Hello,
Here is a link to the Costume Refrence List:
http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/1817-ioc-costume-resource-list/
There you will find links to aproved items for your build. (Note: you are not limited to, just guided by)
As far as what items you will need, it is all based on what costume you are trying to replicate.
My suggestion to you is to choose your costume or character and model your costume off of that. Then you'll know what you'll need.
That being said, most officers have:
- belt
- hat
- code cylinder/s
- tunic and jodhpurs
- rank bar/s
- boots
Optional:
- gloves
- belt boxes
- holster/blaster
Let us know what type of character you want to portray and we will help you with any and all information you need.
Good luck!

NER,
Are you only looking for the light up version? Because the non light up versions are more accurate and are better for L2+.

At that price I'd rather just seek out new. They may have fit me, but final price was about the same as Magnoli's.
I was thinking the same thing. I was watching them with interest back when it was at $40. But now you might as well go Todds costumes, Hessen Antiques, or Magnoli for same price.

Don't do that Bob, an officer isn't a handler, an officer is the dark spirit off our army! You are not so far from my power... )
Oops I think he picked the wrong detachment to say that in...

Mike,
I actualy have mine attached with the pin:
The neodinium magnets are rare earth magnets and can be bought in all sort of sizes and are very strong. You can buy a thin one to attach to your greeblie. The benifit is you will not have to puncture your hat with a pin. Here is an example: http://www.google.com/search?q=thin+rare+earth+magnets&prmd=sivn&source=lnms&tbm=shop&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjMzNiBr4jMAhWHlx4KHaMDC0IQ_AUIBygB&biw=360&bih=615&dpr=3#spd=8080088437692907364&spud=0
Just make sure you buy the right size.
Here is a picture of a magnet glued to a greeblie thanks to Kris (nocternus):
Good luck! Let us know if you have any questions.

I bought the pin backer from a craft store. They come in a bag and I glued the point half onto the back of the greeblie and just pushed it through and secured it with the pinch grasp half on the inside. You can use a neodinium magnet as well. I can take pics when I get home if you like.
Good luck!

Todds Costumes has a pretty cool looking boot bag that fits the tall officer boots:
...even has an extra pocket for hooks. Not bad for $14.95

Hi all,
I understand you would get many questions regarding boots, but I have found a pair that I cannot find a reference for on the site. Can you please have a look at these and let me know if you believe these boots would be acceptable for Staff Officer?
Jason,
It's hard to get more info without a link. But I did a quick Google search, and I believe those are made of rubber. So unfortunatly that would keep them from getting approved.
Good luck!

Apparently the story goes it's a "memento from another droids sacrafice."

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but we were at Hollywood Studios Launch Bay last week and I asked one of the sales staff about how long it would take to get an officer uniform. She said 6-8 weeks delivery, I kinda chuckled and said that's faster than from Anovos directly and she said they get first priority on all product shipments. So maybe they will meet a Q1 delivery time frame after all.
Don,
I was there last Sunday and asked an employee the same question. She said, "We will take your measurments, and it will be custom made. Then you will receive the uniform in six weeks." I just assumed she didn't know what she was talking about.

Ian,
I would say if your jacket and jodhpurs are Museum Replicas I would go with the MUR hat, that way the fabric will be an exact match. I know matching the fabric isn't that big of a deal with the staff officers but that's what I would like IMO. You got two great hats there.
Good luck!

Matt,
I think you misunderstood my post. I wasn't saying they don't work; in fact I was about a two clicks away from these myself. I was merely warning him of what several of the more senior folk told me about sovietboots, that's all. I didn't want to have to buy another set of boots "just in case" they didn't work for he highest levels of accuracy.
I'm not always the most clear when it comes to typing.
Oh no I was just explaining the "concerns" you were referring to, so others will know what they are getting into.

I don't know about these specifically, but I know a couple people have the other officer boot they sell. They seemed generally happy with them, but the warning I got from a few folks is that they don't look "stiff" enough.
Hey Chris,
These are the boots people buy from that company:
http://www.sovietboots.com/home/10-officer-chrome-box-calf-riding-leather-boots.html
They are 100% approvable for 501st applications. However, they have their positives and negatives.
They are nice quality, relatively inexpensive, have no zippers, and are leather.
You are correct, like you said there is a concern with the "stiffness." However the concern will only apply if you care to take your costume to Imperator level 3. The "stiffness" itself isn't realy the issue, the issue is the style. These are Soviet style riding boots. For level 3 you are required to have English style riding boots, which is where the stiffer leather and style comes in to play.
So shop with confidence, levels 1 and 2 are obtainable with these boots. Just keep in mind their limitations.
Disclaimer, levels 2 and 3 are judged on your costume as a whole. I'm just pointing out details for boots that will help you achieve higher levels for your costume.

boots and costume ?'s

Chuck,
1. Go ahead and get the boots first, those are always the hardest to find what you need.
2. Some trusted vendors for the costume are:
- Cosplaysky http://cosplaysky.com/(Read up on measurments and info to provide to them)
- Clothears http://www.clothearscostumes.com/
- Museum Replicas (If you can find on ebay)
- Anovos http://www.anovos.com/(But they're kind of a mess right now. Might want to wait till they start shipping)
3. As far as your rank goes, you can choose whatever rank you want, as long as it can go with your costume. (IE: Line officer rank/green, Staff officer rank/black, Grand Admiral rank/white and so on..) http://www.imperialofficer.com/forum/index.php?/topic/4002-official-ioc-rank-guide/
4. As far as rank "price" or "cheesyness" goes, the price difference between the different ranks isn't that significant. Ranks with longer bars or more tiles will cost a little more for materials, but not that much. Also, nothing is realy cheesy, become whatever character you want to, that's what's costuming is all about.
My suggestion is to pick a character from the movies you like and model your costume after him/her. Then you'll know what rank bar you'll need, and what color costume to buy. You can also buy the appropriate accessories using that guideline.
5. As far as putting your number in your hat goes, wait to find out if the number is available. That will be your 501st number you get when you're approved. (IE: ID5638...) If someone already has that number you will not be able to use it. So look up your number before you put it in your hat.
6. As far as how the costume fits goes, I'd suggest order the costume to the largest size you'll fluxuate to. The initial approval will be based more on the costumes accuracy and materials then the tailoring. Just make sure it is roughly your size and it should be ok. It is the higher level 2 and 3 that is more critical of the tailoring of your costume. However, level 2 and 3 are not a requirement.
Hope any of that helps. Let us know if you have any questions, or need any help.
Good luck!
Matt
