  1. I appreciate it, and I have been keeping an eye out on ebay.de (thank you high school German haha), but as nice as they are, they few that are the right size are WAAAY out of my price range :-/

EDIT: Someone over at JRS linked me this pair, I think I might just go with them http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-Military-German-EM-Leather-Combat-Boots-In-Sizes-/261816259722?var=&hash=item3cf577148a:m:mapQ8YkzWyFtMxKmxJEDXug

  2. Ahh the eternal question: will either of these boots work (obviously with modifications)?

I'm hopeful about the first (though I'm guessing not because of that side seam) because I found them on clearance at a local outlet shop for about 40 bucks. Right now I'm only really concerned about basic clearance (My OCD it currently being beaten into submission by my wallet lol).

    Thanks!!

Now does anyone have a source for the metal plate? I already have a rank bar but really like the look of the push button over the acrylic

I just used a 1" by 0.125" bar stock from Home Depot. That, a hack saw, sandpaper and a lot of elbow grease should make it pretty. I also had a machine shop mill a couple recesses in the back for magnets so it sat a little flat.

  4. I'm considering getting the campaign myself. I'm eager to hear how yours goes!!

I'm actually interested in that game, I've got a pack with the smaller X-wing game, and it seems kinda ok, but it feels like it would work better for capital ships.

IMO Armada is a lot more streamlined than X-Wing. Plus the "hackjob" nature of the squadrons you had to field always bugged me. I mean, who brings an Interceptor, two TIEs, a Bomber, and a Lambda shuttle to a fight anyway?

  5. So after an extended health issue last year (Long story), I've decided to drop back and do a bridge crewman (that could naturally extend into reserve pilot, navy trooper etc), I've gained a considerable amount of weight and honestly I think the tunic is going to look shitty at the moment....

anywho... I've done a bit of looking and can't seem to dins a thread comparing the two. I was wondering what would be a better choice for the black jumpsuit: Cosplaysky or Wampawear? I know Cosplaysky requires some alterations, and I'm comfortable doing them, but a friend (who's done a TIE pilot) swears by Wampawear.

Any thoughts, comments, directions would be appreciated, thanks!!

EDIT: BTW I know about this thread :

  6. As far as the textures go.... I used to work with several industrial printers of various types (metals, plastics, resins, and waxes), and when it comes to PC, and presumably ABS, we would always use high build primer. After a few coats, you had a beautifully smooth and matte surface to paint/detail how you see if. If I can find a picture or two of the primed models (that isn't proprietary or classified) I'll post them so you can see what I'm talking about.

  7. Does anyone have a decent source for the knee high officer boots? All I can find don't meet the standards (has strap, zipper, design, laces, etc). I can get really amazing discounts on the equestrian style riding boots but can't find any to meet the crl. I tried Hessen Antique, but they only have size 9.

I got mine from Todds Costumes http://www.toddscostumes.com/costumes/han-solo-costume/han-solo-boots/but you have to watch them, they tend to go quick! Also, unless you have skinny legs, be prepared to stretch them.
