  5. Hello. I was wondering if wampawear belts were safe to wear for officers who wear white tunics. Some leather dyes can tend to bleed onto white fabric and I was curious to know if anyone had any insight.

    Thanks!

I've not got a wampawear belt, but what I have done is stuck the fuzzy side of a roll of large velcro to the inside of the belt, this has stopped any dye transfer on to my Krennic tunic

  6. Oh! I thought this was on the main thread not private message. Not used to this app yet! Is it you in Hampshire then?

No worries, we've all been there.

So this post is on the request an advisor thread on the main forums, that everyone can see. This is really for just requesting an advisor/help.

Yes, I'm the one from Hampshire, hopefully the name in the top left should match here and in the PM

I'll reply to the PM just so you know the difference

  9. I've not ordered from either the old or new site, hopefully someone will advise shortly. Do they have any contact us info for you to ask them directly? I do know that making sure they have as many measurements as possible is important, even then they can sometimes get it wrong. I believe from other posts, the collar is a common thing for them to get wrong and that you need to be specific in getting them to adjust it to be 501st approved, which thinking about it might be part of what the $50 option is about.

    Sorry I can't help more

  10. Happy to know I inspired you, thanks.

I get where you're coming from, I think it is a difficult one as there are at least 11 versions of the cape from the film that I know of, however I went with the most common and based on the one on display at celebration London. Which seems to have followed through with the CRL

  11. Hey,

Have a look at my WIP, it has loads of reference shots, plus lots of my final build

Should give you a pretty good idea of what the CRL is referring to.

I appreciate that yes there are lots of builds out there that show it not flush, but on Ben's costume it is mainly flush and I have tried to replicate that.

    Hope that helps

    Michael

Yeah, you can see it in this image here pretty clearly. I went back to my original photos and here is one I just uploaded that is as clear as I have it in my photos:

I thought it was a seam til I went back to the photos and now I don't think its a seam. You can see the top stitching going through the top-stitching on the yoke's side triple-stitch.

It is a seam as I've seen photos from other angles that show it, it's not top stitching, it's just where the weight of the cape has pulled it apart to create that look, remember this is screen used so will have taken some abuse. Also the central triple stitched seam in the back goes up and under the yoke, you can see the rise in the yoke material.

And if we want to be picky , the haircut he sports while wearing the raincoat always seems a bit longer than when he wears the cape . I suppose all the scenes where the raincoat is worn were shot at the same time .

Just to point out his hair changes length and colour during the non flashback scenes as well

  14. Just one final thing to add, in case anyone missed it I will be at Celebration with Krennic so if anyone wants to get a closeup look, get detailed photos so on and so forth, just compare build notes or argue about the best way to attach the cape ;)

    I'm happy to meet up

This probably came from the fact (if I were to hazard a guess) that there was a general consensus (as close as one could be had) on the CRL in the discussion thread, and then when it came out the other end the CRL was more closely matching your costume (the specifics on attachments and buttons and the like) and so on.  While I recognize that probably was born from LMO alterations, I can see how someone could possibly assume that you had submitted text as well.

Your WIP is awesome (save one thing - the text color in most of it is hard for this old man to read, but I can pull it into a word doc and fix that so I can read it).

Well for future reference, people only have to talk to me, i'm not that scary, well only when I'm kitted up as Revan :D

don't just assume, ask me, i've nothing to hide

Thanks, yeah sorry about that, the UKG boards are black with white text and it didn't cut and paste very well.

Michael , i think we all agree here that choosing anybody else as a model would've been ridiculous . Your costume is by far the best , it's only logical you get to be the model .

I think all of the people who started working on their costumes before the CRL was released knew the risks , i doubt anyone is arguing about that .

The CRL just needs to be " standardized " now , tweaked here and there so that everybody can start working on their costumes with a more definitive CRL , or modify their current costumes to match the revised CRL .

Thank you for your comments about the model.

Again just to be clear, I have no issues with people passing comment on the CRL or wanting it changed. What I take offence to is it being implied that I was hiding anything or not being a team player.
