  1. I was always under the impression that line officers made up the command structure. They lead troops in the field and higher ranking line officers made command decisions. Staff officers were "aides" to the higher ranking line officers and helped to staff and run command centers and headquarter positions thus the name staff officer. 

  2. If money is not a problem then custom is the way to go.

    If you are wanting to go for higher levels than no zippers or stretch panels are allowed. Spanish style and flat top are acceptable.

    The CRLs say nothing about polish but remember we do portray military personal so you really want to have as high gloss as you can it looks more impressive especially for higher ranks such as Admiral, Grand Admiral and Moffs.

  3. Yes you are correct and it really does help a lot (especially with the taller riding boots). Most people use elastic but what ever you use make sure and give yourself a bit of slack if the straps are too short then when you put your boots on the straps cut into the bottom of your foot. Trust me I had to redo mine.
