Hannah,
Well they have two extra seams on them so I would keep looking.
Hessen Antiques are 25% off right now. Or you can try Soviet Boots for about $100. Do there are some better options out there. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Wow must be worth quit a few pounds!

Nice! I have a bunch of Black Series but nothing that serious. Very cool!

Brent,
Looks like a pair of Soviet boots. Those are used by some members here and are approvable up to Executor. Only thing keeping them from Imperator is that they aren't "English style" and arnt stiff. However, they are nice quality full leather and will last you a while.
Good luck!

All,
Will these get approval to level 2 for an IC impression? I ask because the back is somewhat funky. Thanks!
Clayton,
Which boots are you talking about? There are a few different jack boots on their website. Remember the only additional requirement for level 2 is that they be made of leather.
Maybe post a pic or a link to the specific boots you are referring to.

Goob,
Looks like you're all set. If you don't hear back from Carol consider making your own. The push button style looks a little nicer too. Have fun!

Tiggie is taking rank bar orders again.
Great news! So there's an option if you would like a plexiglass version.
-
Dean,
Try one of these:
As far as the rank bars go a couple of our suppliers on here are takeing time off for personal reasons.
If you would like you can try making your own rank bar and I can point you in the right directions and help you through it. Making a great rank bar isn't as hard as you may think.
Let me know what you need.

Dean,
Unless you're talking about boots or MUR items I'd be weary of Ebay. Have you tried emailing Gina Canady at runyajade@gmail.com? She makes some great hats. Also, if you have access to or know anyone who has access to Disneyworld/Land, they sell approvable hays over at their Launchbay.
Good luck! Let us know what items you need help with and we can help you out.

I found this YouTube video that compares 8 of the most popular leather finishes did by side.
He did seem to prefer the Resolene at the end.

Try resolene Matt
Thanks Kris! I'm going to Google that now.

Hello all!
So I've received another belt from a different supplier this time. I have alot of access dye on this one that I did not have to deal with on the last one.
I've been rubbing off some of the access dye with a soft cloth but it's starting to rub raw and the dye keeps coming. I can lightly run my fingers down it and still end up with black fingers.
I've been contiplating using a wax based sealer or a weather proofing product, and I've looked into Tandy leather sealer. I was wondering if anybody has any tips or suggestions to keep dye off my Line officer Tunic.
Like always, thank you all for your help and guidance!

I think myself based on those pics the Standard looks better even with the inaccuracies
I agree, I like the standard version. Hope they get all the bugs worked out.

Chuck,
Everyone has to follow the chain and get approved first, meet the requirements for executor, and then go to imperator. You are correct there are some special reqirements each piece must contain for different levels, but the higher levels are graded by the costume as a whole, and don't realy have "different areas."
If your end goal is to reach a higher level, then my suggestion to you is to find a character you would like to portray and model it after him/her. That way you buy all the appropriate versions of each accessory. IE: correct belt style or rank bar.
If you have the money or time now, go ahead and buy or find the appropriate boots for level 3 and then you won't have to buy another pair. The rest of the accessories will just have to follow your character.
RANK BAR
- Copy your characters rank bar
BELT
- Plain undied edges = ANH
- Plain belt = ESB
- Belt with grooves = ROTJ
TUNIC/JODHPURS
- Tailor them to fit you appropriately and fix the flaps as needed. IE: reshaping or stiffening
CODE CYLINDERS
- Match your characters style and amount
SPECIAL NOTE
- Look for any uniqueness or differences your character may have.
IE: - Extra holes in belt
- Holster/Blaster
- Gloves
Ofcourse there are exceptions and differences to these guidelines but just try to build your costume so people believe ypu could be in the movie.
If you have any questions let us know.
Good luck, and have fun!

Very cool find Kris!
Gotta love the right over left closure, the backwards belt, laced up boots, and short boots though.

Caleb,
When you get your costume in start a "WIP" and post a picture with you in your jodhpurs and we can walk you through any tailoring suggestions or improvements. It won't be to hard to get your Cosplaysky jodhpurs looking right.

Caleb,
Unfortunatly if there is a zipper it could only be concealed on the insides of the boot shafts, not on the back.
You're on the right track though, and good idea to find your boots first. The other accessories will come much easier.

Sealing Leather Belts
in Costume Questions - Ask Here!
Posted
Hey all,
Ok so here are some results:
I cut two pieces off the belt so I could try both options.
I aplied the Leather Sheen to one piece and the Resolene to the other.
The Leather Sheen goes on shiney, and with ease from the spray can.
The Resolene is aplied with a spunge and you have to be sure to do long swipes and apply it evenly. The end result when applying it leaves a milky color when wet. You are required to use a sponge or spray bottle to apply it.
