DUDE!  You went from a 2XL to a medium and you lost "some" weight?  That's bloody amazing!

I would say you should just buy a new one - you alter that 2xl enough to fit you and it probably wouldn't pass CRL anymore.

We discussed that early on. It'll say white, because while the tunic and cape appear different hues, nailing the exact color is difficult when every picture is under different lighting.

Admins, if I picked the wrong area, please feel free to move this to the correct one.

I had started this when the Rogue One trailer premiered, and have gotten more since both the EW photo shoot and SWCE3 where the costume was on display, as well as Ben Mendelsohn wearing it in the Rogue One panel.  I figure putting it on hear starts the process of anyone who saw something different.

For reference photos, until my photog guy comes back with better, I am going on the following album for closeups, as she did an excellent job:

    Hair and Facial Features
    For 501st approval:
Hair must be medium-dark brown with slightly graying For level two certification (if applicable):
Facial appearance and hair match very closely to that of Ben Mendelsohn in Rogue One Tunic, White
    For 501st approval:

Collar edges are closed with two eye hooks. There are code cylinder pockets on both outside panels of the jacket from about half way between the top and bottom on the arm hole. Sleeves are long, and without decoration, cuffs or buttons. Sleeves contain 2 seams. One along the bottom and one along the back. Tunic is constructed with no top-stitching (stitches visible on the exterior surface of fabric) Hook and eye fasteners on the uniform should not be visible. Krennic's Rank Bar
    For 501st approval:
See the Imperial Rank Bar page for more information. Worn on the left side of the tunic over the heart. Rank consists of colored plastic tiles mounted on metal bar. I know we'd moved off of this, but I believe this may be a younger Director Krennic. (My other thought was that it may be Galen Erso, but that's one theory too far for the moment). He looks to be wearing the same type of gun from what I can tell with the outline, and he's also got a dosimeter in his right pocket. Unless they've decided to change the ISB tunics to the style of the others, Krennic is the only one with a 'normal' tunic. I'm also curious as to what the sloped 'v' shape on top of his tunic is for - to me it looks to be part of the cape. Please, lucasfilm, just give us a trailer already!

Think Geek is where we all got our Vader umbrellas.  Unfortunately, they've been sold out for quite sometime.  Try ebay.  Being from Denver, half our troops are in "inclement weather".  We're used to it.  Sometimes we'll put snow cleats on our boots.  Unless I-25 or I-70 is shut down where we can't get to a troop, we troop!  LOL  And yeah, sometimes our garrison CS will make the decision to cancel a troop if the weather is super bad (usually when we see every school being closed scrolling at the bottom of our TVs).  Our garrison policy is to troop if you can, and if you don't feel comfortable then let us know your backing out.  It's a hobby after all, you choose the troops you want to do (unless they've been cancelled), whatever the weather.

Tough Gloves is the brand I was looking at, as well. Depending on how much of the wrist you need covered, they have a couple different styles. Do you mind taking a photo of how well the gloves cover your hands, and fit under the sleeve of your uniform tunic? I've been wondering how noticeable the gap between the wrist of the gloves and the cuff of the sleeves is with that style.

The other style without points is the Marksman-X.  http://www.leatherglovesonline.com/np/MensGloves-ByPrice-50-75-td215-ultra-thin-marksman-x-cabretta-gloves.htm#page=details

I have ordered a pair of those last week they should arrive soon if FedEx is willing to move their posteriors . According to the review they are worth every penny but tend to come in small sizes , i will thus review them myself as i will be using them both for my Krennic costume and as replacements for my OT Admiral as well
I wasn't originally going to spend 50$ on a pair of gloves but it seems those were the only good quality gloves i could find that had sizes 7 and 8 , so ...

Agreed on hat, optional based on what we have for now. If that is him in the field.. ..I only see red rank bar, (am I missing the blue one?) and it makes me wonder if it's someone else? (Admittedly someone in almost same costume leading death troopers with same blaster rig seems unlikely, but...)
For short cape, man, I don't know. I guess all three (hat, rank, cape) will make a big step forward in solving when we can be sure it is Krennic. Or (for me) when I get some sorely-needed glasses.
I went hardcore spoiler-free on TFA, and now for RO I can't find enough, ha!

    Hey James,

IMHO, knee-high, yes.   Here are some video grabs:

    - Celebration Reel (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUb_zpdyDpU), shot starting at 1:05.  The difference between the polished boot and matte breeches can be seen clearly.

(For what it's worth, the reel's shot at 2:11 is not particularly helpful, nor is the 'hat' shot at 2:18 mentioned earlier.)

    - In the teaser trailer at 1:17 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wji-BZ0oCwg), in the shot of him walking through the water, the difference between the boot and breeches can also be seen:

Best shots so far are from the Celebration's cast panel, where Mendelsohn appeared in costume (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SI6yT344SRw) and was stepping up the stairs:

Oh, and I think it's only about 2 inches down from the join. For reference, the stitching on the joins is IMO three lines, 1/4" apart each, so about half an inch at the widest.
Remember this is hugely zoomed in. I literally used my telescopic lens that I used to get photos from the back of the auditorium in panels.

Looking at the fourth panel, that's detail I hadn't caught before.  So the slit goes up to about crotch level, but there's a joint in it what looks like about 3-4 inches lower - most likely to keep it from ripping the seam open by flapping.
    Thank you

Hi, I was the photographer in that. It was not the same as the one he wore on stage, HOWEVER I will say that the lighting in the Rogue One panel room was exceptionally harsh. Really really bright white light. It would wash out anything that wasn't heavily coloured. So while it looked a lot lighter, it wasn't as light as some people think.

Looking at it myself, I felt like the costume we saw was not pure white, but more of a really really light grey. Like dove grey. Not off white (which has the yellowy/gold undertones) but a blue undertoned grey.

Also, the display one definitely had a slit in the back. You had to go hunting for it, but this is 4 pictures that I put together of the same place on the cape from different angles where you can clearly see the opening of the slit.

Hi, I'm the photographer who took that.

These are slits set into the cape. They looked functional to me, but I couldn't actually see through them. However if you notice the panel behind the slit changes size, meaning its likely the fabric was pulling slightly apart, meaning the slits are functional.

These slits are actually very common in 19th Century attire. They are essentially openings with a placket behind them so that drafts don't go through. It allows you to put your arms through the cape if you want to. My guess is that Krennic doesn't bother, but the option was given to them. Also, because its all the same material, I would surprised if you can see them easily.

I would also recommend against assuming what he wore at the Rogue One panel did not have these as that lighting was so harsh it changed the colour of his hair, the clothes, and would have made any imagery coming out of it blend the slits out of existence.

    Hi there,

Not to throw too much of a spanner into the works, BUT...

I don't think its white. At least not pure white. Having seen it in the flesh, I felt it was actually a really really light grey. I know a lot of designers shy away from full on white because it can cause whiteouts on camera, and that combined with what I saw makes me think its not pure white.

I wouldn't say off white/cream as I feel it doesn't have the yellowy/gold undertones that you see in off white. It has very definitely blue undertones to it. I don't think this was just the effect of the lighting, as the same lighting was on his costume as the main characters, which were very definitely in the brown/cream spectrum.

Edited to add: I'm glad you like my photos!
