I just took some screenshot from the movie:

    1. There is a guy with two codecylinders in the right pocket and only one in the left. If I remember correct, with an uneven amount of cylinders, the cylinders majority was placed to the left, not on the right. Correct?

    2. Here we have some stills from Dryden Vos' party showing there were even some officers in the regular outfit, with jodhpur-breeches and riding-boots:

    3. And at last, to stick to the original topic here, there are the shots of the straight-legged-uniform:

Especially the last picture reminds me to the look of Galen Erso dressed up as the science officer in the Rogue One Visual Disctionary:

Hey luvs! I just wanted to make sure everyone knows I'm still watching.. I wanted to bring up some of the concerns as I see some slightly heated debate starting.

The issue is (and I tend to agree) is that the reference is really blurry.

Now normally we could all say "Oh we can assume" (and I do say that a lot) however of all the Detachments I oversee (5 of them) This Detachment has had the biggest "blunders and blowouts" when it came to costumes that weren't accurate and the literal fallout from it. So please understand here that the main driving force for it being stalled is not about the costume being lazy, sloppy or otherwise. Its fear that we are wrong ...again.
Its hard to admit we are wrong and we have learned from past mistakes.

Example 1: We were pressured by membership to approve the First Order General with little to no (blurry) reference.
Blunder! The CRL is now gone and people are losing money on costumes they paid for and now cant have approved. I just had a guy post last week on the CRL thread. :/ That kills me inside.

Example 2: We allowed a costume accessory with little to no ref and BOOM! The entire world busted in half.

Those incidents were just in the last year....

I am extra cautious with this Detachment (and so is the staff) for good reason. Things get heated. So please do not see their less than approving stance as anything but concern for what could happen later. <3 You guys are great and this conversation should continue.
Anyone tried taking new/better screenshots from the film yet?

Shoes are a big factor, anyone see a good shot of them?

@Steven Nice work,! Makes me think about grabbing some more from Antjes fabric to do both variants of the pants.

I'd personally like to see it become it's own CRL as there are  at least three clearly  visible differences, four if the lack of gloves.
That's the exact amount of differences between the Line officer and the Grandmoff Tarkin CRL and nobody would suggest to make him a variant.

I'm just afraid that the low boots, straight trousered, no hat option is going to lead to a bunch of sloppy(?) looking officers.
Especially for Staff officers, who are gonna look from behind like they're just wearing a black suit.
I now move that the  Science Officer CRL be changed to "Off Duty Officer" and that it have two configurations: Line and Staff.
And the rank bar worn with this new CRL will have to be one that is seen on screen in conjunction with that uniform.
That gives two people a chance to be CRL models. One on each tab. Bonus!

Don't know why not, if we have an ANH ISB and R1 in the same CRL with the tab system. But it was just a digression, it was not my intention to pose it formally as a possible change.

@Hux, I really appreciate your positive comments and the arguments that accompany your decisions, it really helps to look for ways and solutions to get things out ahead of a simple 'no'. For novices like me it helps a lot to understand veterans opinions.

"see anything clearer" as in see anything different then what's been said/listed above?
Nope. But I might be blinded by the fact I want this costume to happen (it's a guarantee to get more IOC members!)
I'm ready to retake the photos for the green suit with a 6 red rank bar if we're ready to move forward.

Aye it's absolutely a fair assumption

But now that the movie is out maybe we can double check before proceeding

This one I think most the detachment is happy with proceeding on. We have had a few Solo costumes held up because we wanted to wait for the movie in both legions ^.-

so, anyone see anything clearer at this point?

thanks for the tips, we are already working on the changes not before September we will not have finished everything, because in Italy August is a month of holidays.
for the cloth we used, it's the original quelka because the TFA costume designers bought it here in my city of Prato, in Tuscany, the world capital of fabrics.

Seems like all the FO enlisted personnel wear some variation of this uniform. Very nice to see this.

Looks great!! I'm scanning this and what I spot right off the bat is the missing comm unit and the pants look a bit off reference.  I know some others have some pictures here they have as reference. But id say that comm unit needs to be added. If they were seen without it I would be ok with optional.

The pants are probably correct but these need tailoring to fit the wearer and look like the reference.

No worries! Sounds good, Rebels Style Officer w/emblem option it is.  That's my new CRL proposal then, the same but different title, haha

Love this cant wait to see the progress. A few of the other LMOS looked and I gave some back info, they caution against using Pryce anymore than in seam comparison. We see a fair bit of color difference ^.^ Maybe do some color pulls?
Also youll want to use the rebel rank bar and such for it. All cartoony! Huzzah! You are on the right track!

    Hello
I’d like to propose a CRL for a Rebels Style Officer and the seventh fleet emblem will just be added as an optional accessory. It was recommended by the LMO to use the Pryce CRL for tunic, pants, belt, boots, rank bar (but different rank of course—(most likely lieutenant since that is shown in the picture), and code cylinders. Added would be an Officer’s hat in the same color and material as tunic and pants, but with greeblie that is Rebels style (same as belt), black leather gloves, and of course the Seventh Fleet emblem on the left arm (this would be an optional accessory) Gloves I have, patches are being made in both 4 inch and 3.5 inch. I was wondering which size would be best? I was thinking the 3.5 inch because that is the size of the emblems on TIE pilot shoulders, but curious what other think. And how far below the shoulder seam? 1 o 2 inches? Looking at the uniform Ezra is wearing in the pictures it seems like 2, the pictures below are what I am using for a source for costume, and any suggestions welcome! Thank you!

Some extra references from TLJ visual dictionary:

Actually, the suit looks equals to the new gunner and shuttle pilot:

If possible, the wide hook and eye closures should be used for the front closure, rather than snaps or the "bra strap" style hook and eye closures which have been used here.
In the visual dictionary images of Chief Petty Officer Unamo, you can slightly see the same metal closures used on Hux and Mitaka, just visible in the opening of her jacket.
Thankfully these are easy to source and should be a case of replacing with the closures already there. In Europe they are wide hook and eye closures sold by Prym, I believe. In the USA, they are the same, but sold by Dritz.

I'm going to agree with Dawn and Morti the pants are too baggy and don't have the correct shape, I also feel the collar is too loose, it would also be easier if you can to post the pictures direct to the forum

I'm currently looking into sourcing the headsets used for TFA. They all use the same one, there are a lot of them, and they do not look fabricated for the movie. They have to exist somewhere! I'll share what I find out.

Unfortunately all scenes featuring petty officers within TFA, which is the uniform type and style specified, have this headset in place. I'd imagine that this would need to be a non-optional accessory. Hopefully it will be a non-issue once a source for the headsets can be found!

At least there are no gloves, boots or hat to deal with!

I agree with Dawn in that the fit of the pants looks very strange. They would need to fit in the way you can see in the visual dictionary, which gives two good front-facing references of this uniform. There are minimal wrinkles and folds, unavoidable with this sort of fabric with a sheen, however they are straight-leg and smooth at front and sides. Photos showing the side flaps of the pants and the front pintuck from the upper thigh down to beneath the top of the boot would need to be provided also.

    Hey there!
The costume looks very nice and well made, good job there.

Would you mind providing references of the character as well so we are able to compare and advise a little easier?

    Thank you!!
