It's kind of tricky shrinking the collar up that much. I will say a way that may help you is something I have done before. Makes your collar look sharper and kind of snugs it up a bit. I took out the seam on the top of the collar. Then cut a thick piece of interfacing the size and shape of the collar. Stick the interfacing in the collar pocket and sew the collar back up. It'll give it a crisper more rigid look that you won't need to keep starching or ironing, and it will make it a little more snug on you. Hopefully you'll get it fixed up. Good luck.

Do you have a pic of you wearing it to show how loose it is? Post it and that'll be the best way for people to see if there is a fix to your problem. Thanks.

Just to clarify, you are saying the collar is too big and you want to shrink it up?

Bailey,
Unfortunately there is a bit of a language barrier when it comes to CPS. They should being doing a seam around the waist anyways. Also, even if they took 2cm out of the flaps, they still will need work. They will probably still need reshaping and stiffening. You would be better off just taking it to be reshaped, or maybe you know how to sew. Noone gets finished flaps straight from CPS, regardless of the instructions givin. Good luck with your build! Let us know if you have any other questions.

Pretty much but it's made for this and sticks on with just ironing.

Hi so just curious how did you get the jodhpur flares to stay out like that
Sent from my SM-G950U usingI used Heat and Bond interfacing on the inside. It can be found at Walmart or any craft place. I used medium weight. Just cut to shape and run over it with an iron. Works great! Did the same with the collar to keep it crisp. Sewed it inside the collar, did not iron.

Thank you for the understanding my friend, Whilst I can see the flares are symmetrical I will need to see it all worn
Here's an update:
Took the tunic to my seamstress. She took out a bit of the collar, tacked the collar down to stay in place without tugging, and added a snap on the modesty panel.
I took some quick photos before work. Unfortunately still not 100% happy with the collar. I feel like it could still be improved. I contacted CPS about possibly ordering some extra fabric and the seamstress may try redoing my collar to be perfect. Until then I will withdraw my request till it is worthy of acknowledgement. Thanks you for your time and help!

Hi Matt, overall a good submission however as this is for Imperator two things stood out that id like to see corrected, the collar in the pics appears to not be closing fully and the flare on the left leg seems higher than the right, If you can take a look at these and get back to us please, still love that rank bar
Kris,
I took some clearer pics showing the flaps are the same shape, size, and location. When reshaping them we just folded it over and traced the shape on the other side. I know it wasn't that clear from the original picture, so glad to try to help clear that up.
I hope these help, let me know if you'll need anything else.
As far as the collar goes, I can get it to close completly, but I think it could be better. I'm going to visit my seamstress today to experiment with a couple ideas to make it look better.
I look forward to an improved collar, and ill attach some photos when it is complete. Thanks for the inspiration.

Don't worry you can make it. Some of these take time, and they should, to be accurate. Be patient, I just don't want you to mistake someone's passion for stubbornness. Everyone here is volunteering their guidance and help, and many have spent hundreds of hours researching and studying. So anyone willing to take the time to help is a beneficial tool to help you. So try not to get defensive. Everyone has been through the same thing. Good luck on your build, you'll be there soon.

Kris,
Thank you for your consideration.
I will take some closer photos to help disprove the inaccuracies and post them tonight. Thank you for your time and guidance!

Nick,
Hate to be the person to give you the bad news but the t shirt and the racing shirt were the last two months merch. Racing shirts ended 3 days ago. They will come back around again. You can always check your local garrison or the 501st merch areas, maybe you'll get lucky.

Congratulations! Welcome to the 501st!

Peter,
Just food for thought. When making your hole don't make your belt too tight. This will bunch your tunic and give it a sloppy look. Rather make it just tight enough to comfortably go around your tunic without squeezing. You can add velcro on your tunic and the inside of your belt to keep it up and in place. This will look sharp. Have fun!

I think you two are not talking about the same tunic. If I understand Jeff correctly he would like to use one tunic for both Grand Admiral and ISB R1 by using magnets to connect the epaulets to the tunic. Since both uniforms basically use the same tunic that should be possible.
Matt you are talking about the ISB ANH tunic while Jeff is talking about the ISB R1.
Yes Patricia, thanks for the clarification. The ANH ISB and the Grand Admiral are not interchangeble. A little confusion since he never distinguished.
Matt

PS:
In ANH they borrowed old fireman costumes from a 1966 movie Ferenheit 451. That is where we got the straight accross closure.
It wasn't until the second movie, The Empire Strikes Back, where the crew started sourcing their own costumes and we got the over the shoulder closure on the tunics.
This is why we have two different style tunics. Just for some back story.
Matt
-
Jeff,
Unfortunatly they are not interchangeable. The ISB tunic is more like the ANH Staff tunic where the closure goes straight accross. The Grand Admiral tunics closure goes over the shoulder and ends at the shoulder seam. Love your creativity but unfortunately they have two different style tunics. Let us know if you have any other questions. Good luck.

Nick,
You are well on your way. Boots are the hardest, so it's all down hill from here.

My pleasure. Don't hesitate to ask more questions. Its a bit confusing at first but everyone is here to help.

Hey Nick,
You'll want to go here:
https://www.501st.com/members/displayUnits.php
Find your garrison and then find your "GML" for your area. He/she will have an email for you to contact them. Introduce yourself and let them know your interest. That will be the person to send your photos to.
Once they review your photos, they will either approve it, or give you some areas to improve. After aproval, they will help you wrap up the process, and you'll have to submit multiple ID numbers to see what is available.
Let us know if you have any questions. Matt

Unfortunately I would not add any more additional seams. If it were covered by something you may be able to get away with it. But additional viable seams would not be suggested. Sorry about the difficulty, as you may know sometimes accuracy takes time.
