  1. Spoke with Mr Tim Booth and to put it short not sure why the difference.

Possibly since it was a smaller size and custom boot used different leather. Or could of been the boot sample from boot maker that they are getting rid of.

Was suppose to be used in a movie but deal fell through. They will inspect it once its back in their hands.

The finish on boot is more like the dress jack boot they sell however was made into a pair of riding boots. if that makes sense.

  2. Pretty sure this was the guy I bought some custom boots from back in the day. As noted there is a soft shaft boot and a firm shaft. I prefer the firm finish on a riding boot as shown in those Mux boots link above. I agree  the shine in those pics(Mux link) was over kill.

However if Palpatine was coming to visit would you show up with a half ass polish on the boots? Personally when I shine my boots I like for you to see your reflection in them ;)  Parade shine and ready for inspection.

Sure there isn't anything wrong for with the Hessen boots just not the type a boot shaft I wanted nor leather grade. boots remind of some Emerson boots I came across once. I went through plenty of riding boots between 1998-2005. Mostly military surplus looking for a perfect Imperial Officer boots. Problem was always the calfs.

  3. I suppose these dehner boots are the dress riding boot line. Which would explain the sharp finish.

In my opinion the Hessen finished product I don't think is worth that much.

Doing some research the Mux boots looks more like the finish I would like in an officer boot. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F233137852434

I wish we could have our boots side by side to compare them. Not the finish in leather I expected.

  4. I will try and upload some pics once at computer. My issue is the price for what you get. I had bought my Dehners for $250. Considering everything used on screen was military surplus this doesn't come close to that quality.

I had bought a pair of custom German officer boots for $175 with better leather back in 2008.

  5.    Well I just got my boots in and plainly put disappointed. At best these are high priced cosplay boots/pleather feel. Compared to my Dehner riding boots these are scheißer! Leather on shaft is too soft. I have owned Military grade surplus riding boots that are better than this.

When I had taken my dehner boots to my local boot maker to have zippers intalled he was amazed at the quality leather/craftsmanship. He basically said congrats on owning a gorgeous pair of boots. If I bring the hessen boots to the same boot maker he would laugh.

Just my opinion not sure if this new batch of boots are made differently. Perhaps I had high expectations based on all the reviews I read on here. Or simply setting Dehner as the standard I let myself down.

Sum it up leather is too soft on shaft and not worth the price. Probably get same boots from China for 1/4 of the price.

  6. I noticed on Magnoli site his officer tunic states that collar will be 1.25 inches tall. I don't think anyone has pointed out to Magnoli that it should be 2 inches tall for a Dir Krennic tunic. Since its a generic tunic he's making. Perhaps reach out to him and see about getting the collar redone? I know shipping will be an issue. Or ask for extra material to redo the collar by a tailor. He's a pretty easy guy to work with.
