Shouldn't the CRL for the AT-AT Commander be referred to as something else? I feel like it's more accurately described as a form of battle-dress for Line Officers; Shouldn't the costume be like the 181st Dress Uniform and have a dual-inclusion in both the IOC and the ACD if, for no other reason, because 80% of the costume is just that of an Imperial Line Officer?

General Veers is shown to have an average Line Officer uniform, until the Battle of Hoth when he wears a chestplate and helmet over his uniform. So does that make him an Officer or an AT-AT Commander, and if the answer is "both" then why isn't the costume listed for both?

    Aloha Officers,

I apologize for the delay in posting this. Between election madness and then some work related travel I am finally getting a chance to sit down to use a keyboard that does not involve thumbs.

Please allow myself to introduce myself with a form letter going out on all the detachments forums. I am Eric Brager your Legion Membership Officer (LMO) for 2016. If you recognize the name Darth Aloha it is likely due to my involvement with FISD as a two time Detachment Leader (DL) and of course as your web host server dude.

The LMO office this year is here to help. We will support the IOC's goals for updating and creating new CRLs. Through your DL we will be an advocate, advisor, and champion. Most of all we will be accessible and approachable. No longer are the LMOs aloof and unreachable.

Last year saw the a small but important changes to the Operating Protocols regarding CRLs. Section 7 states a few things that define a new working relationship between the detachments and the LMO. First is that a new costume may not be added to the Legion without completed CRL. Second is that the detachments are responsible for the creation and maintenance of the CRLs not the LMO. We do not make your CRLs. The result of these changes is that base level CRL requirements should not change unless the LMO and the DL are in agreement.  Thirdly and lastly the DL should solicit buy-in from the detachment community regarding changes.

In this new arrangement we have no choice but to work together. With that said every one of the 15 detachments will have an LMO representative assigned to them.

Your LMO rep is Bradley Graham (TB-3910/Sentry02) He will be logging into your forums and contributing to your community, if he isn’t already doing so. The LMO office needs to be active in your community. That way we may fully understand each detachment’s vision and needs if we are going to support your CRL needs.

What is the next step in this glorious shiny new hug-fest? I am asking the DL to send their LMO representative (or post up) a list of CRL goals as well as issues, concerns, gripes, problems, woes that we can help with. I will be integrating that list into my ongoing high level goals for 2016 that will be posted publically on the forums. I encourage any discussion between the dets and the LMO office to occur out in the open on the forums as much as possible.

If anyone reading this (and hasn’t dozed off) has a question of any kind they are welcome to PM me anywhere or email me. Your DL will be receiving my phone number shortly and is welcome to text or call anytime for any reason.

Let’s get some poodoo done this year.

    -Eric

I've been given the green light to start a costume build WIP by one of the Detachment Admins, and I'm going to need all the help I can get on that thread. This might just get off the ground.

August, I posted a thread on the 501st Forum in the Costume section regarding Imperial Army Troopers and Medics. You can add what you can, and with a little luck maybe we can get this off the ground.

I think the main thing we need to do is to talk to the Detachment Staff about working together to make this a real possibility

The game came out in 2012, but the card came with an "Adversary Deck" that was released in 2014. Here's the link to the product page of the deck the Imperial Trooper card is in: FFG Imperials and Rebels Adversary Deck

All of the black and white pictures were officially authorized Star Wars publications but they are of the old variety. West End Games' Star Wars RPG brought a lot of cool stuff into the EU but it also brought a lot of wacky, unnecessary, and downright stupid stuff too. In the most unbiased way possible, though, I consider the Imperial stuff from the Roleplaying game by and large the best overall quality content from the game. There was a newer and far shinier Roleplaying game made in the late 2000s (I think) but it had a definite fixation with shoving prequel content down everyone's throats and, so, I never got as into it as I did the old game. I think both of them have been wiped out of existence with the rise of Disney's Star Wars dynasty, though.

Since I had a couple of painful experiences while trooping , I would appreciate these slippers to be on the CRL as well. It very much looks like they are "canon" indeed

I am 100% right there with you in regards to ground fighting versus space fighting. Dogfighting and capitol ships are awesome, of course, but I prefer watching the footsloggers duke it out on Terra Firma. I'm excited to see whatever they come up with for the First Order, but I am absolutely NOT happy with how that 4-legged Walker looked on Starkiller base. That thing looks like somebody just chopped the head and neck off an AT-AT and crudely shoved a couple gun barrels in the bloody stump. 10/10 NOT ok with that thing.

In regards to the chances of seeing a lengthy ground battle in Rogue One I would be very surprised if we see much in the way of a large force-on-force ground conflict in the new movie. With it being about the theft of the Death Star plans I'm very much expecting it to be a small squadron infiltrating an area, getting detected just as they're about to get away clean, and getting stuck-in fighting against hordes of Imperials. Things will look grim until Rebel flyboys come in and save the day. I would imagine we might see an AT-AT and AT-ST or two but I'd be vey surprised if it's anything more than that. If we see any NEW technology though I'll be sorely disappointed. The Empire has a  massive and devastating arsenal of established ground vehicles to choose from so, if they wind up just making some stuff up, I'd be peeved. Here's hoping that, if there are big forces, they put in the 5 seconds of work it would take to check out Wookieepedia and get some unused or obscure vehicles to use (Juggernauts and AT-PTs please! None of that garbage from Rebels!).

August, you're right about the over use of Stormtroopers, but I'm hoping that they'll at least show some Armored Cav types (AT-AT, AT-ST, etc.). In episode 7 you can see new AT-AT vehicles in the big speech scene before the planets are blown up. So that gives me a little hope for more goodies in the next film.

Good info here! I already signed up on the ACD forums a while ago to look around. I'm aiming for an AT-AT commander once I finish my Line Officer and once I have a little bit more time to devote!

You beat me to it...so yes, all aspiring AT-AT Commanders come on over to the ACD. We also have "Driving instructors" (mentors) who will help you with your costume builds!

...and as it fits so well...I'm the DXO there.

The AT-AT  Commander Armour parts are a mish-mash of existing costume parts, just re-sprayed & with different greeblies.

    - Snowtrooper Helmet (no cowl or eyes)
    - Snowtrooper/S' Commander (same piece) Chest-Plate
    - Snowtrooper Ab-Plate (different snowflake greeblie)
    - Stormtrooper Shoulder Straps
    - Tie Pilot Back-Plate.

Over in the A.C.D. we have a Vendor List (you'll need to have 501st access to see it tho). There we list makers/suppliers of these parts, as well as a few various makers of most the greeblies & extras you'll need to complete the look.

For too long the likes of MC & DL have held the monopoly on a lot of costume hard parts.
There are plenty of other options out there besides these two makers.
If you live in the US, then why not try Bobamaker for the snowy parts? https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.756471244428703.1073741830.198752273533939&type=3
I live in the UK, so i'd prob' go to Troopermaster: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1556215667929626.1073741833.1546878132196713&type=3(you can also pick up the stormtrooper shoulder straps too).
Then all you need is Greeblies/Decals, Rubber trim & a can of spraypaint.

By all means sign-up in the armoredcavalry.net forum.

    I'm the D.L. there.

Space battles are fine and dandy, but I'm a ground pounder. I'll stick with Armor, Cavalry, and Infantry. Rogue One sounds like my kind of movie.

You might wait until after Rogue One is released this December. It's being described as the "Black Hawk Down" of the Star Wars universe - very combat oriented.

Apparently the 822nd Imperial Medical Corps is a group of 501st members who are certified/licensed medical professionals. From what I could tell, there are no geographic limitations, as a member of the Nordic Garrison is a member of the 822nd as well. This seems like a really cool group, and once my ID is approves and I become part of the 501st, and once I finish my EMT certification I'm hoping to join them as well!

Now we just need to make some sort of medic uniform approvable......

I'm afraid I have no idea. I'm not even an approved member myself. I had a Naval Officer uniform but it was gray and, with the blue ray set out, only Olive Drab officers can make the cut now D: I'm working on trying to dye it black but it's all polyester so that's a tough task. From what I understand, though, you would need to PM some of the higher-ups in order to find out. It would be neat as all Hell to see an approved one of these guys running around. Let me know if you need more reference pictures, too, and I can get you more.
