I would say if your jacket and jodhpurs are Museum Replicas I would go with the MUR hat, that way the fabric will be an exact match. I know matching the fabric isn't that big of a deal with the staff officers but that's what I would like IMO. You got two great hats there.

Hey at east Disneyland knows how to display the hat on the mannequin.

The hats they sell for $25 do not match the color or fabric of the uniform. I've been a couple times and have compared them.

Hey Stanton,
You are not required to have any gloves for your "Staff officer." If you look at the CRL for your character here: http://www.501st.com/databank/Costuming:ID_imperial_officer_black
...gloves are listed under "optional accessories." As far as the style goes, if you want gloves stick to the gauntlet style. Its some of the Line Officers who wear the wrist length gloves.
My suggestion to you, if your only worried about level one, choose what look you would like. If you want to think about level 2 or 3 I'd suggest finding a specific character you'd like to mimic and model your uniform after him/her. There are a few differences depending on the character you choose. IE: only boxes for ANH, only three different bars to choose from in ANH, gloves or no gloves, only single rank bars, belt grove or no grove depending on ANH or ROTJ or no grove for ESB. There a a few things to consider based on the level you wish to achieve.

I'm actualy surprised I beat Phil to this one ;) Both are 501st approvable however alot if people, including myself, like the push buttons better. I own a pexiglass one and seen a couple push buttons in person, and the push buttons are much nicer looking. Unfortunatly with the pexiglass, they must be cut to size. And with that comes human error, missizes and imperfections. Also the push button seem to be more screen accurate. You can also usually find very comparable prices for people to make you either ones. I will be purchasing a new rank bar with push buttons since im unhappy with my first selection. So my suggestion to you is to save yourself some time and money and do it right the first time, and order a push button rank bar. You can also earn yourself some extra style points with Phil. ;) Good luck!
