

Looking at something else from that photo - his collar really is taller than the other officers.  I thought it was just my eyes and CPS being a bit off - but either his neck is hella shorter than the guy in the line officer in the bottom right, or his collar is a lot taller.

And having measure the cloak collar, I'm going with B

New pictures I ran across in People Magazine of all places - we can actually start to make out the "ammo pouch"

Sorry for the potato quality of the photos, all I had was my older iPhone.

Also noticing at least here that his belt sags a bit - which with all the weight on that side makes physics sense, so it's kinda neat to see they didn't superglue his belt in place or whatever the Empire does with other officers :P

I was comparing to my current Staff Officer black tunic (not ISB) and based on what I'm reading here, it does appear to be the same only in white and that I could pair it up with my existing office pants.

I recall reading a post from BJ further back in this thread that indicated the CRL would state white.  I wonder how much wiggle-room there will be for approval for the various shades of white that are out there?

Honestly, I wouldn't try for wiggle room - if you're going CPS, they have White Gaberdine (they use it in their Thrawn costume).  If you're making yourself,, you can try here (https://www.onlinefabricstore.net/white-gabardine-fabric-.htm), here (http://www.joann.com/sew-classic-bottomweights-gabardine-fabric/prd32696.html), here (https://www.amazon.com/Online-Fabric-Store-White-Gabardine/dp/B00I80PMFW), or just google White Gaberdine - I'm not sure on the weights on those, but I would assume if you're making yourself (or have a seamstress) they could identify which one was comperable to your black tunic.

Same with the cloak - white lightweight treated cotton fabric.  Best answer I have on this is the different shades in the different pictures are lighting defects - from my boots on the ground at SWCE this year, the suit and cloak were white - not ivory, or greyish white, but white - yes, that can encompass quite a few dyes, but aim for white and you surely won't have any issues.

The hat would im sure be optional

Most likely - though if the rain poncho scenes always have him with the hat, I'd say if you use poncho and not cape, hat required?  Similar to Line officers - you need the hat for level 1, but L2, depending on who you're emulating, you don't.

The tunic is different.  The ISB tunic has no pockets for code cylinders, Krennic has the pockets.  Or, did you mean compared to the ANH black tunic?  If so then yeah it's just like the ANH tunic but in white.  Question for those that saw the tunic in person - is it white or off white?  I ask in that lighting can change everything.  My ISB tunic is a cream color but as you can see from my avatar looks white in photos.

I'm thinking current ID gloves will be OK for L1, but not for L3.

Hat has a different disk for L2/L3.

He only wears the hat (that we've seen) with the Rain Poncho, so until we get clearer views on that, Hat is probably a "don't worry about it"

  13. Boot hooks are a must - and not just because I'm an old man :P  With the big boots you have two options - boot jacks, or pulling on those loops tjat Jared mentioned until it gets to the portion of your leg that your leg + fingers won't fit, and then you end up stomping your foot down to get the rest of the boot on your foot (no, I have no real world experience with this, why do you ask? *sheepish*)

I'd go as far as to say boot jacks are a must - to the point I ended up making my own.  Two things - as long as the ENTIRE receiving area on the jack (the round area you shove your heel in) is covered with suede or a thick leather type fabric, you shouldn't have an issue with any marring or scuffing.  Two, make VERY sure the jack is the right size for your foot - Too big and it won't do a damn thing to help you get the boot off, too small and you'll do what I did and snap the side right off, and again, it won't do a damn thing - either one you'll end up holding onto something for dear life while someone pulls your boot off and you hope they don't remove your leg with it.  (Hence why I made my own - I snapped two and was like "I have woodworking tools, why the hell am I paying for this crap?)

When I get my table saw working again (or replace it), I may post up an interest thread for jacks - I've already noticed some improvements I could make to mine, but it's serviceable and does the job. :)

Anyone have any thoughts on what CPS is selling? If any part of it's decent it's certainly a good price:

    http://cosplaysky.com/rogue-one-a-star-wars-story-top-director-krennic-officer-uniform-cosplay-costume.html

Update: Is that really a rank bar 'decal' on the tunic? Yikes!

That....  That is garbage.  Just walk away.

Order the Black officer, search for "color change" (It's like Color/Fabric change or something), request the fabric for the TUNIC ONLY be changed to the White Gaberdine used in their Thrawn Costume (I linked to it to ensure no confusion) - it's $20ish more, but you won't end up with a black top and having to argue with them.

Follow the instructions in the Cosplay Sky thread on custom measurements.

I will say, when I have another one done, I'm going to ask them to move up the code cylinder pockets 2 inches (5.1 cm/51 mm), and because of the size of a) my neck and b ) the collar of the cloak if you put the correct spacing in for the ribbing (which ends up being between 2-2.5 inches tall, with 1/4 to 3/8 in spacing between the ribs) I would have them make the collar taller - YMMV.

  15.

    (Krennic/Rogue One on the left)

I'll be offering R1 belts shortly and the straps will come with the grooves as standard, being ROTJ belts with a different greeb basically.

As I said, I am just waiting for the VD to confirm - I am in no way saying you're wrong, but that as I dumped so much into this already, I wanted to make sure before I purchase. Same with Philo's cylinders - we've made the gun 3 times in 3D modeling, and while we feel fairly certain the Battlefront image is accurate, again, waiting for the VD before I pay someone to print it

  16. All good to know! It may be somewhere in this topic already, but have we identified a good maker for the tunic and cape yet? My current uniform is cosplaysky, but I don't know if this custom item would be something they would do.

I went CPS with tunic, if you want instructions for pm me - cloak I worked with a local tailor to craft

  17. Belt with a different grebel, not too bad. But why did the boots have to be different!? That's where the money's at in my current uniform! Perhaps a buckle can somehow be added to my current boots...

While the boots are different, requiring the "correct" ones won't be at level 1. So your boots are most likely fine.

His boots in question are WW2 German Officer Marching Boots - of which we have found one maker.

Belt is a standard belt with a ridge on either side - again, standard belt will work for level 1, we have never required the ridges or exposed edges for level 1, and I don't see BJ making a special exception for this one costume. We believe the greeble is different, but I'm not on board with that until the VD, because it could have simply been a lighting decoy.

Gloves, as we said earlier - the ones I have seem to be fine for now, probably going to have to get someone like IB or WW to start making them before we require screen accurate ones, because they don't seem to exist.
