Good catch, and good that they sold at lower price. The large MR should probably fit you. I typically would wear a 7 1/2" or XL hat and the large fits me with room to spare as well, especially after a haircut where I normally shear my head. When my hair is grown out a bit it fits more snug but not tight.

Here is my completed blaster. I basically followed your thread when working. Thanks!

Going to be a snob here but has everyone forgot what the O in IOC means? yes we have crewman as they crew the bridges of ships but lowly ground crew no sorry
Maybe what we need is a new detachment of Imperial Enlisted Corps.
Bridge Crew, Scanning Crew, Maintenance Crew, Ground Crew, Navy Troopers, etc.

Found one at Amazon as well for $28 including tax. Plan to use this thread to help guide me. Thanks!

As long as they are comfortable and "look the part", they should be good for basic approval (that is the purpose of the tier system, isn't it? ). However, I would be genuinely curious to see how they (and your feet/legs) hold up after a long troop though as rubber doesn't breathe or stretch like leather. Being a big guy with big feet/calves and on a modest budget, I'm always looking for alternatives.

Congrats!

Most military would mean having your hair set above your collar in a bun or braid, depending how long your hair is. Whatever you do, you will want to keep that in mind when ordering (or making) your hat how it will effect the size you will need.

The second one from the right looks like the closest match to me, but I don't have that costume.

I don't think they expected a lot of firefights on the bridge of Star Destroyers.
If you are already getting the gloves and compad, then you can wear and carry one as a Reserve Pilot. If you want to represent the IOC and make it official, just remove the blaster and holster.
One of the best things about the black jump suit is its versatility in costumes. You can represent three different detachments in a matter of minutes.

Yes, they were on the shelf and ready...both Olive and Black. There are no markings on them whatsoever, aside of the Disney pricetag. When the Cast Members said they were Anovos, I figured they were the standard line. Disney does sell other Officer hats, not in the Launchbay, and those are not approvable. The Launchbay hats have been widely posted around the forums as acceptable, and mine was approved (I do have a RunyaJade on order however). But as I said, I had to go through about 3 or so hats, to find one that the greeblie was centered properly.
My hat
I've seen others say that this hat resembles the Museum Replicas, so I imagine that is a possible source for these particular hats.
Kat, you did nail the presentation on the head, as I echoed much of your descriptions there to my wife when we were looking at them. Some of those costumes looked disheveled. I noted that the Stormtrooper's armor wasn't even velcroed nicely, looked like a 5 year old dressed 'em. LOL.
They are probably just a massed produced version made at the same place a lot of their souvenir clothing is made. Museum Replicas is much better quality and had the license prior to Anovos. Anovos hats will probably have an Anovos tag, Star Wars product tag, or both.
I am shaky about buying anything Anovos myself.

Awesome, Ben!

It will be my first Celebration as well. Also already booked a room.
If anyone is planning to go or even if it's a possibility, I would suggest booking a room now as they will probably fill up fast (It's Orlando during a school break when it's not oppressively hot ). Most hotels will let you cancel without spending a dime as little as a day prior to your reservation in case you don't end up going or you can probably transfer the reservation another member.

Word of advice if you use E6000 make sure its a well ventilated room
^^^This. Good advice for most adhesives used in costume building, but E6000 really reeks.

Ok thanks for the input.
I was wondering about the boots, but I saw a crewman before me get approved with similar boots so I thought they would be OK.
I'm probably not going be getting new boots though. It was hard enough to find those in a size 13.
That would probably be me. I did get approved with similar boots (Engineer/Biker), but if his aren't approvable then I don't really feel comfortable keeping the Imperator status for having the same thing he was turned down for.

It probably wouldn't stretch much, although you want it to have a pretty tight fit. If it doesn't fit, you could probably resell it pretty quickly on here for what you paid for it.

The fist of doom as seen in my profile pic.
Does Ryno have to backslap some Rebel Scum?!?

I'm putting together some information for an info graphic on how much various costume builds cost and how much time they take. I find my self fielding a lot of questions about how much various costumes cost how long they take, or what the cheapest to build is etc.
Specifically if you can give me info on rough cost/time for
Staff officer- $500-$1500
Bridge crew- $300-$500
mechanical crew- $400-$500
scanning crew- $300- $500
Navy Trooper- $450-$600
Just looking for basic costs for approval not higher tiers
Thank you for your help!
The added red text is my base price best rough guestimate. Keep in mind that if you start with say, a Bridge Crew, then you have most of the base for a Navy Trooper and just need the helmet and a commpad if you didn't already order one so it wouldn't be as expensive to build for that costume than if you started from scratch.
The variance in price is dependant on optionals you may get, the vendor you use, the quality of the costume, boots, etc. and don't really take into account anything that you can perhaps source and make yourself.
EDIT: Also just another heads up, the gray and black flightsuits are compatible with other costume builds (black- Bridge Crew, TIE Pilot, TIE Reserve, Imperial Gunner, Navy Trooper; Gray- Scan Crew, AT-ST driver, AT-AT driver). The blue one for the mechanical crew is not compatible with any other costume (at the moment), so that's another thought to ponder for the budget conscious costumer who wants the most bang for the buck.

Interesting, although his costume is probably more inline with The Flagship Eclipse Detachment than IOC. As for his difference in appearance, that was probably due to various artists/authors depiction.

Yup, order a size up. My sleeves are long, but I almost always wear the gloves. I can get them hemmed up if they really become a bother, but so far I'm okay with it as is.

I think they were sold in the parks and Downtown Disney only. I think for a minute they were available in the online store, which was probably the liquidation of their remaining stock, but they are no longer there either. All that's left is eBay and such it looks like.

Anyone else from Melbourne Australia here?

Hi Seth!
Not from Melbourne (or Australia for that matter), but you can try to hit them up (if they don't answer here) on the Terror Australias Garrison website; http://501tag.com/. You may have to register before you can post, but go ahead and do so. Most Garrison websites have a welcome forum for potential recruits to introduce themselves and ask questions. You might even be able to meet up with them at a troop and see their costumes up close!
In the meantime, people here can help you with any questions as well, especially involving Imperial Officer costumes.
