CommanderBaz reacted to Hask in Official IOC Rank Guide
If no one wanted to do them before now what can be done CRLs are written by the members not forced on them

CommanderBaz reacted to Hawk in Questions for Candidates
This one is for all 3. I am curious to know who makes up your command staffs and their positions.

CommanderBaz reacted to Hask in Questions for Candidates
To all 3 candidates DL is a very demanding position with lots that go on behind the scenes, how much about the position are you aware of and what experience do you have in legion roles do you have that would qualify you for the position?

My initial opinion is they're too cylindrical, the crown is too big. But they're only a prototype, the design can change. If they match the quality of his other work they'll be great.

I'm sorry to hear that, you have a great uniform. The only changes I was asking for at this level, were ones relating to the fitting of the costume.
With such a great uniform and the amount of effort you've clearly put, I see it as a shame not to do this, but that is ultimately your decision.

It was great meeting you too !!
The CRL can be inconsistent or incomplete when it comes to certain details , so there is stuff you end up learning by spending hours roaming around here , looking at the Executor and Imperator status requests . I think i can safely say that most of the things i learned regarding our lovely uniforms i learned by reading Phil's comments on the promotion board
I was proud to stand among all of you in London , particularly since the Officers are a rare view around here . I won't be missing another IOC photoshoot anytime soon

I didn't know quite where to put this, so in the Officer's lounge it goes. I was at CE III and wore my fairly new green line officer's uniform. I had the utmost privilege to meet many amazing people in equally amazing uniforms (Kris, Phil, Steve, Barry and Cassandra, to name but a few). I was the rather quiet guy with a full beard, doing his best not to look like a complete tool.
I put together the officer uniform as I'll need good visibility when driving my R2 droid and thus can't rely on either the gunner or the TIE I've got in the closet, but I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. Then one of the beforementioned gentlemen mentioned something as we were standing around after the IOC photo - "You set the standard. You take the costuming to the next level. It makes me proud to wear the officer uniform when I see you guys". That resonated in me and made me perk up and really, really want to be a part of this detachment. I think it was Phil that was very specific in saying that "the point is not to point out mistakes, but to show you where improvements can be made and thus lift us all to a higher level". Unfortunately I'm way better at stiching people up than sewing fabric, but if I could learn how to build a droid, I might be able to learn enough sewing to do the alterations needed. I will be applying for level two shortly (as I don't think my boots are OK for level 3), but I've got some details to take care of first.
Thank you all for opening my eyes to (yet) a whole new level of detail, and I hope I didn't gape too much at Cassandra when she took one look at my belt and told me it was a ROTJ belt. Apparently the thin lines were there for a reason...

CommanderBaz reacted to fil5117 in IC-83838 Requesting Bridge Crew (ROTJ) Imperator Status
Chris,
I apologise for the inconsistency of the clearance process. I've been looking at the clearance levels and recently sat down to put into words as to what distinguishes the levels of clearance. I have had conversations with people (501st members) who believe there should only be one level of clearance. I'm against this and am a firm believer in the levels system. It allows people to work up towards the ideal costume image we should all strive towards. Usually accuracy goes hand in hand with cost. Having the levels will then give the option for people on a smaller budget to be included.
I believe the distinction between executor and imperator should be aesthetics and accuracy. Executor should concentrate with the fitting of the uniform, what looks good. Imperator should add more accuracy, with a steady progression between the two.
I am now trying to identify parts that sit nicely in this middle ground, e.g. Soviet boots and these jack boots. Previously I have been more lenient with the Imperator level, judging items against the CRL. With the problems with product availability I'm trying to be more considerate at Executor level, and conversely a little stricter at Imperator level. It's a tough line to walk, I don't want to dilute either of the standards, and I don't want to exclude or alienate people either.
Unfortunately you 'fell foul' of my renewed approach. I have always maintained the uniform suits you well and you really look the part. I've googled the German eBay and they have new EU size 48 boots - US size 13).
We are always trying to improve and revise our standards, what has previously cleared met the standards at the time.

Thank you Phil - I know you said it met the requirements - just wanted to check now I had changed the colour and that you were happy with it, which you have now confirmed
It may seem like you are repeating yourself but I just like to double check things to be sure - I never make assumptions

Yes, it still meets the clearance requirements.
Thank you for improving the accuracy of the colour.
