Dimentex reacted to Centauri in Grand Admiral Thrawn (Rebels)
Nah , we still have our good old Thrawn , the Legacy Officers , both Isard ...
The only Officer we miss ( technically ) is Veers . But being ACD as well , i don't quite see it as an issue

Dimentex reacted to Centauri in Grand Admiral Thrawn (Rebels)
No way we give Legend Thrawn to the Flagship Eclipse , he stays ours
You might be right though James , it's probably a better thing to write a whole new CRL . We can partly base it on the current Kallus CRL except ask for a white tunic instead obviously . The rest will probably remain fairly similar to the regular Thrawn .

Dimentex reacted to Centauri in Director Krennic CRL Discussion
Mwell , we should either make it an optional requirement , or ask it straight away even for L1 , no in-betweenish requirement
It will take some dedication to make Krennic if we ask that ... Luckily i'm full of dedication

Dimentex reacted to Centauri in Director Krennic CRL Discussion
Same here , i was harassing them every morning the get on the podium to take a closer look with my friend's camera , no luck . Also tried to get closer when they were about to remove the glasses , but it was a no-no . I guess that if the slightest problem would've happened with the costumes the peoples responsible for them would've ended up in big troubles , so they didn't seemed very keen on taking any kind of risk :/
Regarding the CRL , here are my suggestions :
For the boots , since the CRL for the OT Officers mentions people can be validated L1 with PVC and leather like materials with zipper , we could be indulgent and allow OT-style boots for L1 as well . Maybe allow them for L2 as well if the owner sews the back flap to them with the small buckle in the back , but for L3 we would have to expect perfect replicas of German Officers boots .
For the hair i have mixed feelings . I assume his rank is unique , like it is for both Isard , so it would make sense that if you go for Krennic's costume it's him that you portray and not some random person with a random hair colour ... But i have a bad feeling about asking people to get their hair dyed the right colour , as it is somewhat in between brown and grey , and that short wigs tend to be very ugly unless they are professionally made and applied . But maybe we could put that into the " optional requirements " . It all depends on whether we create a CRL for " Rogue One Director of Intelligence ( generic ) or Krennic specifically ...
Snap on the belt is worn on the right of the wearer , watch out for that one His snap is on his blaster side , opposite of his rank , unlike OT Officers .
Here is Mr. Fabulous at the Rogue One panel .
I doubt he was wearing the same uniform he used in the movies since the screen-used ones were indeed at the Rogue One Costume booth . Maybe there were a few ones made for him ( in case it got dirty ) , or a stunt one(s) .

Dimentex reacted to Hask in Director Krennic CRL Discussion
Yes I'm talking in the past we have had officer uniforms with wrong boots and even side arms at official displays claiming screen used the slit I refer to is the opening at the back but now you mention it is could not see the weird side thing when he wore it at the panel either and as I said it looked a lot lighter and I mean in weight

Dimentex reacted to Hask in Director Krennic CRL Discussion
I would not write off riding boots yet as the ones he wore in the panel did not look like the ones on display the cape also looked different

Dimentex reacted to fil5117 in Hat visor sizing question?
I have discussed the same issue with a couple of fan made cap suppliers, and come to a common ground with one of the UK suppliers.
There is a little variance in the cap peaks we see in the films, but on the whole I agree with you. My rule of thumb was the visor is just over half the height of the crown.
I think the main 'problem' stems from there being a pattern in the public domain and people have used this verbatim. Another problem is that caps are pretty tough to make in the first place. Getting anything half decent is a major achievement. I would like to see more accurate caps, especially the stitching on the visor, the gap between the concentric stitching can be a little too wide.
I have worked to help make improvements to the uniforms and helped raise the standards of the costumes produced, but don't have the time to do everything. I have found if you champion a cause, provide a convincing argument, produce an example, do it well people will follow your lead. This has been on my to do list, but other tasks have taken priority. If you could pick up the baton and approach one of the common cap suppliers who's cap is a 'little off' and work with them to improve the accuracy that'd be great.

Dimentex reacted to BensID39999 in 5 TROOPS IN 5 DAYS!!!
FIVE TROOPS IN FIVE DAYS
Hello Officers, Crew, and Troopers! My name is Biscuit, ID-39999, of the Central California Garrison and the IOC Morale Officer. I want to share a journey with you, to raise my spirits and hopefully show the power of what we do. Two weeks after retiring, my Mom, Dawn Salisbury, was informed that she had irreversible colon cancer. After a year of suffering, she died on May 1st, 2011, five years ago. We also recently lost a comrade, John Salles, a police officer, Iraq war veteran, and sci-fi fanatic. I decided that I would try to honor them both with 5 troops in 5 straight days, centered around the 5th anniversary of my Mom's passing and John's funeral. I am about to attend troop 4 this morning, so I will update this afternoon. As a thank you to you all, every single troop i'm in an Officer uniform of some type. Please save comment after i have posted troop 5 OF 5. Thank you for joining me, my sci-fi fantasy family!

Dimentex reacted to Hask in Fabric Check
Well if it turns out a nice fabric id say go for doing a new tunic/pants too

Dimentex got a reaction from Hask in Fabric Check
Black I hope so, if not I'll be ordering enough to redo the jacket and pants too.
Olive I haven't done yet, so when I do it I'll get enough to make it all match. The Ivory is for the jacket for the new guy (ISB/whatever) from Rogue One - gonna wait until we get some more shots to make sure on cut and color before I invest money for that one.

Dimentex reacted to Hask in Fabric Check
Looks good to me but as its for level 3 will it match the rest of your costume?

Dimentex reacted to SmilingFox in Reactions from Co-workers
I am a police officer so there is no end to the ribbing I take. However, when they tease me, I look them dead in the eyes and say, "Yes, I dress up as a Star Wars character and make sick kids feel better for a little while."
There is no retort for that. They just wander off and leave me smiling.
Just own it. Never let anyone think you are ashamed. All my co-workers have heard me talk about my endless collection of Star Wars collectibles and Lego sets. I proudly declare my fandom.

Dimentex reacted to MyKill in Tentatively hoping I've cracked the jack boot equation!
It's so close I can almost taste it.
Vlatislav is a very prompt responder, he got back to me within 24hrs, he can make the boots...
HE CAN MAKE THE BOOTS!!!
We're talking just like the CRL Jack boot. top strap, orthotic insole room, wood pegged, heel & toe iron having Knobelbechers - big clompy romper stompers!!!
Now, they're a little pricier than his standard m39's but theyre about the same as decent riding boots, so I can live with that price for boots I'll wear forever!
While I'm excited, I'm not going to get overexcited - I've learned from my experience with turdbert, err I mean trabert.
I know this post is only really for me. But if any other Imperial squatches want accurate boots - they may exist (provided dropping 600 USD appeals to you).
I'll keep you posted for no reason other than it will stop me telling random people in the street!

Dimentex reacted to edgejedi in Reactions from Co-workers
To put an end to it at my workplace I wore my TK to do a half marathon run for charity, supported by the company. I kitted up in the disabled toilet... to a big reveal! Everyone THEN wanted photos... even the Chief Executive holding my blaster! People now understand, especially as they saw the pinch marks on my skin after the run... in full kit. When TFA was out a lot of people genuinely asked where I was heading and which charities I was supporting so I guess now they understand the connection....

Dimentex got a reaction from MyKill in Reactions from Co-workers
That was pretty much the reaction at my work.
"So you play dress up?"
To raise money for charity and cheer up kids, yes.
"Oh... well... ok."
