A lot of mixed feelings from me. I've been a big fan of the series, admittedly haven't followed it from the beginning. Came in a little late. XD But.. yeah it felt a little bit "...oh, okay" for me.
Excited to see what the future holds though, now that this is tied up reasonably neatly.

Sorry Kris but what we do is cosplay.  We exist in the costuming community just like any other group or costumer does, there's nothing special about us that makes the word cosplay not apply.  When Legion members get upset about this word being used I never understand it.  Our costumes are better than the average con-goer but that doesn't make the word not apply.  If anything our units that emphasize in character behavior are actually cosplaying more than the rest of us.

To be honest this attitude that we are somehow special is why we have the bad rep in the rest of the costuming world that we do (along with unwelcoming behavior earlier in our history and in some places even today).  It turns away recruits and breeds antagonistic rival groups.  But you're right, that's a debate for another time (and one that's been going on ever since the term cosplay came about).

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As far as the ranks go, this is excellent.  More ranks and better understanding of what the actual term is for each rank is nice.  I can now get rid of some of the various charts I've saved once the updates are made.  Maybe one day the dream of having a complete and comprehensive chart of the whole rank structure confirmed can actually be a reality.

Veers to ACD made sense.  From a pure military point of view, ACD (Armored CAVALRY Detachment - emphasis on the second word) Veers was commanding the Empire's "Cavalry" - AT-AT and AT-ST walkers.

Thrawn, Price and Tarkin are not commanding Cavalry.  They are effectively Generals on the field.  And a General is a commanding OFFICER.

Tarkin is an Officer if he's in armor for field work or bunny slippers because he doesn't like the feel of his boots.  Sorry, but I'll ride and die on that hill, "feelings" be damned.

In my opinion, yes, the yoke is one piece and that line is probably for extra stability of everything underneath.

And yes, from seeing it live, part of the triple stitch (the part that bisects the front piece, is just topstitching, not a separate piece. There is a panel there that is a folded over piece that makes up the front edge, and that is bisected by a topstitched triplestitch. Again, I think this is just support, but it is there.

So, I dunno where you all are, but on Goldhawk Road in London earlier this week I saw a feldgrau gabardine (poly not wool) that would likely work for officer uniforms. I think it was second from the Costa near the Goldhawk Road tube entrance.

I think what you made is awesome, and I also think thoroughly within the level 2 requirements.

L1 is there to be reasonable. Lots of folks can get their hands on these easily, and while 3D printing is handy, is still not available to all.

First off, a BIG APOLOGIES, for being away lately, a combination of a new job (that firewalls the IOC Forums) and heading up the Star Wars costume clubs booth at Oz Comic Con Melbourne (our largest convention of the year here).

Secondly, a big thank you Cari for all you have done on this and taking ownership of it.  I also offer an apology to you for not being around during the final push on this

As most would know I’ve been a strong advocate not only for this costume but also the Rebel’s Era costumes.  For the majority I love this CRL and it has picked up on a lot of the issues I have had with the direction of the Rebel’s Era CRL’s. I do have a few sections that I would like to discuss before this is finalised.

So that everything doesn’t get lost in a sea of text and reference photos, this is a summary of what will follow:
Level 1 Requirements Battle Gear We should refer to this as “Imperial Officer Battle Armor”, to be consistent with the official LFL description Some of the text I think is confused, probably from the editing process Personally I think the section needs a total re-work, which I have added a suggestion below to  Level 2 Requirements No Issues Level 3 Requirements Tunic – Sleeve Caps Without opening Shoulder-gate, I can’t support this requirement. Boots – Shin Armor I get where this has come from but I’m not sure its achievable or needed. I believe from reading that the Level 1 Requirements is demarcated for the LMO Team (Cari) and the Level 3 Requirements are demarcated for the IOC Staff (Mark & Kris). I am more than happy to ether answer any questions that this raises either here on the IOC forums, or direct.

    Battle Gear

This is officially referred to by LFL as Imperial Officer Battle Armor on StarWars.com, so I think we should at the least be referring to this as “Battle Armor” if not “Imperial Officer Battle Armor” similarly how we have the Imperial Officers Pistol.

I think there are a few inaccuracies in the proposed CRL text for the armor and I while I realise that text isn’t really finalised until someone submits an Armoured Grand Admiral, I also think it is important to have the wording of a CRL as accurate as possible it being published on 501st.com

The armour and helmet while easily seen as Snowtrooper or AT-AT Commander, is actually closer to the AT-DP Armour (Imperial Combat Driver) which is also Rebels' Era.  The Helmet is actually identical to the AT-DP Helmet minus the faceplate, and the Back-Plate is also the same except the base has been elongated.  The Front-Plate is where the biggest difference is, and granted that its similar to the Snowtrooper or AT-AT Commander, but it is also quite different.

    Helmet
Thrawn is actually seen with two helmets in Season Three.  The time is in Hera’s Heroes in a blink and you miss scene where it is sitting on Thrawn’s desk, the second is of cause in Zero Hour – Part 2 where he is wearing it.  Both Helmets are different, the first is identical to Tarkin’s and the second is a remodelled Grand Admiral’s version.

    Helmet
    For 501st approval:
Open faced style helmet shell consists of a dome (with a rim along the bottom edge), and a helmet skirt along the sides and back. Dome and Skirt: Dome and skirt are painted white. (2) thin parallel lines over the top of the dome, extending from the front brow line to back. Gold “Chimaera” Logo in the center of the dome, at the front. "Rebels" style gold Imperial code discs are positioned with one on each side of the skirt. There is (1) thin line extending down the back center of the skirt . 1cm gunship grey painted edging along the entire edge of helmet. White trimmed military style goggles, with a white strap and black lenses Goggles are fixed to the Helmet via gold clips.

    Chest-Plate Armour
The Chest-Plate while similar looking to that of General Veers, is still quite Different:
White in Colour AT-DP style shoulder staps Round edge at the bottom No “edging” effect Seam lines No raised greebles on right side No recessed centre box Centre Section is pronounced versus gradual Left hand button section is thinner and longer Illuminated Buttons

I think current wording has the Front and Back Plate has got a little scrambled most likely due to being edit multiple times.

    Chest Armor
    For 501st approval:
Chest Armor is painted white and matches Helmet in color. Chest-plate is similar to that of a AT-AT Commander, but should match visual references. Pronounced centre section with no recesses Curved bottom edge Distinctive seam lines Switchbox to the left of the centre section houses three round, translucent disks (lightcovers) Red, White, White Chest and Back Armor join via shoulder straps over the top. Shoulder straps are smooth and are gold in color to match the epaulets. Shoulder straps have a small round gold greeblie at the back. Chest and Back Armor do not meet under the arms No visible straps. For level two certification (if applicable):
    Light covers should be illuminated

The Back-Plate Armour is almost identical to AT-DP armour except lower section has been elongated to mach the length of the front plate.

    Back Armor
    For 501st approval:
Back Armor is painted white and matches the Helmet in color. Back-plate is similar to that of AT-DP, but should match visual references. (1) large rectangle in the middle, with a circle inside the top right corner. (1) smaller / thinner rectangle sits on top of the larger rectangle. (2) small red translucent rectangles (lightcovers) spaced under the larger rectangle. One each side. Is of same length as Front Armor For level two certification (if applicable):
    Light covers should be illuminated

    Tunic

Without opening Shoulder-gate again to much, I really can't support the concept of "emphasised more than any other seam" line in this!  It's non-sencical and will result in some pretty awful uniforms as we have already heard with people suggesting piping, etc... I can partly see where this has come from but I don't agree with the presumption that people have made, and would argue that the seam is no more pronounced than other major seams like the vertical seams!

The following is a LFL sourced picture (I have the original 30.3mb PSD file, should you wish Cari, Mark, or Chris) so sorry about the size of the picture but it's important that I place it here at next to full resolution in order to show that the vertical seam and the should cap seams are pretty similar.  My theory is that this seam is different from what we are use to that it stands out in peoples minds, but don't take my word for it rewatch the TV show and you will see that a lot of the seams on ALL the officers are pronounced but we justify it in our heads!!!  Mark & Kris, could we please delete the first line of Level Three for the Tunic?

    Boots

I have to admit, I didn't pick up on the Shin Armour and literally zoomed into the picture above to see how Kallus Shin Armour enter the CRL.  I think this is a Animation Stylisation issue and I think the idea was for Boots and not for Shin Armour.  There is quite a difference between the quite obvious Shin Armour of Agent Kallus, the Imperial Combat Drivers, and others versus the Boots that are worn buy quite a lot of characters on both sides.  I think the other give away is that the Shin Armour on characters such as Kallus is a clear different surface and sizing versus say Officer Boots.  My other argument is that by having both the requirement of "tighter" and "No visible seams" if made these would be impossible for a human to put on.  Again Mark & Kris, could I ask that the entire Level 3 section for boots be removed.

If we can't judge anything by a picture, then how would this whole 501st thing work? We have to make some determination based on the images we see. It's what the OP asked for- opinions based on a photo.

I still stand by my statement. While in darker lighting it might lean towards grey, I don't believe the color in the image will ever lean towards olive and next to an ANOVOS outfit, which I've seen in person, this one would look totally out of place colour-wise.

So, at 10:45 in this she talks about cutting wigs

This is pretty much all I did, but kept putting it back on my head and adjusting again.

If you're not happy cutting it though, you can always wear it to a hairdressers and get them to do it. Just warn them before you show up with a wig.

Personally, I don't like human hair wigs. I feel they're too difficult to maintain and feel way too expensive to be worth it when you can get easier to maintain, cheaper, synthetic wigs that look just as good.

Hey guys, I was designing a clip for my aluinium code cylinders and I decided that since they are pretty simple I would just do the whole cylinder.  You are welcome to print them and use them as needed, I just ask that since I am making this file public that you use it for personal use only.  Please do not print these and sell them, but use them at your leisure.  I'm not positive on the scale so if you print them and they need to be adjusted please let me know!

I will argue against piping until I am blue in the face. It is not a raised detail. It is a seam, the argument being if this seam is raised as per the CRL then all seams should be raised with piping.

There is no reason to rush out a CRL. If something is not right, then fix it now (this is not a minor fix it later thing).
