So I was browsing elsewhere on the forums and came across this thread that seems to say that the Solo and R1 Officers don’t have notches in the disc.

Is there a close up photo to justify the notch in the Mimban Officer cap - or was that taken from one of the other CRLs?

I don't think they made different Code Disks for the Mudtrooper Officers, so in my opinion they are definitely all without the notch. Because they did not have to recycle parts of a record player anymore ;)

  2. I had the great pleasure to troop with Antje and her uniform for two days and it was absolutely no problem. I don't think you would dress up like this to go shopping, you will always have other troopers around you.

I still think they they've gone a step to far when they created the uniform, because it looks very much like a "Bund deutscher Mädel" uniform, but it's Star Wars, not the third Reich, so I like it very much.

  3. What Kris said is exactly what I was thinking.

For me I can say that since I know it's alphabetical I find the CRLs much faster than before and if I need a CRL more often or when it's updated I simply download it as a PDF and I don't need to look at the site anymore.

  4. My idea was to make it chronological:

Republic Fleet, Rebels, Rogue One, ANH/ESB/ROTJ, Extended Universe, First Order.

    Admiral Tarkin

    Agent Kallus

    Imperial Cadet

    Governor Arihnda Pryce

    Director Krennic

    Galen Erso – Tarkin Initiative

    Imperial Science Officer

    Grand Moff Tarkin

    Line Officer, (Olive Drab)

    Imperial Security Bureau

    ANH Staff Officer

    Staff Officer, (Black)

    Warrant Officer

    Imperial Grand Admiral

    Grand Admiral Thrawn

    Grand Admiral Thrawn – Rebels

    Armand Isard

    Director of Intelligence Isard

    Admiral Daala – Flight Suit

    Admiral Daala – Olive Drab

    High Moff Morlish Veed

    Moff Nyna Calixte

    Juno Eclipse – Dress Uniform

    Juno Eclipse – Rogue Shadow

    General Hux

    First Order General

    First Order Colonel/ Major

    First Order Lieutenant/ Captain

But to be honest this was before I figured out that the current list is simply in an alphabetical order, stupid me. Btw this is list is a few month old, so some new CRLs are not included.

More pictures of the Major early in the Mimban scenes, armor, coat, hat, belt, etc all the same as the better pictured Lieutenant.

Also evidence of the gloves being the wrist length officer gloves and not the longer gauntlets.

Major wears his coat open and belt underneath instead of over the coat. He also does not appear to wear a scarf.

I’ve lightened up these screen caps as much as I can, I think I see a collar, but it’s hard to tell.

He also seems to have no fur on the collar of the coat.

  6. The uniform was seen on screen, so by the rules of the 501st we can replicate it, create a CRL and wear it, it doesn't (or shouldn't) matter if anyone thinks that this uniform doesn't fit into the type of the classical Officers.

Just because someone wants to wear this uniform doesn't mean this person is lazy or wants to make something cheap. A good high quality Officer uniform is always far away from being cheap, no matter which style.

I dont think sloppy was the correct word

Yeah, I was a bit rushed this morning.  Sloppy doesn't convey what I was going for.

    Incomplete?  I think that's a better phrase.

Standing next to a group of officers in tall boots with jodpurs and hats, they are going to look incomplete.

Now, it's a valid uniform.  There's no denying that. So it's really just a matter of how to implement it.

I definitely meant "sloppy" ;) although I'm sure Jeff didn't mean it as an offense against this type of Uniform

I will say that when I've trooped in my Science Officer, I've got alot of comments from other members along the lines of "Hey, did you forget your boots?". So that's a good point. But in all honesty, I actually feel better and think Im sharper looking in my Science officer. So, really it depends.

Any "sloppiness" is mainly a GML and costumer problem.

Interesting experience Sean, to me happened exactly the otherwise last week, many other officers or visitors asked me from where the Science Officer is and after I told them they all said that the uniform looks very good. And many officers in riding boots were a bit jealous of the comfortable boots, so no questions like "did you forget your boots?".

I know text does not convey tone so I apologize if any of this comes off angry/argumentative/etc.

So basically those few of us approved as Science Officers would technically already be approved as Service Dress.

I'm fine with the Science Officer being a 3rd tab under the same CRL since it specifically calls for the white cuffs while the other two do not.

I've seen tons of sloppy looking officers, people who looks like they crumpled their uniform into a ball and threw it in a bag, forgot about it for a month, and then threw it on last minute. Hat, no hat, knee high boots, ankle boots, that's not going to change someone not taking care of their uniform.

The Service Dress uniform is probably going to be the easiest costume to get people into the legion. It's going to be a lot of people's first costumes. And probably even more "comfy con table duty" uniforms. It's going to offer people a chance to get an officer suit without having to break the bank finding shoes if they can't fit into a stock size. This is the reason why I want to see this CRL happen so much. I know of at least 6 people in my garrison and countless more that will buy this costume and join the IOC the minute this CRL goes green. Why don't they join right now? Because they can't find the knee high riding boots!

Is being called a Nazi any better or worse then just looking like a guy in a black suit?

Different points of view I guess.

I'm seeing it as the perfect con suit, the "I've been trooping all morning and I'm tired, but I want to be suited up in something comfortable to do table duty" Chelsea boots are more comfortable then jack boots, I'm sure most of us will agree to that

Would I tell someone just looking to join the legion to do this costume first right off the bat? No.

Would I tell someone just looking to join the legion to do this costume first if they want to be an officer but they're struggling to find the boots, and I mean really struggling not "I spent an hour on ebay and couldn't find anything less then $50" struggling - yes

Right now anyone can join the legion as a Science Officer, how would joining in this Service Dress be any different (other then having more options on rank bars and not just the 1)?

I couldn't agree more to these two statements. I've seen enough sloppy officers, which does not depend on if Staff/ Line/ or Science Officer. If someone doesn't take care about his uniform, it doesn't matter which uniform he has hanging in his wardrobe, it will always look sloppy.

And especially for troops that last more than two days, like my last troop in Nuremberg, it is very comfortable to wear Chelsea Boots instead of Riding Boots for one day. Also if you attend a wedding, like I did at the begin of september, it looks not so military like it would with riding boots, but you are still representing the Empire in an very well dressed way.

So yes, these configurations should definitely happen. Now with the new CRL style perhaps like it was mentioned before, one version Line Officer Dress Uniform, one version Staff Officer Dress Uniform and the Science Officer as third and very specific version. I don't think we should get rid of the Science Officer CRL, we tend to create new CRLs but not to delete old one, except when they are really outdated. And I can totally live with the "no hat" thing, Admiral Gorin in R1 didn't wear a hat either, as did Tarkin, General Romodi, Yularen, Prye, Krennic for most of the time, and so on.

Hmm.  Not sure how I feel about the no hat thing.  Seems very much like an "off duty" configuration.  They're hanging out on the private ship of a criminal, after all.  Not exactly "on duty".  OTOH, most troops are very much "on duty" situations, especially with Officers who often escort troops, and accompany Vader.  The "casual" configuration just wouldn't apply to that scenario.

I can live with the straight pants and boots, but I'm not sure about approving without the hat.

I always saw this is an off duty Uniform, as you said, we see them on the private ship of a criminal. So this is exactly what it is a more casual and comfortable dress uniform.

Regarding the no-hat problem, what about Tarkin? He never wore a hat in the movies or series and he was definitely on duty ;)
