But higher levels shouldn't be based on what we think looks better. It should be based on the primary source material.

That depends on the source material. Rebels doesn't have any beveling or thickness. Yes, the book exists, but that's only one source.

Though as I think about it, should likely make the wording for Thrawn and Pryce match as closely as possible, for consistency on the show.

Thanks for all the nice complements guys! I've been working with the LMO team and I have made a couple changes to make the costume a touch more accurate.  I have gotten the green light from our own LMO Cari to take the pictures for the CRL so I will be going over to another LMO's house tomorrow eventing to get those so that we can get this CRL published!  I really appriciate all the support and comments it really did help drive me.

Moving forward I purchased a 3D print file from Exaldear for the blaster and that is currently being printed.  Hopefully it prints well and I have a blaster to sand and prep for paint in the morning! I also wanted to share a couple more pictures from that first event because I think they came out really cool! Thanks again guys!

Because this got me thinking, this is my Officer mates back in March.
Source of uniform from Right to Left (aka, front to back):
    eBay China find
    Cosplaysky in Grey
    Cosplaysky in olive
    ANOVOS

So, theoretically, if you got the Cosplaysky you could darken it closer. However, it's more likely you'll end up with a grey unless you are adding green to the mix. It's not a guaranteed thing that the underneath colour would show through, so you'd really want to be careful about watching it. And then there's the "dry and wet colours aren't the same" thing too.

I dunno. It's possible, but even with my dye experience I'd rather dye from white or just buy different material and make rather than risk it.

Unless ofc you're willing to just dye it black if all goes pearshaped.

I do somewhat recall, but I have failed to locate, someone on the JRS forum tried to dye the Cosplaysky uniform, but failed because it's a poly blend fabric.

Although the color of the CS uniform is by no means perfect, it is approveable... So why risk it?

There are poly specific dyes. You may find others, but my personal favorite is iPoly Dye.

Having said that, dying is as much an art as a science. You'll likely have to do a lot of testing to get the right colour, so I wouldn't just jump into shoving a whole uniform in a dye bath. Especially if you're not starting with white as existing colour scan alter what you come out with. I think it highly unlikely you will be able to shift the colour from Cosplaysky to the right tone without also making it too dark as it's darker already.

Just a testing wear on it. At least kind of clean up more of the errors (from the inside)

But the color is more like the first picture or third picture on top.

I haven't forgotten about needing to share the drawing of my final cape design - I'm still recovering from the pre-celebration craziness.

I'm glad you guys already pointed out a major error in the original CRL that I agree with - slit definitely starts around crotch level not knees - when I measured the photos, it appeared that the slit started at the halfway point of the center back seam (starting where the seam meets the top yoke). I don't think the wording has to be that exact though - I think 'around crotch level' may be enough.

I also have a possible answer to why there's topstitching on the yoke - it's better if I show my photo evidence for it so I save the questions about why I think it. Hopefully I'll be back with more info for you guys sooner than later

For now here's some photos of my final cape:

    That is so awesome!

I love Her Universe stuff (I have...a lot), and totally didn't make the connection for that cardigan and the rank bar. It may be the "subtle hint" to my husband for Mother's Day.

I found a color of the fabric when I was checking one of the stores from online so desided to pop over to have a look. The uncle told me that the fabric is Gabardine wool and wrinkle free. The fabric look more like this color, the green gray kind on the below part. The top I use some water to wet it to see what color it turn into XD.

True, in the way that some told me that the green I had was kind of too greenly (kind of error that I see it base on the movie first before the book LOL).

So tested the fabric out after getting the fabric. (somehow my camera

But along the way I am ordering some other fabric online to check on the color.

What Steven said, although I do think that once you get into the actual costume, things start jumping out at you about how things should be done. I found that I was pretty happy with it til I had my costume. A bunch of things happened along the way to getting the costume right that meant I changed a bunch of things about the CRL before it got submitted. This might be a good place to work from until you get the costume done and can contribute as to what worked/did not.

Also, thinking about the hair, I'm not sure saying 1970s style is actually helpful. My first thought on reading it was, "what, like a mullet? Is that 70s?"

I wonder if you just specify the colour and side burns at L1 then at L2 say "cut to resemble source material" it's better? It also future proofs it for younger generations who may have no idea what a 1970s style cut is.

Eliste: Great perspective!  Reworked to read: "Badge consists of Press Corps emblem centered on bar."
The wording will probably take a bit of revision throughout, but we're heading in the right direction I hope

I am only curious as to the reasoning behind onlu allowing snaps for Lvl2? Were magnets ever considered? I would think that it should not really matter in the end what mounting system is used as long as you can't see it.

Truth to tell, I'm not sure how the glue will hold up yet.
The animators didn't do us any favors by stylizing the clips.
I could sink a dowel pin into the main body, but you'd see it through the clip with it being so thin. And it'd still be glued to the clip,  as I can't braze aluminum.
Well one problem at a time.
